Whatever your task at hand -- whether it's launching that boat before daybreak, setting up your camper before the rush or getting a final load to the dump before close -- CURT class 3 trailer hitches offer the strength needed for serious towing. They make it easy to hitch up and Bring It, offering a vehicle-specific fit and the weight capacity to handle a variety of trailers. Custom class 3 hitches are the most common type of receiver hitch for pickup trucks and SUVs. Because of their weight range, they are also found on full-size cars, crossovers and minivans. Each custom-fit class 3 hitch package is made for vehicle-specific mounting. This particular kit fits certain years of the Volvo XC60 and XC90 (see application info to verify vehicle compatibility). It provides a weight carrying capacity of 6,000 lbs. GTW and 900 lbs. TW. CURT class 3 trailer hitches are typically used to attach and haul utility trailers, boat trailers, campers, snowmobile or ATV haulers and more (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). Each class 3 hitch has a 2" receiver tube and is tested in accordance with SAE J684 for safety. To ensure that CURT class 3 receiver hitches have what it takes for serious trailering, they are designed using a hands-on approach and are constructed with rugged, high-strength steel and precise welding. We also protect our class 3 hitches in a co-cured finish of liquid A-coat and black powder coat for superior resistance to rust, chipping and UV damage.

When towing a trailer, you may also need a properly rated trailer ball, hitch pin, wiring harness, brake controller or weight distribution system.
CURT trailer hitches feature a durable black finish designed to help protect against rust, scratches and exposure to road conditions. Many models install using existing holes in the vehicle frame, although drilling, trimming or temporary removal of vehicle components may be required for certain applications.
Use our vehicle fitment tools to find the correct CURT 2" trailer hitch for your year, make and model. Always compare the hitch rating with your vehicle’s towing capacity and the ratings of every component in your towing setup. The maximum towing capacity is determined by the lowest-rated component.

The CURT Class 3 Trailer Hitch, 2" Receiver, Select Volvo XC90 Trailer Hitch (Part #BKDK13467) fits 2018-2020 Volvo XC60 models. The 2020 model year is the last year covered by this part number. For newer models, check for an updated version.
The CURT Class 3 Trailer Hitch, 2" Receiver, Select Volvo XC90 Trailer Hitch (Part #BKDK13467) Drilling is not required for installation. Typical installation time is 60-90 minutes. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
The CURT 13467 has a gross trailer weight (GTW) capacity of 6,000 lbs and a tongue weight (TW) capacity of 900 lbs. However, you must never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity, which may be lower than the hitch rating.
Yes. Installation requires removal of the rear bumper fascia and bumper beam. The bumper beam is removed by unscrewing three or four M10 flange nuts from both sides of the vehicle, and the fascia is removed by pressing clips and unplugging one or two electrical connectors. Both are reinstalled after the hitch is mounted.
Required tools are: ratchet, utility knife, 15mm socket, torque wrench, 6-inch socket extension, tape measure, T-20 Torx bit, paint marker, tin snips, and pry tool. A full tools reference guide is available at curtmfg.com/trailer-hitch-installation.
No drilling is required. The hitch uses existing M10 weldnuts on the vehicle frame. However, trimming is required: the heat shield must be trimmed with a centered rectangle 3 inches up from the bottom and 4 inches wide, plus rectangles 4 inches up from the bottom and 5 inches wide at both ends. The rear bumper fascia must also be trimmed with a centered rectangle 2.5 inches from the frontmost edge at the bottom and 3.5 inches wide.
The heat shield must be trimmed in three locations: (1) a centered rectangle 3 inches up from the bottom and 4 inches wide; (2) a rectangle 4 inches up from the bottom and 5 inches wide at the driver side; (3) a rectangle 4 inches up from the bottom and 5 inches wide at the passenger side. Use tin snips or a utility knife to make these cuts.
The rear bumper fascia must be trimmed with a centered rectangle 2.5 inches from the frontmost edge at the bottom of the fascia and 3.5 inches wide. This cut is made after the hitch is mounted and the bumper beam is reinstalled.
All M10 hardware must be torqued to 45 lb-ft. This includes the M10 flange nuts from the bumper beam and the provided M10 hex bolts with conical washers. The manual recommends torquing upper nuts first, then lower nuts, on each side of the vehicle.
The kit includes two M10-1.5 x 45mm Class 10.9 hex bolts and two 7/16-inch conical-toothed washers. These are used only if weld nuts are accessible in the bumper end panel on both sides. The hitch also reuses existing M10 flange nuts from the bumper beam.
Yes. In Step 2, you must remove two bump stops, one from each side of the vehicle inside the trunk. These are set aside and reinstalled in Step 7 after the hitch is mounted and the bumper beam is back in place.
Start with the lower nuts on the passenger side, push on the bumper beam, and screw the nut on just enough for thread engagement. Repeat on the lower nuts on the driver side. Loosely install the upper nuts on both sides. Then torque the upper nuts and lower nuts on the passenger side to 45 lb-ft. Repeat the torquing sequence on the driver side.
To remove debris from weldnuts in the frame, spray lubricant or compressed air into the hole. For heavy debris, use a wire brush. Take care not to damage the threads.
The conical-toothed washer must be installed with the toothed side facing the hitch side plate, and the flat side facing outward. The hex bolt passes through the washer into the weldnut.
Yes. The three or four M10 flange nuts removed from the bumper beam in Step 4 are reinstalled in Step 6 after the hitch is positioned. These fasteners are reused and torqued to 45 lb-ft.
The fascia mounting tabs are bent twice: (1) gently bent rearward in Step 5 to allow clearance for the trailer hitch before the heat shield is trimmed; (2) gently bent forward in Step 5 to align with the holes in the heat shield after trimming; (3) bent again in Step 8 to line up with the holes in the fascia before reinstalling fasteners.
Safety glasses must be worn at all times during installation. Additionally, never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity, even though the hitch is rated for 6,000 lbs GTW and 900 lbs tongue weight.
Periodic inspection of the trailer hitch should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight and structural components are secure. The manual does not specify the inspection interval.
Yes. When removing the rear bumper fascia in Step 3, you must unplug one or two electrical connectors from the fascia. These connectors are plugged back in when the fascia is reinstalled in Step 7.
If applicable, trim the caulk around the bumper beam when removing it in Step 4. The manual notes this is conditional ("if applicable"), suggesting not all vehicles have caulk that requires trimming.
The four screws removed from the bottom of the fascia in Step 1 must be set aside and reinstalled in Step 8 after the hitch is fully mounted and the fascia mounting tabs are aligned with the fascia holes.
The manual does not specify the vehicle make, model, or year. Contact CURT at 877.287.8634 or visit curtmfg.com to confirm fitment for your vehicle.
