They have 5" wide treads that extend the full length of the side steps, and they feature a strong, lightweight aluminum core with a stainless steel trim for a bright, clean accent. MegaStep running boards mount easily with vehicle-specific brackets, pre-installed fasteners and an adjustable design to perfectly fit your unique vehicle. LUVERNE MegaSteps are designed to offer the best features from a variety of side accessory options. Their non-skid rubber treads cover the entire topside of the boards, giving them the functionality and convenience of a running board. However, unlike most running boards, MegaSteps are styled after the popular look of many nerf bars. This makes them a unique and useful extension of your vehicle. To give MegaStep running boards an even greater advantage over other side steps, they are built to outlast the elements. We construct them with a strong, lightweight aluminum base that naturally resists rust, and we finish them with a high-polish stainless steel trim. The trim is a heavy-duty, 18-gauge stainless steel to make it more than just a fancy accent, and its highly polished finish gives the running boards a bright, long-lasting shine. Installation of LUVERNE MegaStep running boards is easy and customizable. The boards come with pre-installed fasteners and attach using high-strength, vehicle-specific mounting brackets. They are also uniquely designed to be adjustable inward, outward, forward or backward, giving you complete freedom to position the steps wherever you want them. This particular set of running boards is designed to fit specific years of the Chevy Avalanche, Silverado 1500, 2500 HD, 3500 HD, Suburban, 1500 or 2500 and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500 HD, 3500 HD, Yukon XL, 1500 or 2500 (see application info to verify fitment). Brackets for these running boards are included but ship separately.

The kit includes: one step assembly (575078 or 575088 depending on vehicle), six nylon spacer washers (107182), twelve M8 × 30 stainless steel bolts (100180), fourteen 5/16" serrated flange nuts (102680), six 5/16" square head screws (106880), six mounting brackets (551746), twelve 5/16" standard flat washers (102734), six M8 flanged nuts (105859), six 5/16" × 1.00" screws (100647), six U-nuts 5/16"-18 (105541), and six pinch weld support brackets (551666). Verify all parts are present before starting installation.

Attach the top of each mounting bracket to the vehicle using the specified hardware (U-nut, flanged nut, or bolt—see attached drawings for your specific vehicle application). Insert a nylon washer (Item #2) between the top of the mounting bracket and the bottom of the rocker panel. Install the screw (Item #3), washer (Item #7), and nut (Item #8). Position the pinch weld support bracket above the pinch weld area as shown in the drawings. Tighten to 19 lb-ft. The distance between the front bracket and second bracket must be 24 inches.

Insert three 5/16" square head screws (Item #5) into the center slot on the underside of the step plate.
Position the MEGA STEP on the mounting brackets so that the square head screws are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle. Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts (Item #4) on the square head screws and tighten to 19 lb-ft.
Tighten the mounting bracket fasteners (screw, washer, and nut assembly) to 19 lb-ft.
Tighten the 5/16" serrated flange nuts that secure the MEGA STEP plate to the mounting brackets to 19 lb-ft.
The square head screws are 5/16"-18 UNC × 1.00" (Item #5, part number 106880). Three screws are inserted into the center slot on the underside of the step plate.
The nylon spacer washers (Item #2, part number 107182) are 0.312" ID × 1.24" OD × 0.25" thick, black. Six washers are included. One washer is placed between the top of each mounting bracket and the bottom of the rocker panel.
The mounting bolts are M8 × 30 × 1.25" stainless steel, bright zinc plated (Item #3, part number 100180). Twelve bolts are included in the kit.
5/16" serrated flange nuts, hex, stainless steel (Item #4, part number 102680) are used on the square head screws. Fourteen nuts are included in the kit.
