It provides a weight carrying capacity of 2,000 lbs. GTW and 300 lbs. TW. CURT class 3 trailer hitches are typically used to attach and haul utility trailers, boat trailers, campers, snowmobile or ATV haulers and more (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). Each class 3 hitch has a 2" receiver tube and is tested in accordance with SAE J684 for safety. To ensure that CURT class 3 receiver hitches have what it takes for serious trailering, they are designed using a hands-on approach and are constructed with rugged, high-strength steel and precise welding. Equip your vehicle for towing and hitch-mounted accessories with a dependable CURT 2" trailer hitch. Designed for a vehicle-specific fit, CURT receiver hitches provide a strong and secure connection point for towing trailers, carrying bikes, transporting cargo and using other compatible 2-inch hitch accessories.
Our selection of CURT 2-inch receiver hitches includes options for trucks, SUVs, crossovers, vans and passenger vehicles. Each hitch is engineered to match specific vehicle mounting points, helping provide a clean installation and dependable performance. Depending on the vehicle application, available options may include Class 3, Class 4 and heavy-duty receiver hitches with different gross trailer weight and tongue weight capacities.
A 2" x 2" receiver opening is one of the most common hitch sizes and works with a wide range of towing accessories, including ball mounts, bike racks, cargo carriers, hitch steps and tow hooks. When towing a trailer, you may also need a properly rated trailer ball, hitch pin, wiring harness, brake controller or weight distribution system.
CURT trailer hitches feature a durable black finish designed to help protect against rust, scratches and exposure to road conditions. Many models install using existing holes in the vehicle frame, although drilling, trimming or temporary removal of vehicle components may be required for certain applications.
Use our vehicle fitment tools to find the correct CURT 2" trailer hitch for your year, make and model. Always compare the hitch rating with your vehicle’s towing capacity and the ratings of every component in your towing setup. The maximum towing capacity is determined by the lowest-rated component.
Shop CURT 2-inch trailer hitches at TowUniverse for vehicle-specific fitment, trusted towing performance and access to the accessories needed to complete your towing setup.

Yes, the CURT Class 3 Trailer Hitch, 2" Receiver, Select Lexus UX 250h 13583 (Part #BKDK13583) is designed to fit the 2019-2022 Lexus UX200.
The CURT Class 3 Trailer Hitch, 2" Receiver, Select Lexus UX 250h 13583 (Part #BKDK13583) Drilling is not required for installation. Typical installation time is 30-60 minutes. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
The CURT 13583 has a gross trailer weight (GTW) capacity of 2,000 lbs and a tongue weight (TW) capacity of 300 lbs. Never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity.
The manual does not specify which vehicles, years, cab styles, bed lengths, or drivetrains the CURT 13583 is designed for. Contact CURT product support at 877-287-8634 or visit curtmfg.com to confirm fitment for your specific vehicle.
Required tools are: ratchet, die grinder, 19mm socket, socket extension (8"), torque wrench, safety glasses, flathead screwdriver or panel trim tool, utility knife, exhaust hanger removal pliers (or a 5/8" open-end wrench and pry bar as an alternative), and a cable tie. A full tools reference guide is available at curtmfg.com/trailer-hitch-installation.
The kit includes: 1 trailer hitch, 4 carriage bolts (1/2"-13 x 1-3/4"), 4 square-hole spacers (1/4" x 1" x 2-1/2"), 4 serrated-flange nuts (1/2"-13), 4 fishwire (1/2"), and 1 cable tie (15").
Not always. The manual states that if the exhaust does not allow adequate access to the forward-most access holes on each frame rail, it may be required to temporarily lower the exhaust using the exhaust hanger removal tool. If you need to lower it, you must reinstall it to its original position after pulling the forward carriage bolts and spacers into place.
You must remove: 5 plastic rivets from the driver side and 6 from the passenger side of the fascia, plastic retainers from the studs, 2 access hole covers from the passenger frame rail, and the plastic cover and carbon canister tube from the driver-side frame rail access holes. Save 2 plastic rivets to reinstall the fascia tab after the hitch is mounted.
The fishwire is a guide tool that helps you thread the carriage bolts and spacers through the frame rail access holes without losing them inside the frame. You attach the fishwire to the carriage bolt, pass it through the spacer, thread the bolt into the coil, kink the wire to keep the spacer separate, then pull the fishwire, spacer, and bolt through the frame and out the mounting hole. The manual provides two techniques: one for rear access holes and a reverse technique for forward access holes.
No drilling is required. However, you must use a die grinder to enlarge the forward-most access holes on each frame rail to allow the carriage bolts and spacers to pass through. If frame rail caulking interferes with installation, you may need to remove it using a utility knife.
All 1/2" fasteners (carriage bolts and serrated-flange nuts) must be torqued to 110 ft-lbs using a 19mm socket and torque wrench. This torque specification should be applied during the final assembly step after the hitch is centered on the vehicle.
Yes. After raising the hitch into position and centering it on the vehicle, you should loosely secure it with the provided 1/2" serrated-flange nuts. Only after the hitch is properly centered and all fasteners are in place should you torque all 1/2" fasteners to 110 ft-lbs.
The manual instructs you to raise the trailer hitch into position and center the hitch on the vehicle before loosely securing it with the serrated-flange nuts. Specific centering measurements or alignment marks are not provided in the manual.
1. Remove plastic rivets and retainers from fascia panels. 2. Remove access hole covers and plastic cover/carbon canister tube. 3. Enlarge forward-most access holes with die grinder (lower exhaust if needed). 4. Reinstall fascia flap with saved plastic rivets. 5. Use fishwire to pull rear carriage bolts and spacers into place. 6. Use reverse fishwire technique for forward carriage bolts and spacers; reinstall exhaust if lowered. 7. Raise hitch into position, center it, and loosely secure with serrated-flange nuts. 8. Torque all 1/2" fasteners to 110 ft-lbs. 9. Secure carbon canister tube with cable tie.
After torquing all fasteners, secure the carbon canister tube to the tab in the driver-side plate using the supplied 15" cable tie.
Safety glasses must be worn at all times while installing this product. Proper tools will improve the quality of installation and reduce the time required. Never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity.
Periodic inspection of the trailer hitch should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight and structural components are secure. The manual does not specify the inspection interval or detailed maintenance procedures.
The installation difficulty level is rated as Easy. However, the manual notes that installation difficulty levels are based on time and effort involved and may vary depending on the installer's level of expertise, the condition of the vehicle, and having proper tools and equipment.
