MegaStep running boards mount easily with vehicle-specific brackets, pre-installed fasteners and an adjustable design to perfectly fit your unique vehicle. LUVERNE MegaSteps are designed to offer the best features from a variety of side accessory options. Their non-skid rubber treads cover the entire topside of the boards, giving them the functionality and convenience of a running board. However, unlike most running boards, MegaSteps are styled after the popular look of many nerf bars. This makes them a unique and useful extension of your vehicle. To give MegaStep running boards an even greater advantage over other side steps, they are built to outlast the elements. We construct them with a strong, lightweight aluminum base that naturally resists rust, and we finish them with a high-polish stainless steel trim. The trim is a heavy-duty, 18-gauge stainless steel to make it more than just a fancy accent, and its highly polished finish gives the running boards a bright, long-lasting shine. Installation of LUVERNE MegaStep running boards is easy and customizable. The boards come with pre-installed fasteners and attach using high-strength, vehicle-specific mounting brackets. They are also uniquely designed to be adjustable inward, outward, forward or backward, giving you complete freedom to position the steps wherever you want them. This particular set of running boards is designed to fit specific years of the Chevy Silverado 1500, 2500 HD, 3500 HD or Tahoe and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500 HD, 3500 HD or Yukon (see application info to verify fitment). Brackets for these running boards are included but ship separately.

Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.

The 575078 step assembly is 78.00" long and is used for Tahoe and Ext Cab models. The 575088 step assembly is 88.00" long and is used for Suburban and Crew Cab models. Select the correct assembly for your vehicle application.
Read the installation instructions completely and verify that all required parts listed in the Service Parts List are on hand before starting. Check the attached drawing for your specific vehicle application to confirm compatibility and understand the correct mounting bracket configuration for your model.
The top of each mounting bracket is attached to the vehicle using M8 × 30 bolts (Item #3) with either a U-nut, flanged nut, or serrated flange nut, depending on your specific vehicle application. See the attached drawings for your vehicle to determine which fastener type to use. A nylon washer (Item #2) is inserted between the top of the mounting bracket and the bottom of the rocker panel.
The pinch weld support bracket (Item #11) is positioned above the pinch weld area during installation. It provides structural support when the mounting bracket is fastened to the vehicle. One pinch weld support bracket is used with each mounting bracket.
The distance between the front bracket and the second bracket must be 24 inches.
Insert three (3) 5/16" square head screws (Item #5) into the center slot on the underside of the step plate. These screws will engage with the slots in the mounting brackets when the step is positioned on the vehicle.
Position the MEGA STEP on the mounting brackets so that the square head screws (inserted in Step 4) are located in the slots of the mounting brackets. The step must be centered front to rear on the vehicle. Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts (Item #4) on the square head screws and tighten to 19 lb ft.
All mounting bracket fasteners must be tightened to 19 lb ft. This applies to both the bolts securing the mounting brackets to the vehicle (Step 3) and the serrated flange nuts securing the step plate to the mounting brackets (Step 5).
The square head screws are 5/16"-18 UNC × 1.00" (Item #5). Three screws are inserted into the center slot on the underside of the step plate.
M8 × 30 × 1.25 stainless steel bolts (Item #3) are used, along with either U-nuts (Item #10), M8 flanged nuts (Item #8), or 5/16" serrated flange nuts (Item #4), depending on your specific vehicle application. See the attached drawings for your vehicle to determine which fastener type applies. Nylon spacer washers (Item #2) are placed between the mounting bracket and the rocker panel.
The nylon spacer washers (Item #2) are 0.312" inner diameter × 1.24" outer diameter × 0.25" thick. Six washers are included in the kit.
