Whatever your task at hand -- whether it's launching that boat before daybreak, setting up your camper before the rush or getting a final load to the dump before close -- CURT class 3 trailer hitches offer the strength needed for serious towing. They make it easy to hitch up and Bring It, offering a vehicle-specific fit and the weight capacity to handle a variety of trailers. Custom class 3 hitches are the most common type of receiver hitch for pickup trucks and SUVs. Because of their weight range, they are also found on full-size cars, crossovers and minivans. Each custom-fit class 3 hitch package is made for vehicle-specific mounting. This particular kit fits certain years of the Volvo XC60 (see application info to verify vehicle compatibility). It provides a weight carrying capacity of 4,000 lbs. GTW and 400 lbs. TW. CURT class 3 trailer hitches are typically used to attach and haul utility trailers, boat trailers, campers, snowmobile or ATV haulers and more (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). Each class 3 hitch has a 2" receiver tube and is tested in accordance with SAE J684 for safety. To ensure that CURT class 3 receiver hitches have what it takes for serious trailering, they are designed using a hands-on approach and are constructed with rugged, high-strength steel and precise welding. We also protect our class 3 hitches in a co-cured finish of liquid A-coat and black powder coat for superior resistance to rust, chipping and UV damage.

Many models install using existing holes in the vehicle frame, although drilling, trimming or temporary removal of vehicle components may be required for certain applications.
Use our vehicle fitment tools to find the correct CURT 2" trailer hitch for your year, make and model. Always compare the hitch rating with your vehicle’s towing capacity and the ratings of every component in your towing setup. The maximum towing capacity is determined by the lowest-rated component.

The kit includes 2 hex bolts (M10-1.5 x 45mm, CL10.9) and 2 conical-toothed washers (7/16"). The installation also uses existing M10 weldnuts and M10 flange nuts already present in the vehicle frame and bumper beam.
Yes. Installation requires removal of the rear bumper fascia and bumper beam. The bumper beam is held by three or four M10 flange nuts on each side of the vehicle. The fascia is held by four screws at the bottom, seven screws in each wheel well, and three clips on each side, plus one or two electrical connectors.
Remove: (1) four screws from the bottom of the fascia, (2) seven screws from the wheel well on both sides, (3) two bump stops (one on each side) from inside the trunk, (4) the rear bumper fascia by pressing three clips on each side and unplugging one or two connectors, and (5) the bumper beam by unscrewing three or four M10 flange nuts on each side. Save all fasteners and components for reinstallation.
No drilling is required. The hitch uses existing M10 weldnuts in the vehicle frame. However, trimming is required: the rear bumper fascia must be trimmed by cutting a centered rectangle 2-1/2" from the frontmost edge at the bottom and 3-1/2" wide. Caulk around the bumper beam should also be trimmed if applicable.
Cut a centered rectangle at the bottom of the fascia that is 2-1/2" from the frontmost edge (depth) and 3-1/2" wide (width). Use a utility knife for this cut.
All M10 hardware must be torqued to 45 lb-ft. This includes the three or four M10 flange nuts on each side of the vehicle and the provided M10 hex bolts (if applicable). Use a torque wrench to ensure proper tightness.
Start with the lower nuts on the passenger side, pushing on the bumper beam and screwing the nut on just enough for thread engagement. Repeat on the lower nuts on the driver side. Loosely install the upper nuts on both sides. Then torque the upper nuts and lower nuts on the passenger side to 45 lb-ft, and repeat on the driver side. This sequence helps ensure proper alignment.
To remove debris from weldnuts in the frame, spray lubricant or compressed air into the hole. For heavy debris, use a wire brush. Take care not to damage the threads.
The conical-toothed washer should be placed with the toothed side facing the hitch side plate, as shown in the assembly diagram. The washer sits between the hex bolt and the hitch mounting surface.
Yes. The installation requires reuse of existing hardware. Save all four screws from the bottom of the fascia, all seven screws from each wheel well, the three or four M10 flange nuts from the bumper beam on each side, and the two bump stops. These are reinstalled in Steps 6-7 after the hitch is mounted.
Yes. The rear bumper fascia has one or two electrical connectors that must be unplugged before completely removing the fascia. Be sure to unplug these connectors first to avoid damage.
It is recommended to apply a bead of RTV silicone (not included) around the frame opening to prevent water intrusion prior to hitch installation. This is optional but helps protect the vehicle from moisture damage.
Reinstall the bumper stops, electrical connector(s), and fascia after trimming the fascia (Step 6). Then reinstall all fasteners removed in Step 1 (the four screws from the bottom of the fascia and the seven screws from each wheel well) in Step 7.
Safety glasses should be worn at all times while installing this product. Never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. Read all instructions thoroughly before beginning installation.
Periodic inspection of the trailer hitch should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight and structural components are secure. Check that all M10 fasteners remain torqued to 45 lb-ft.
