MegaStep running boards mount easily with vehicle-specific brackets, pre-installed fasteners and an adjustable design to perfectly fit your unique vehicle. LUVERNE MegaSteps are designed to offer the best features from a variety of side accessory options. Their non-skid rubber treads cover the entire topside of the boards, giving them the functionality and convenience of a running board. However, unlike most running boards, MegaSteps are styled after the popular look of many nerf bars. This makes them a unique and useful extension of your vehicle. To give MegaStep running boards an even greater advantage over other side steps, they are built to outlast the elements. We construct them with a strong, lightweight aluminum base that naturally resists rust, and we finish them with a high-polish stainless steel trim. The trim is a heavy-duty, 18-gauge stainless steel to make it more than just a fancy accent, and its highly polished finish gives the running boards a bright, long-lasting shine. Installation of LUVERNE MegaStep running boards is easy and customizable. The boards come with pre-installed fasteners and attach using high-strength, vehicle-specific mounting brackets. They are also uniquely designed to be adjustable inward, outward, forward or backward, giving you complete freedom to position the steps wherever you want them. This particular set of running boards is designed to fit specific years of the Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon (see application info to verify fitment). Brackets for these running boards are included but ship separately.

The kit includes: 3 right front/left rear mounting brackets (part 552790), 3 left front/right rear mounting brackets (part 552791), 12 5/16"-18 × 1.00" hex bolts (part 100647), 12 5/16" flat washers (part 100034), 12 5/16" lock washers (part 100030), and 8 5/16"-18 U-nuts (part 105541). Note: the step board itself is not included and must be installed separately according to its own instructions.
Read the complete instructions and verify that all required parts listed in the Service Parts List are on hand before starting. You will need to remove plastic body plugs from the rocker panel and have the step board installation instructions available, as the step board is installed separately after the brackets are mounted.
On the left side of the vehicle, remove the plastic body plugs located on the bottom and vertical wall of the rocker panel. Insert a 5/16"-18 U-nut (part 105541) into each hole. Use the first, second, and fourth set of holes back from the front wheel opening. Repeat this process for the right side of the vehicle.
Position the mounting brackets so the holes line up with the holes on the inside wall of the rocker panel. Install the 5/16"-18 × 1.00" hex bolts (part 100647), 5/16" lock washers (part 100030), and 5/16" flat washers (part 100034) finger tight. Repeat for all brackets, then tighten all bolts to 19 lb-ft, starting with the bottom bolts followed by the top bolts.
All mounting bolts must be tightened to 19 lb-ft. Tighten the bottom bolts first, then the top bolts.
The kit includes 6 mounting brackets total: 3 right front/left rear brackets (part 552790) and 3 left front/right rear brackets (part 552791). These are installed on both the left and right sides of the vehicle.
Install the step board after tightening the mounting bolts to 19 lb-ft. The step board is installed according to the instructions included with the step board itself, which are separate from these bracket installation instructions.
