LUVERNE Grip Step wheel-to-wheel running boards equip your pickup truck for whatever job lies ahead. They offer easier truck bed access, fleet-level safety, a highly rust-free construction and a custom fit for your truck and lifestyle. Grip Step wheel-to-wheel steps are the ideal solution for better truck bed access. Whether you need to reach a truck tool box, ladder rack or some cargo in the truck bed, the wheel-to-wheel steps are extra-long, providing a convenient step up for reaching into the truck bed. Grip Step running boards are also built for hard work, featuring expanded metal treads that offer fleet-approved safety. The open treads ensure maximum traction for your boots -- whether rain or shine -- and they also help keep your truck's interior clean by allowing dirt, snow and debris to pass through the boards. For superior resistance to the elements, Grip Step wheel-to-wheel running boards are made from aluminum alloy. They're strong, lightweight and highly corrosion-resistant. To maximize this corrosion resistance, the running boards and brackets are both shielded in a durable black powder coat finish. The running boards also feature hardened plastic end caps that eliminate sharp corners and add a professional touch. All LUVERNE Grip Step wheel-to-wheel steps are designed for vehicle-specific applications. This ensures a custom fit and the easiest possible installation. The running boards mount with vehicle-specific brackets and use pre-existing mounting points to avoid difficult modifications. This particular set of wheel-to-wheel running boards is designed to fit specific years of the Ram 1500 and Dodge Ram 1500 (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).
Grip Step wheel-to-wheel running boards are designed to be the best running boards for work trucks, featuring a unique expanded metal tread pattern for superior traction and a 7" width for reliable footing.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The Model 415114 Grip Step is a universal step board assembly that can be modified to fit many vehicle applications. It consists of an aluminum extrusion step (item #1, part number 551388), support braces, end caps, and fasteners. The step can be cut to the desired length using a saber saw, chop saw, or hack saw, and cut ends should be touched up with flat black paint.
The Model 570939/400939 W2W Mega/Grip Step Brackets are designed for 09-16 RAM 1500 Pickups.
The Model 415114 Grip Step is listed as a universal application, meaning it can be adapted to fit many vehicles. However, you must follow the instructions included with the specific bracket package for your vehicle to mount the brackets correctly. The step board itself can be cut to the required length for your application.
To install the Model 415114 Grip Step, you will need a saber saw, chop saw, or hack saw to cut the step board to length. The manual does not specify other tools required for assembly or bracket installation, as those instructions are included with the specific bracket package.
The Model 415114 Grip Step includes: 20 carriage bolts (5/16-18 x 1.0", part number 108683), 20 flat washers (5/16", part number 101369), 20 serrated flange nuts (5/16-18, part number 102680), and 8 self-drilling tek screws (#8 x 1/2", part number 107958). Additional fasteners may be supplied in the specific bracket package.
No. The factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts on the right side of the vehicle are removed and will not be reused. They are replaced with new M12-110mm bolts (item #13) and washers as specified in the installation instructions.
Before starting installation, read the instructions completely and verify that all required parts listed on the service parts list are on hand. You will also need to follow the instructions included with the specific bracket package for your vehicle.
Before starting installation, read the instructions completely and verify that all required parts listed on the service parts list are on hand. Check whether a cast iron dampener is present on the rear body mount, as it must be removed if present and will not be reused.
Determine the required length for your application, then cut the step board to that length using a saber saw, chop saw, or hack saw. After cutting, touch up the cut ends with flat black paint to protect them.
The assembly sequence is: (1) Cut the step board to the required length and touch up cut ends with flat black paint. (2) Slide the appropriate number of support braces (item #2) into the channel of the step (item #1). (3) Slide the end cap (item #3) over the front and rear of each step. (4) Using the supplied #8 x 1/2" self-drilling tek screw (item #8), screw the end cap to the bottom of the step.
Set the assembled step on the mounting brackets and slide each support brace over the top of each mounting bracket. Attach the flat spacer plate (item #4) to the bottom of the step, between the support brace and the top of the mounting bracket. Using the supplied 5/16-18 x 1" carriage bolt, washer, and flange nuts (items #5, #6, #7), attach the step assembly, flat spacer plate, and mounting bracket together. Note that some flange nuts may be supplied in the specific bracket package. Set the step plate in the correct position and tighten all fasteners to 19 LB FT.
