They make it easy to hitch up and Bring It, offering a vehicle-specific fit and the weight capacity to handle a variety of trailers. Custom class 3 hitches are the most common type of receiver hitch for pickup trucks and SUVs. Because of their weight range, they are also found on full-size cars, crossovers and minivans. Each custom-fit class 3 hitch package is made for vehicle-specific mounting. This particular kit fits certain years of the Kia Niro (see application info to verify vehicle compatibility). It provides a weight carrying capacity of 3,500 lbs. GTW and 525 lbs. TW. CURT class 3 trailer hitches are typically used to attach and haul utility trailers, boat trailers, campers, snowmobile or ATV haulers and more (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). Each class 3 hitch has a 2" receiver tube and is tested in accordance with SAE J684 for safety. To ensure that CURT class 3 receiver hitches have what it takes for serious trailering, they are designed using a hands-on approach and are constructed with rugged, high-strength steel and precise welding. We also protect our class 3 hitches in a co-cured finish of liquid A-coat and black powder coat for superior resistance to rust, chipping and UV damage.

Yes, the CURT 13329 is designed for 2017-present Kia Niro CUVs. This is a weight-carrying hitch with a maximum trailer weight capacity of 3,500 lbs. and a tongue weight capacity of 525 lbs. Always verify that your vehicle's towing capacity meets or exceeds these limits before towing.
Yes. The CURT 13329 is compatible with 2017-present Kia Niro models, which includes 2020 and later model years.
The CURT 13329 is rated for a maximum trailer weight of 3,500 lbs. and a tongue weight of 525 lbs. when used as a weight-carrying hitch. You must not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity.
You will need: a ratchet, torque wrench, 6-inch socket extension, 12mm socket, 16mm socket, 11/16-inch socket, masking tape, aviation shears, and safety glasses. Proper tools will greatly improve the quality of the installation and reduce the time required.
No. The CURT 13329 requires no drilling. The hitch uses existing weld nuts on the frame rails and reverse fishwire hardware to secure the attachment points.
Yes. You must mark out and trim a 3-inch by 5-inch section of the plastic panel using masking tape and aviation shears. The manual instructs you to confirm the trim prior to reinstallation. This is a permanent modification to the vehicle's plastic panel.
You will need to temporarily lower the exhaust. This is done by removing 4 bolts securing the metal exhaust guard using a 12mm socket, and then removing 3 rubber exhaust isolators (one on the driver side, one on the passenger side, and one in the center). The exhaust guard bolts should be returned to the customer. The exhaust is then reinstalled after the hitch is secured.
Two people may be required to ease installation. If you are hesitant to undertake this task on your own, contact an authorized CURT installer for additional assistance.
1. Remove the 4 bolts securing the metal exhaust guard and lower the exhaust by removing 3 rubber isolators. 2. Remove plastic push pins and nuts, then trim a 3" × 5" section of the plastic panel. 3. Remove rubber plugs from each frame rail and reverse fishwire the 7/16" carriage bolts and spacers through the access holes. 4. Raise the hitch into position and feed fishwires through the center hole, then loosely secure with 7/16" hex flange nuts. 5. Install the 4 M10-1.25 hex bolts and 4 conical tooth washers (2 on each side). 6. Torque all hardware and reinstall the exhaust and plastic panel in reverse order.
Torque all M10-1.25 hex bolts to 45 ft-lbs. Torque all 7/16-inch hex flange nuts to 59 ft-lbs. These fasteners are located on both sides of the hitch.
The kit includes: 4 M10×1.25 hex cap screws (part 10-10271), 4 conical tooth washers 3/8-inch (part 30-00148), 2 7/16-inch carriage bolts (part 10-10281), 2 7/16-inch serrated flange nuts (part 20-00103), 2 square hole spacers 0.250 × 0.88 × 2.25 inches (part CM-SP2), and 2 pieces of 7/16-inch fishwire (part 7_16 FISHWIRE).
Reverse fishwire refers to feeding the 7/16-inch carriage bolts and CM-SP2 spacers through the access holes in the frame rails from the inside of the vehicle. The fishwire is a tool used to guide these fasteners through the frame rail access holes. After the hitch is positioned, the fishwires are removed and the bolts are secured with 7/16-inch hex flange nuts.
You should loosely secure the 7/16-inch hex flange nuts after feeding the fishwires through the center hole of the hitch (step 4). Then install the M10-1.25 hex bolts and conical tooth washers (step 5). Finally, torque all M10 hardware to 45 ft-lbs. and all 7/16-inch hardware to 59 ft-lbs. (step 6).
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure all fasteners are tight and all structural components are sound. The manual does not specify a retorque interval, so contact CURT technical support at 877-287-8634 for guidance on maintenance intervals.
Safety glasses must be worn at all times while installing this product. Read all instructions thoroughly before beginning installation. Never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity when using the hitch.
