LUVERNE Grip Step wheel-to-wheel running boards equip your pickup truck for whatever job lies ahead. They offer easier truck bed access, fleet-level safety, a highly rust-free construction and a custom fit for your truck and lifestyle. Grip Step wheel-to-wheel steps are the ideal solution for better truck bed access. Whether you need to reach a truck tool box, ladder rack or some cargo in the truck bed, the wheel-to-wheel steps are extra-long, providing a convenient step up for reaching into the truck bed. Grip Step running boards are also built for hard work, featuring expanded metal treads that offer fleet-approved safety. The open treads ensure maximum traction for your boots -- whether rain or shine -- and they also help keep your truck's interior clean by allowing dirt, snow and debris to pass through the boards. For superior resistance to the elements, Grip Step wheel-to-wheel running boards are made from aluminum alloy. They're strong, lightweight and highly corrosion-resistant. To maximize this corrosion resistance, the running boards and brackets are both shielded in a durable black powder coat finish. The running boards also feature hardened plastic end caps that eliminate sharp corners and add a professional touch. All LUVERNE Grip Step wheel-to-wheel steps are designed for vehicle-specific applications. This ensures a custom fit and the easiest possible installation. The running boards mount with vehicle-specific brackets and use pre-existing mounting points to avoid difficult modifications. This particular set of wheel-to-wheel running boards is designed to fit specific years of the Ram 1500 and Dodge Ram 1500 (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).
Grip Step wheel-to-wheel running boards are designed to be the best running boards for work trucks, featuring a unique expanded metal tread pattern for superior traction and a 7" width for reliable footing.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

Yes, the Model 400938 Regal 7/Grip Step Bracket Kit is designed for 2009+ Dodge Ram 1500 cab pickups. However, 2009 to 2012 trucks do not have obround holes in the pinch weld and will require drilling two 5/16" holes for each bracket to achieve proper location.
Yes, the Model 415114 step board can be modified from its original length to fit many applications. Cut the board to the desired length using a saber saw, chop saw, or hack saw. After cutting, use flat black paint to touch up the cut ends.
Follow this sequence: 1) Cut the board to desired length if needed and paint the cut ends. 2) Slide the appropriate number of support braces (part 551296) into the channel of the step board (part 551388). 3) Slide the end cap (part 551394) over the front and rear of each step. 4) Using the supplied #8 x 1/2" self-drilling tek screw (part 107958), screw the end cap to the bottom of the step.
1) Set the step on the mounting brackets and slide each support brace over the top of each mounting bracket. 2) Attach the flat spacer plate (part 551298) to the bottom of the step, between the support brace and the top of the mounting bracket. 3) Using the supplied 5/16-18 x 1" carriage bolt (part 108683), washer (part 101369), and flange nut (part 102680), attach the step assembly, flat spacer plate, and mounting bracket together. 4) Set the step plate in the correct position and tighten all fasteners to 19 LB FT.
All fasteners for the Model 415114 Grip Step assembly must be torqued to 19 LB FT.
To cut the step board, you will need a saber saw, chop saw, or hack saw. For assembly and attachment, you will need a wrench or socket set to tighten the 5/16-18 fasteners to 19 LB FT. A screwdriver is needed to install the #8 x 1/2" self-drilling tek screws into the end caps. Flat black paint is required to touch up cut ends.
Yes. 2009 to 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 trucks do not have obround holes in the pinch weld and will require drilling. You must drill two 5/16" holes for each bracket. To locate the drilling points, follow the bracket positioning steps (2.5 and 2.7-2.8), then mark the pinch weld for drilling while the bracket is in place.
The Model 400938 bracket kit is designed to work on both types of trucks. For trucks with threaded inserts in the rocker panel, use the M8 x 25mm screws (part 19) with 5/16" flat washers (part 20) through the slots on the upper mounting flange. For trucks without threaded inserts, install the T-bolt weldment (part 22) into the large obround hole in the rocker panel, then attach the M8 x 25mm screw through the slotted hole in the upper mounting flange.
1) Attach the mounting brackets to the vehicle pinch weld using 1/4-20 x 1" carriage bolts, washers, and flange nuts (leave finger tight). 2) For trucks without threaded inserts, install T-bolt weldments in the rocker panel obround holes and attach the plastic bolt retainer. 3) Attach the inboard mounting brackets to the frame using 1/2-13 x 1.00" hex screws, washers, and serrated flange nuts (leave loose). 4) Attach the W2W support bracket to the inboard bracket and frame using 3/8-16 x 1" hex screws and 1/2-13 x 1" hex screws (leave loose). 5) Install the W2W outboard mounting bracket using 5/16-18 x 1" hex screws (leave loose). 6) Install the step plates and adjust all brackets before final tightening.
1) On the vertical wall of the rocker panel, install the T-bolt weldment (part 22) into the large obround hole, inserting the nut end first. Be careful not to drop the T-bolt inside the rocker panel. 2) Attach the flat plastic bolt retainer (part 23) to the threaded stud of the T-bolt to keep it from falling into the rocker panel. 3) Place a flat washer (part 20) and M8 flange nut (part 21) on the threaded stud. 4) Rotate the T-bolt so the threaded nut is visible through the slotted hole in the upper mounting flange. 5) Insert an M8 x 25mm screw (part 19) with a 5/16" flat washer (part 20) through the slot.
No. The left and right mounting brackets are different. For the driver's side, use item #1 (part 553092) for the front bracket and item #2 (part 553093) for the middle and rear brackets. For the passenger side, the installation is a mirror image: use item #2 for the front bracket and item #1 for the middle and rear brackets. Additionally, the inboard W2W brackets (items #3 and #4) are not the same from left to right.
No. During installation, leave all fasteners finger tight until all brackets and step plates are installed and adjusted. Only after the step plates are installed and all brackets are properly positioned should you tighten all fasteners to their final torque specifications.

