Each is set with full-width step pads that offer a non-skid surface for ultimate comfort and safety. They are also capped on each end with contoured end caps, giving them a professional look and added protection against small rocks and road debris. Both the step pads and end caps are factory-installed and securely bolted in place. To make sure these deluxe side steps maintain their classy appearance, we construct them from stainless steel. This gives them the durability to outlast rust through every season of the year, and the strength to be offer reliable footing with every climb. They are available in a high-polish stainless steel finish for a bright, eye-catching shine or a durable black powder coat for a tough, no-nonsense accent. When it comes to our Regal 7 oval side steps, we don't trust anyone else to build them with uncompromising quality. We design each one for a vehicle-specific fit. This particular set of side steps is designed to fit specific years of the Ram 1500, 2500, 3500, 4500, 5500 and Dodge Ram 1500 (see application information to verify vehicle fitment). They install using a 3" wide channel on the bottom side and high-strength steel brackets with a durable black powder coat finish (NOTE: The mounting brackets for these steps are included but shipped separately).

The three models differ in step length. Model 477078 is 76 inches, model 477088 is 86 inches, and model 477098 is 96 inches. Each model comes as a left and right pair (or left and right separately for the 96-inch version) and is pre-assembled from the factory.
For each step attachment point, the kit includes one 5/16-18 x 1" black stainless steel hex bolt (item #10), one 5/16" flat washer (item #11), and one 5/16-18 serrated flange nut (item #12). A total of 16 of each fastener are supplied to secure both left and right steps.
Yes. The steps are pre-assembled from the factory, but you must first follow the instructions included with your specific bracket package to mount the brackets to your vehicle. Only after the brackets are installed can you attach the step assembly to them.
1. Set the step on the mounting brackets. 2. Slide each support mounting plate (item #9) inside the oval step and above each bracket. 3. Insert the 5/16-18 x 1" hex bolt through the step assembly, support mounting plate, and bracket. 4. Add the flat washer and serrated flange nut. 5. Set the step plate in the correct position and tighten all fasteners to 19 LB FT.
All 5/16" fasteners (5/16-18 x 1" hex bolts) must be torqued to 19 LB FT.
The 401632 bracket kit includes: 12 pieces of 1/4-20 x 1" stainless steel carriage bolts (item #3), 12 pieces of 1/4" flat washers (item #4), 12 pieces of 1/4-20 flange nuts (item #5), 12 pieces of M8 x 25mm hex head screws (item #6), 12 pieces of 5/16" flat washers (item #7), 6 pieces of M8 flange nuts (item #8), 6 T-bolt weldments (item #9), and 6 plastic bolt retainers (item #10).
Yes, if your truck does not have obround holes in the pinch weld, you will need to drill two 5/16" holes for each bracket. To locate the holes, position the bracket in place, mark the pinch weld through the bracket's rectangular holes, then drill. Trucks from 2009 to 2012 without factory obround holes will require this drilling.
Trucks with threaded inserts use M8 x 25mm screws (item #6) and 5/16" flat washers (item #7) directly into the slots on the upper mounting flange, left finger tight. Trucks without threaded inserts require installation of a T-bolt weldment (item #9) into the large obround hole in the rocker panel, with a plastic bolt retainer (item #10) attached to prevent the T-bolt from falling inside the panel. The T-bolt then receives an M8 flange nut (item #8) and flat washer (item #7), and the M8 screw (item #6) is inserted through the slotted hole to engage the T-bolt nut.
1. Insert the T-bolt weldment (item #9) into the large obround hole in the rocker panel with the nut end first, leaving the threaded stud sticking out. 2. Attach the plastic bolt retainer (item #10) to the threaded stud to prevent the T-bolt from falling into the rocker panel. 3. Place a flat washer (item #7) and M8 flange nut (item #8) on the threaded stud, left finger tight. 4. Rotate the T-bolt so the threaded nut is visible through the slotted hole in the upper mounting flange. 5. Insert an M8 x 25mm screw (item #6) with a 5/16" flat washer (item #7) through the slotted hole to engage the nut, left finger tight.
No, the installation is a mirror image on the passenger side. For the driver side, use item #1 (front bracket), item #2 (middle and rear brackets). For the passenger side, use item #2 (front bracket) and item #1 (middle and rear brackets).
No. Leave all fasteners finger tight during bracket installation. Only after you have installed the step plates and adjusted the brackets and boards should you tighten all fasteners to their final specification.
The 401632 kit includes 6 mounting brackets total: 3 driver-side brackets (item #1: front, middle, rear) and 3 passenger-side brackets (item #2: front, middle, rear). This allows installation on both sides of the vehicle.
1. Install the driver-side front bracket (item #1) to the pinch weld using 1/4-20 carriage bolts (item #3), washers (item #4), and flange nuts (item #5), left finger tight. 2. Install the upper mounting flange using M8 x 25mm screws (item #6) and washers (item #7), left finger tight. 3. Repeat for the middle and rear brackets (item #2). 4. Mirror this process on the passenger side. 5. Install the step plates and adjust brackets and boards. 6. Tighten all fasteners to final specification.
