Fulton has produced marine and utility trailer hardware for more than a century, and its jacks, winches and couplers are a standard for light and medium-duty trailering. The XLT and F2 series cover swivel and fixed jacks, hand and powered winches from 1,500 to 3,200 pounds, and couplers built to keep working in wet, salty conditions.
With more than a hundred years of production behind it, Fulton has become the reference point for light and medium-duty trailer hardware, particularly on the marine side. That environment is the toughest test a trailer component faces. A boat trailer is reversed into fresh or salt water on every launch and left to sit wet, which finds every weakness in plating, sealing and material choice. Fulton's stated position is that the brand performs best when the weather is at its worst, and its product engineering reflects that. It sits within the Horizon Global towing group alongside Reese, Draw-Tite, Bulldog, Tekonsha and Wesbar.
Marine and utility jacks anchor the line. The XLT Series marine jack uses a bolt-through swivel mount built from three-dimensionally formed heavy-gauge steel stampings with a proprietary bushing material, a combination chosen to minimise deflection under tongue load while keeping the swivel action working after years of exposure. The F2 Series takes corrosion resistance further as the industry's only extruded aluminium marine jack with an anodised finish, which removes the rust problem at its source rather than coating over it. The wider trailer jack range covers topwind, sidewind and drop-leg configurations.
Trailer winches pull boats onto bunks and rollers. XLT Series winches use efficient gear ratios, full-length drum bearings, oil-impregnated shaft bushings and a Comfort Grip handle that makes the last few turns under load bearable, in 1,500 and 1,800 pound capacities. F2 Series winches use an enclosed frame for a cleaner look and added protection, in 1,600, 2,000 and 3,200 pound models, including two-speed options that trade line speed for cranking effort.
Couplers complete the range, including A-frame couplers matched to common tongue sizes and load ratings, serving boat owners, utility trailer users and trailer manufacturers.

The F3294-00 is a manual hand-operated work winch manufactured by Cequent Performance Products. It is available in three capacities: 1,000 lb., 1,500 lb., and 2,500 lb. The winch is designed for intermittent duty cycle lifting and lowering of loads using a hand crank. It features a ratchet pawl system that engages when pulling line in and a brake system that activates when lowering.
Cequent Performance Products offers a limited warranty of five years for Bulldog® and Fulton® products, and one year for Pro-Series® products. The warranty covers defects in material and workmanship, excluding ordinary wear and tear, provided the product is installed and used according to the instructions. The warranty does not cover damage from abuse, neglect, misuse, accidents, overloading, improper installation, or product alterations by anyone other than the manufacturer.
No. Only winches with a minimum hub diameter of 1 3/4" can accommodate steel cable. Check your winch specifications before selecting steel cable. If you are uncertain, contact Cequent Performance Products at 1-800-632-3290 or www.cequentgroup.com.
Three grade 5, 3/8" diameter bolts, flat washers, and lock nuts are required. Mounting bolts will vary in length for each application. The manual notes that mounting hardware is not supplied with the winch, so you must source these fasteners separately. Ensure the mounting stand is capable of supporting at least five times the rated capacity of the winch, and the mounting surface is equal to or greater than the footprint of the winch frame.
Mounting bolts should be torqued to 28–30 ft-lbs. Use three grade 5, 3/8" diameter bolts with flat washers and lock nuts. After installation, periodically check the mounting hardware for proper torque and re-tighten if necessary.
Attaching a rope requires no bolts, nuts, or clamps. The rope must weave through the drum outer wall and be secured beneath itself as shown in the illustration in the manual. Do not remove the drum to install the rope. The rope will be held in place by the weaving and self-securing method.
1. Pass the cable from the inside of the drum through one of the dimpled holes in the outer plate. 2. Loop the cable around the drum bearing, under itself. 3. Leave 1" of cable extending past the clamp location. 4. Torque the clamp nuts to approximately 2 ft-lbs. Do not remove the drum to install the cable.
