The CURT Grip Step receiver hitch step is the perfect way to add a convenient and highly useful step up into your vehicle, utilizing your trailer hitch. It quickly and securely installs into any standard 2-inch x 2-inch receiver hitch and provides a high-traction 26-inch x 7-inch stepping surface (hitch pin included). The Grip Step aluminum hitch step can be used on the front of the vehicle for maintenance or at the rear for accessing the truck bed or cargo area. This receiver hitch step is constructed from powder-coated aluminum to be highly weather-resistant and non-corrosive. The expanded aluminum treads provide unparalleled traction, locking onto your shoe or boot and actively resisting slips and skids. The metal design is also extremely durable, and the open treads allow dirt and debris to pass through the step, keeping it clean for future use.

The kit includes: one 2" shank, one Grip Step™ board, one adapter plate, two end caps, two support braces, eight 5/16" carriage bolts, eight 5/16" flat washers, eight 5/16" flange nuts, and four self-drilling screws.
You will need: a ratchet, a drill, a 1/2" socket, a Phillips head drill bit, and a 1/2" wrench. For a full tools reference guide, visit curtmfg.com/trailer-hitch-installation.
Assembly follows three steps: (1) Attach the two end caps (#4) to the Grip Step™ board (#2) using the four self-drilling screws (#9). (2) Using four carriage bolts (#6), flat washers (#7), and flange nuts (#8), attach the adapter plate (#3) to the 2" shank (#1). (3) Slide the two support braces (#5) into the Grip Step™ board and attach them to the adapter plate using four carriage bolts, washers, and nuts.
Four self-drilling screws (#9) are used to attach the two end caps (#4) to the Grip Step™ board (#2).
Four 5/16" carriage bolts (#6), four 5/16" flat washers (#7), and four 5/16" flange nuts (#8) attach the adapter plate (#3) to the 2" shank (#1).
Four 5/16" carriage bolts, four 5/16" flat washers, and four 5/16" flange nuts attach the two support braces (#5) to the adapter plate.
Periodic inspection of your product should be performed to ensure all hardware and components remain secure.
Assembly is required. You must attach the end caps to the board, connect the adapter plate to the shank, and install the support braces before vehicle installation.
