Towing your vehicle behind your RV is a great way to experience more of the adventure on your cross-country excursions. Whether you're towing a compact car or a full-size truck, CURT has the perfect solution to help you Bring It! CURT towed-vehicle RV harnesses are a vehicle-specific, plug-and-play solution to wiring your vehicle for dinghy towing. They use original-equipment-compatible connectors to plug into your vehicle's wiring system without any cutting, splicing or soldering required. They provide a standard 4-way flat connector to plug into the RV socket and synchronize the vehicle's tail lights, turn signals and brake lights with the RV's. Because each towed-vehicle RV harness has a vehicle-specific design, installation is fast and easy. This particular RV dinghy towing wiring harness is designed for specific years of the Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 with LED taillights. CURT RV harnesses are also built to provide long-lasting operation. They feature integrated block diodes that protect the vehicle's circuits from the RV signals. They isolate the sensitive vehicle electronics, keeping them from overheating and short circuiting. Every CURT towed-vehicle RV harness comes ready to install with all necessary hardware included. They also come with a 4-way flat extension to provide plenty of length to plug into the RV socket, as well as a connector mounting bracket to mount the connector on the vehicle.

Yes, the CURT Custom Towed-Vehicle RV Wiring, Select Ram 1500, 2500, 3500 with LED Taillights Trailer Connector Kit (Part #BKDK58906) is designed to fit the 2013-2018 Ram 1500.
The CURT Custom Towed-Vehicle RV Wiring, Select Ram 1500, 2500, 3500 with LED Taillights Trailer Connector Kit (Part #BKDK58906) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
No. The Curt 58906 is specifically designed for RAM 1500 vehicles equipped with LED taillights. The manual does not confirm compatibility with non-LED taillight versions or other RAM models.
The kit includes: (1) Wiring Harness with 4-Flat Connector, (1) 48" 4-Flat Extension, (20) 15" Cable Ties, (1) 4-Flat Bracket, and (3) #8 Self-Tapping Ground Screws.
You will need: a Torx T20 screwdriver, an 8mm socket, a drill with a 3/32" bit, and a fish tape or stiff wire for routing the harness through the vehicle. A clean metal surface is also required for the ground screw attachment.
Open the rear tailgate. Using a Torx T20 screwdriver, remove the screws that hold both taillight assemblies to the vehicle. Slide the red connector locks and unplug the connectors. Inspect the connectors for dirt and debris and clean if necessary before proceeding.
Starting on the driver's side, position the RV harness with connectors containing yellow wires up from behind the taillight opening and between the separated vehicle harness connectors. Press the connectors firmly into the vehicle connectors until they lock into place. Pull on the connectors to ensure the locks are engaged.
Locate a clean and accessible mounting location on the vehicle near the RV harness ends within reach of the white wire and ring terminal. Remove any debris or undercoating to expose a clean metal surface, then drill a 3/32" hole. Take care not to drill through the vehicle body or any exposed surface.
Attach the ring terminal on the white wire using one of the #8 self-tapping ground screws provided. The screw should be installed in the 3/32" hole drilled in the clean metal surface as described in step 4.
Cut the cable ties on the 4-Flat portion of the harness. Route the remaining portion of the RV harness with connector ends containing the green wire through the opening behind the taillight. Then route the portion with the T-Connector ends containing green wire to the passenger side along the rear frame rail and secure the conduit to the existing factory wire harness using the cable ties provided.
Using a fish tape or stiff wire, route the portion of harness with the T-Connector ends containing green wire up through the passenger side opening. Once the T-Connector ends are routed into the taillight cavity, repeat step 3 to plug them into the vehicle connectors.
On the driver's side, route the 4-Flat portion of the RV harness along the factory harness located on the frame rail to the front of the vehicle, securing it with cable ties along the way up to the driver's side front wheel well. Avoid areas containing moving parts, areas where the harness could be cut, pinched or burned, and avoid routing near fuel lines, as this may cause fuel to ignite. Failure to follow these warnings may cause property damage, personal injury or loss of life.
Using an 8mm socket, remove the bolt on the driver's side wheel well area. Starting at the left side of the driver's side wheel well, route a fish tape up and over to the right side. Secure the 4-Flat connector to the fish tape and pull it through the wheel well cover.
Locate the front frame rail that goes across the front of the vehicle and find a suitable position to mount the 4-Flat bracket. Using the bracket as a template, mark the two holes and drill two 3/32" holes. Attach the bracket using the two remaining screws provided. Take care not to drill through the vehicle body or any exposed surface.
The 4-Flat Harness Color Code is: White = Ground, Brown = Tail Lights, Green = Right Turn and Brake Signal, Yellow = Left Turn and Brake Signal.
With the 4-Flat extension plugged into the RV harness on one end and the motorhome on the other, test that the functions work on the RAM 1500. These functions will only work on the brake/tail combination lamp.
Store the 4-Flat extension in the vehicle's glove box when not in use.
At the rear of the vehicle, secure any loose wires to the vehicle's crossmember using the cable ties provided. Then reinstall the taillights to the vehicle.
Yes, if your RAM 1500 has LED taillights. The harness is specifically designed for LED taillight models only.
Torx T20 screwdriver, 8mm socket, drill with 3/32" bit, and fish tape or stiff wire for routing.
Yes. You must drill two 3/32" holes: one for the ground screw near the RV harness ends, and two for the 4-Flat bracket on the front frame rail. Take care not to drill through the vehicle body or exposed surfaces.
The harness controls brake/tail combination lamp functions only. Wire colors are: White (Ground), Brown (Tail Lights), Green (Right Turn and Brake Signal), Yellow (Left Turn and Brake Signal).
Wiring harness with 4-Flat connector, 48" 4-Flat extension, 20 cable ties (15" each), 4-Flat bracket, and three #8 self-tapping ground screws.
Yes. You must remove both taillight assemblies using a Torx T20 screwdriver to access the connectors, then reinstall them after routing the harness.