The clamp nuts for steel cable should be torqued to approximately 2 ft-lbs. This secures the cable after it has been looped around the drum bearing with 1" of cable extending past the clamp location.
1. Assemble the handle onto the flatted input shaft end. 2. Tighten the 1/2"-13 locknut against the handle. 3. Torque to 22–25 ft-lbs. Do not over-torque. Do not adjust the double locknuts on the long end of the input shaft.
The 1/2"-13 locknut should be torqued to 22–25 ft-lbs. Do not over-torque. This fastens the handle to the flatted input shaft end.
Winches require a maximum of 45 lbs of handle force to pull their rated load. If you cannot crank the winch with one hand, you are potentially overloading the winch. Excessive force in turning the winch handle may indicate overload. Never exceed the maximum rated capacity of the winch.
A loud clicking sound from the ratchet must be heard when lifting the load. If a loud clicking sound is not heard, do not use the winch and replace the ratchet components immediately. The clicking indicates the ratchet pawl is properly engaged and the load is being safely supported.
Refer to the "Cable In/Cable Out" decal or stamp on the winch. Turn the handle according to the specified direction to lift (take line in) or lower (let line out). The ratchet must make a loud clicking sound while pulling line in. No clicking will be heard when lowering because the brake system is activated.
Always maintain a minimum of three (3) complete wraps of cable or rope on the drum. This ensures the cable or rope remains securely fastened and prevents it from slipping or unwinding completely.
No. Do not use the winch to move humans. The winch is designed solely for lifting and lowering inanimate loads. Using it to transport people creates a serious safety hazard and violates the product's intended use.
No. Winches are not designed to secure boats to trailers for towing. Specialized boat tie-down straps or boat-specific securing equipment should be used for this purpose. Using a winch for boat towing creates an unsafe condition and violates the product's intended use.
Before each use, perform the following: 1. Inspect the rope or cable and replace if damaged. 2. Check mounting hardware for proper torque and re-torque if necessary. 3. Ensure gears, ratchet pivot point, and shaft bushings are kept lubricated with a thin oil or grease. Never use worn, kinked, or frayed cable. Always ensure the cable and cable attachments are not damaged and are strong enough for the load.
The following procedures should be performed at least annually: 1. Do not get oil or grease on the friction discs. 2. Apply a drop or two of #30 weight engine oil to each bushing I.D. and to the ratchet pawl pivot points. 3. Maintain a thin layer of marine grease on the gear teeth and shaft threads. Additionally, periodically check mounting hardware for proper torque and tighten if necessary. Always replace bent, broken, or worn parts before using the product.
Use #30 weight engine oil for bushings and ratchet pawl pivot points (apply a drop or two to each location). Use marine grease for gear teeth and shaft threads (maintain a thin layer). Do not get oil or grease on the friction discs, as this could allow the load to slip or fall. Keep friction discs free of grease or oil.
Assure there is an adequate safety factor of at least 3 times the maximum load for all components used. This applies to the cable, rope, attachments, and any other components that support the load. Always verify that the cable and cable attachments are not damaged and are strong enough for the load before use.
Never release the crank handle unless the ratchet pawl is fully engaged and the load is supported. Never operate the winch with slippery, wet, or oily hands; always maintain a firm grip on the winch handle. Do not attempt to stop a winch by grabbing the handle while in motion. Never stand alongside the winch cable or rope or guide the cable or rope with your hands.
No. Never leave a weight supported from the winch while the winch is unattended. Another person may attempt to operate the winch, thereby creating an unsafe condition. Always remain present and in control when a load is suspended from the winch.
If a loud clicking sound is not heard when lifting the load, do not use the winch. Replace the ratchet components immediately. The clicking sound indicates the ratchet pawl is properly engaged. Without it, the load may slip or fall, creating a serious safety hazard.
