This particular kit fits certain years of the Jeep Compass and Patriot (see application info to verify vehicle compatibility). It provides a weight carrying capacity of 4,000 lbs. GTW and 400 lbs. TW. Each class 3 hitch has a 2" receiver tube and is tested in accordance with SAE J684 for safety. Rotate hitch up to touch fascia and mark trim locations. 6. Trim fascia per trim diagram. 7. Secure hitch with (4) flange nuts. 8. Torque all 1/2" fasteners to 110 ft-lbs. 9. Reinstall heat shield, fasteners, and exhaust.

Insert 4" hex bolts with washers into the frame rails from the outside. Raise the hitch into position between the frame rails. Push the front bolts through the mounting plates and loosely install 1/2" flange nuts. Then rotate the hitch up so it is touching the fascia to mark trim locations. After trimming, secure the hitch to the frame with (4) flange nuts and torque all 1/2" fasteners to 110 ft-lbs.
Yes, a compatible bike rack, cargo carrier or other accessory with a 2" x 2" shank can generally be used. Make sure the accessory does not exceed the hitch’s tongue weight rating, the vehicle’s limits or the accessory manufacturer’s capacity. Account for the combined weight of the carrier and everything loaded onto it.
