This particular kit fits certain years of the Lexus RX350 and RX450h (see application info to verify vehicle compatibility). It provides a weight carrying capacity of 4,000 lbs. GTW and 600 lbs. TW. It is also compatible with a weight distribution hitch for level towing and a rating of 5,000 lbs. WD and 600 lbs. WDTW. CURT class 3 trailer hitches are typically used to attach and haul utility trailers, boat trailers, campers, snowmobile or ATV haulers and more (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). Each class 3 hitch has a 2" receiver tube and is tested in accordance with SAE J684 for safety. To ensure that CURT class 3 receiver hitches have what it takes for serious trailering, they are designed using a hands-on approach and are constructed with rugged, high-strength steel and precise welding. We also protect our class 3 hitches in a co-cured finish of liquid A-coat and black powder coat for superior resistance to rust, chipping and UV damage.

Yes, trimming is required. The underbody panel and lower fascia must be trimmed to accommodate the hitch and support bar (on F Sport models). Tow loop reattachment is optional on non-F Sport models. However, tow loops cannot be reattached on F Sport models. The existing tow loop fasteners are removed during installation and should be returned to the vehicle owner.
On F Sport models, the support plate is placed under the passenger side plate. The hitch is clamped between the frame and the support plate. The support bar is then attached to the hitch and support plate using existing nuts removed from the tow loops.
The support bar is rotated upside down (180 degrees) from how it was originally attached to the tow loops. It is then attached to the hitch and support plate using the existing nuts that were removed from the tow loops.
The exhaust may need to be temporarily lowered to ease installation. If lowered, the exhaust must be supported as needed to prevent damage. The exhaust should be reinstalled after the hitch is secured in position.
The installation sequence is: (1) remove lower fascia by removing 13 fasteners; (2) temporarily lower exhaust if needed; (3) remove existing hole plugs from frame rails; (4) on F Sport models, remove support bar by removing four nuts; (5) remove existing tow loop fasteners and tow loops; (6) raise hitch into position, aligning with existing weldnuts; (7) secure hitch with 12mm bolts and 1/2" conical toothed washers; (8) on F Sport models, attach support bar using existing nuts; (9) torque all 12mm fasteners to 86 ft-lbs; (10) reinstall exhaust if lowered; (11) trim fascia as needed and reattach.