Operator and bystanders should never position any part of their body under any portion of the winch or the load being supported. Never stand alongside the winch cable or rope or guide the cable or rope with your hands. Do not allow children to play on or around the winch or the load being supported.
Always inspect the cable and its attachment before each use to make sure they are not damaged. Never use worn, kinked, or frayed cable. If the cable or attachment breaks, the cable will whip violently, causing property damage, serious bodily injury, and/or death. Replace any damaged cable immediately.
The winch stand must be capable of supporting at least five times the rated capacity of the winch. For example, a 1,000 lb. winch requires a stand rated for at least 5,000 lbs. The mounting surface must be equal to or greater than the footprint of the winch frame.
The mounting surface must be equal to or greater than the footprint of the winch frame. This ensures the winch is properly supported and distributed across the mounting structure without overhang or stress concentration.

You need three grade 5, 3/8" diameter bolts, flat washers, and lock nuts (not supplied). Bolt length varies by application. The mounting stand must support at least 5 times the winch capacity, and the mounting surface must equal or exceed the winch frame footprint.
Mounting bolts: 28–30 ft-lbs. Steel cable clamp nuts: approximately 2 ft-lbs. Handle locknut (1/2"-13): 22–25 ft-lbs. Do not over-torque the handle locknut. Periodically re-check mounting hardware torque.
Maximum 45 lbs of handle force is required to pull the rated load. If you cannot crank with one hand, the winch is overloaded. Never exceed the maximum rated capacity.
Inspect cable or rope for damage and replace if worn, kinked, or frayed. Check mounting hardware torque and re-tighten if necessary. Verify gears, ratchet pivot, and shaft bushings are lubricated. Ensure a loud clicking sound is heard when lifting.
At least annually: apply #30 weight engine oil to bushings and ratchet pawl pivot points; maintain a thin layer of marine grease on gear teeth and shaft threads. Keep friction discs free of oil and grease. Replace bent, broken, or worn parts before use.
Always maintain at least three (3) complete wraps of cable or rope on the drum. This prevents the cable from slipping or unwinding completely.
All components (cable, rope, attachments) must have a safety factor of at least 3 times the maximum load. Verify cable and attachments are not damaged and are strong enough for the load before each use.
Do not use the winch. A loud clicking sound from the ratchet must be heard when lifting the load. If no clicking is heard, the ratchet pawl is not properly engaged and the load may slip or fall. Replace the ratchet components immediately before using the winch again.
If you cannot crank the winch with one hand, you are potentially overloading the winch. Excessive force in turning the winch handle may indicate overload. Winches require a maximum of 45 lbs of handle force to pull their rated load. Reduce the load or verify you are not exceeding the winch's maximum rated capacity.
Several issues could cause this: 1. Oil or grease on the friction discs—clean immediately. 2. The ratchet pawl is not fully engaged—ensure the clicking sound is heard and the pawl is locked. 3. The cable or attachment is damaged—inspect and replace if worn, kinked, or frayed. 4. The load exceeds the winch capacity—verify the load weight and reduce if necessary. 5. Insufficient cable wraps on the drum—ensure at least three complete wraps remain.
Never release the crank handle unless the ratchet pawl is fully engaged and the load is supported. If the load is not held, the ratchet pawl may not be fully engaged. Verify that a loud clicking sound was heard when lifting. If the ratchet is not clicking, replace the ratchet components immediately. Do not leave the load unattended on the winch.
Periodically check mounting hardware for proper torque and tighten if necessary. Re-torque the three grade 5, 3/8" diameter mounting bolts to 28–30 ft-lbs using a torque wrench. Ensure the winch is secure to the mounting structure before using.
No. Never use worn, kinked, or frayed cable. If the cable or attachment breaks, the cable will whip violently, causing property damage, serious bodily injury, and/or death. Always inspect the cable and its attachment before each use. Replace any damaged cable immediately before using the winch.