The inboard mounting brackets are attached to the frame using 1/2-13 x 1.00" hex screws (part 100085), 1/2" flat washers (part 100118), and 1/2-13 serrated flange nuts (part 100123). The kit includes 4 hex screws, 6 washers, and 4 flange nuts.
The W2W support bracket (part 552875) is attached to the inboard mounting bracket using two 3/8-16 x 1" hex screws (part 100040), two 3/8" washers (part 100062), and two 3/8-16 flange nuts (part 100181). It is also attached to the frame using one 1/2-13 x 1" hex screw (part 100085), one 1/2" washer (part 100118), and one 1/2-13 serrated flange nut (part 100123).
The W2W outboard mounting bracket (part 552125) is attached to the inboard W2W bracket using two black 5/16-18 x 1" hex screws (part 106997), two black 5/16" washers (part 106998), and two black 5/16-18 serrated flange nuts (part 106996).
For trucks with threaded inserts in the rocker panel, M8 x 25mm hex head screws (part 102549) with 5/16" flat washers (part 100034) are inserted through the slots on the upper mounting flange. The kit includes 12 screws and 12 washers for this purpose.
For trucks without threaded inserts, M8 x 25mm hex head screws (part 102549) with 5/16" flat washers (part 100034) are inserted through the slotted hole in the upper mounting flange. These screws thread into M8 flange nuts (part 105859) that are mounted on the T-bolt weldment (part 553012). The kit includes 12 screws, 12 washers, and 6 M8 flange nuts.
Yes, the Model 400938 Regal 7/Grip Step Bracket Kit is designed for 2009+ Dodge Ram 1500 cab pickups. Note: 2009–2012 trucks require drilling two 5/16" holes per bracket in the pinch weld.

All fasteners on the Model 415114 Grip Step assembly must be torqued to 19 LB FT.
No. Leave all fasteners finger tight during installation. Only tighten them fully after all brackets and step plates are installed and properly positioned.
No. Driver's side uses part 553092 (front) and part 553093 (middle/rear). Passenger side uses part 553093 (front) and part 553092 (middle/rear). Inboard W2W brackets (parts 551881 and 551882) are also side-specific.
You will need a saber saw, chop saw, or hack saw to cut the board; a wrench or socket set to torque fasteners to 19 LB FT; a screwdriver for the #8 x 1/2" tek screws; and flat black paint to touch up cut ends.
The manual warns to 'be careful not to drop the T-bolt inside of the rocker panel' but does not provide recovery instructions. To prevent this, always insert the T-bolt nut-end first and immediately attach the plastic bolt retainer (part 101572) to the threaded stud. If the T-bolt is dropped, contact the manufacturer or a qualified technician for guidance on rocker panel access and retrieval.
