The Curt 51528 is a custom wiring harness for trailer lighting. The manual does not specify the vehicle application or complete product specifications.
You need a panel trim removal tool to pry up and release the push fasteners on the driver-side door jam trim.
The wiring is located at the driver-side door trim panel. The quick plug connection point is accessed by opening the driver-side door and removing the door jam trim.
Do not exceed the product rating or tow vehicle lamp load rating, whichever is lower. Exceeding either rating may cause unsafe operation or damage.
Perform periodic inspection of all wires and connections to ensure there is no visible damage or loose connections.
Open the driver-side door and use a panel trim removal tool to pry up and release the push fasteners on the door jam trim. Once the trim is removed, you can locate and access the quick plug.
Route the quick plug to the inside of the kick panel. Attach the custom wiring harness to the quick plug and route it up and behind the kick panel. At the top of the kick panel, route to a convenient location for easy access.
Test for proper function by using a test light or connecting a properly wired trailer. The manual states all steps must be followed to ensure the product will function properly.