The installation sequence is: (1) Assemble the load reaction studs and hardware as specified. (2) Attach the load reaction stud assemblies to the mounting brackets. (3) On the right side of the vehicle, remove the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts and install the front, center, and rear mounting brackets using M12-110mm bolts and washers (leave fasteners finger tight). (4) If present, remove the cast iron dampener on the rear body mount. (5) Attach the rear outboard mounting bracket to the rear inboard mounting bracket. (6) Attach the inboard mounting brackets to the frame (leave loose). (7) Attach the W2W support bracket to the inboard mounting bracket and frame (leave loose). (8) Install the W2W outboard mounting bracket to the inboard W2W bracket (leave loose). (9) Attach the step plate per its instructions. (10) Tighten all bolts and nuts on the rear W2W bracket to 60 LB FT, then tighten all remaining body mount bolts. (11) Position the load reaction stud assembly so the rubber cushion is snug against the frame side and tighten the 3/8" flange nuts to 19 LB FT.
On the short threaded end of the load reaction stud, install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #17) backwards to the bottom of the thread, then install a 3/8" flat washer (item #16) and rubber cushion washer (item #15) tight up against the serrated flange nut. The end of the stud must be recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16". On the long threaded end of the stud, install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #17) backwards to near the bottom of the threads. Use a 4" stud (item #19) for the front bracket and a 3" stud (item #18) for the rear brackets.
Insert the stud from the inboard or frame side through the lowest hole in the bent flange of the bracket that will allow the rubber washer to seat firmly against the side wall of the frame. Install a flange nut (item #17) on the outboard end of the stud (finger tight only) at this stage. Final tightening occurs after the step plate is installed and the rubber cushion is positioned snug against the frame side.
During initial installation, leave the following fasteners finger tight or loose: the M12-110mm bolts attaching the front, center, and rear mounting brackets to the body mounts (section 4.1-4.4); the 3/8-16 screws attaching the rear outboard bracket to the rear inboard bracket (section 4.5); the 1/2-13 hex screws attaching the inboard mounting brackets to the frame (section 5.1); the 3/8-16 and 1/2-13 screws attaching the W2W support bracket (section 5.2); the 5/16-18 screws attaching the W2W outboard bracket to the inboard W2W bracket (section 5.1); and the 3/8" flange nuts on the load reaction studs (section 3). These are tightened in the final steps after the step plate is installed.
All fasteners attaching the Model 415114 Grip Step to the mounting brackets must be torqued to 19 LB FT. This includes the 5/16-18 x 1" carriage bolts, washers, and flange nuts.
The torque specifications for the Model 570939/400939 brackets are: 1/2"-13 flange nuts on the rear W2W bracket: 60 LB FT; 3/8" flange nuts on the load reaction studs: 19 LB FT. All other fasteners are tightened after the step plate is installed, with final tightening of the 1/2"-13 flange nuts and remaining body mount bolts occurring after the rear W2W bracket fasteners are torqued.
The end of the load reaction stud must be recessed in the rubber cushion washer (item #15) approximately 3/16". This is set during the initial assembly of the load reaction stud and hardware.
The front and center body mounts use M12-110mm bolts (item #13) with 2.0" washers (item #14). The rear body mount uses M12-110mm bolts (item #13) with 1/2" flat washers (item #21). All fasteners are left finger tight during initial installation and tightened after the step plate is installed.
Three 3/8-16 x 1.0" screws (item #20), 3/8" flat washers (item #16), and 3/8" flange nuts (item #17) are used to attach the rear outboard mounting bracket (items #7 or #8) to the rear inboard mounting bracket (items #5 or #6) in the lower mounting holes.
The W2W support bracket (item #12) is attached to the inboard mounting bracket using two 3/8-16 x 1" hex screws (item #20), two 3/8" washers (item #16), and two 3/8-16 flange nuts (item #17). It is attached to the frame using a 1/2"-13 x 1" hex screw (item #22), a 1/2" washer (item #21), and a 1/2"-13 serrated flange nut (item #23).
The W2W outboard mounting bracket (item #11) is attached to the inboard W2W bracket using two black 5/16"-18 x 1" hex screws (item #25), two black 5/16" washers (item #26), and two black 5/16"-18 flange nuts (item #24).
The inboard mounting brackets (items #9 or #10) are attached to the frame using 1/2-13 x 1.00" hex screws (item #22), 1/2" washers (item #21), and 1/2-13 serrated flange nuts (item #23). These brackets are not the same from left to right and must be left loose during initial installation.
The final step is to position the load reaction stud assembly so that the rubber cushion is snug up against the side of the frame, then tighten the 3/8" flange nuts on either side of the bracket to 19 LB FT. This occurs after all other fasteners have been tightened.
