MegaStep running boards mount easily with vehicle-specific brackets, pre-installed fasteners and an adjustable design to perfectly fit your unique vehicle. LUVERNE MegaSteps are designed to offer the best features from a variety of side accessory options. Their non-skid rubber treads cover the entire topside of the boards, giving them the functionality and convenience of a running board. However, unlike most running boards, MegaSteps are styled after the popular look of many nerf bars. This makes them a unique and useful extension of your vehicle. To give MegaStep running boards an even greater advantage over other side steps, they are built to outlast the elements. We construct them with a strong, lightweight aluminum base that naturally resists rust, and we finish them with a high-polish stainless steel trim. The trim is a heavy-duty, 18-gauge stainless steel to make it more than just a fancy accent, and its highly polished finish gives the running boards a bright, long-lasting shine. Installation of LUVERNE MegaStep running boards is easy and customizable. The boards come with pre-installed fasteners and attach using high-strength, vehicle-specific mounting brackets. They are also uniquely designed to be adjustable inward, outward, forward or backward, giving you complete freedom to position the steps wherever you want them. This particular set of running boards is designed to fit specific years of the Toyota Tacoma (see application info to verify fitment). Brackets for these running boards are included but ship separately.

No, drilling is not required. The brackets attach to existing M8-1.25 factory nuts with slotted plastic plugs located on the inclined interior surfaces of the rocker panel.
Position each bracket so its holes align with the 8mm metric nuts in the rocker panel. Attach each front bracket using one M8-1.25 × 25mm hex head cap screw (part 102549) and one 5/16" flat washer (part 100034). Attach each center and rear bracket using two hex head cap screws, two flat washers, and one additional 3/8" spacer washer (part 100062) between the bracket and rocker panel.
Insert three 5/16" square head screws (part 106880) into the center slot on the underside of the step. Position the step on the brackets so the square head screws sit in the bracket slots and the step is centered front to rear. Locate the step in and out as desired. Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts (part 102680) on the square head screws and tighten to 19 lb-ft. Install serrated flange nuts on any unused square head screws in the inboard slot and tighten to 19 lb-ft.
Tighten all 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws to 19 lb-ft. This applies to both the screws in the center slot that position the step and any unused screws in the inboard slot.
