Each is set with full-width step pads that offer a non-skid surface for ultimate comfort and safety. They are also capped on each end with contoured end caps, giving them a professional look and added protection against small rocks and road debris. Both the step pads and end caps are factory-installed and securely bolted in place. To make sure these deluxe side steps maintain their classy appearance, we construct them from stainless steel. This gives them the durability to outlast rust through every season of the year, and the strength to be offer reliable footing with every climb. They are available in a high-polish stainless steel finish for a bright, eye-catching shine or a durable black powder coat for a tough, no-nonsense accent. When it comes to our Regal 7 oval side steps, we don't trust anyone else to build them with uncompromising quality. We design each one for a vehicle-specific fit. This particular set of side steps is designed to fit specific years of the Ram 1500, 2500, 3500, 4500, 5500 and Dodge Ram 1500 (see application information to verify vehicle fitment). They install using a 3" wide channel on the bottom side and high-strength steel brackets with a durable black powder coat finish (NOTE: The mounting brackets for these steps are included but shipped separately).

The 401631 bracket kit is designed for 2009 and newer Dodge Ram 1500 Regular Cab Pickups, and 2010 and newer Dodge Ram HD Regular Cab Pickups and Chassis Cabs. If your truck is a different model year, cab style (Crew Cab, Quad Cab), or drivetrain (not HD), check the bracket package instructions or contact the manufacturer to confirm fitment.
Model 477054 is a 52-inch step (part number 552054), and model 477060 is a 58-inch step (part number 552055). Both are REGAL 7 oval steps supplied pre-assembled from the factory. The choice depends on your vehicle's width and your preference for step length.
The step assembly includes: 5/16-18 x 1" black stainless steel hex bolts (item #10, qty 12), 5/16" flat washers (item #11, qty 12), and 5/16-18 serrated flange nuts (item #12, qty 12). These are used to attach the step to the mounting brackets. The step also includes end caps, step pads, and internal carriage bolts and nylock nuts for assembly.
The 401631 bracket kit includes: 1/4-20 x 1" stainless steel carriage bolts (item #3, qty 8), 1/4" flat washers (item #4, qty 8), 1/4-20 stainless steel flange nuts (item #5, qty 8), M8 x 25mm hex head screws (item #6, qty 8), 5/16" flat washers (item #7, qty 8), M8 flange nuts (item #8, qty 4), T-bolt weldments (item #9, qty 4), and plastic bolt retainers (item #10, qty 4). The T-bolts are used only on trucks without threaded inserts in the rocker panel.
Yes, the step is pre-assembled from the factory. The serial number label is located on the front inside driver's side step assembly. You do not need to assemble the step itself; you only need to attach it to the mounting brackets.
Yes. The manual states you must follow the instructions included with the specific bracket package you are using to mount the brackets to your vehicle. The bracket installation must be completed before you attach the step assembly to the brackets.
1. Set the step on the mounting brackets. 2. Slide each support mounting plate (item #9) inside the oval step and above each bracket. 3. Using the supplied 5/16-18 x 1" black stainless steel hex bolt, washer, and serrated flange nut (items #10, #11, #12), attach the step assembly, support mounting plate, and mounting bracket. 4. Set the step plate in the correct position. 5. Tighten all fasteners to 19 LB FT torque.
Torque all 5/16" fasteners to 19 LB FT. This applies to the 5/16-18 x 1" hex bolts, washers, and serrated flange nuts that attach the step assembly to the mounting brackets.
Yes. The manual instructs you to read the instructions completely and check that all required parts listed on the service parts list are on hand before starting the installation. This applies to both the step assembly and the bracket kit.
Drilling is required only for 2009–2012 Dodge Ram trucks that do not have obround holes in the pinch weld. These trucks require drilling two 5/16" holes for each bracket. To locate the drilling position, follow step 2.5 (install the T-bolt weldment), then skip to steps 2.7 and 2.8 with the bracket in place, and mark the pinch weld for drilling. Trucks with threaded inserts or obround holes in the rocker panel do not require drilling.
1. Place the driver's side front bracket (item #1) against the pinch weld with the lower mounting flange to the outside. 2. Align the two rectangular holes of the lower mounting flange with the two obround holes in the pinch weld. 3. Insert two 1/4-20 x 1" carriage bolts (item #3) through the lower mounting flange and pinch weld. 4. Add a 1/4" flat washer (item #4) and 1/4-20 flange nut (item #5); leave finger-tight. 5. Insert an M8 x 25mm screw (item #6) with a 5/16" flat washer (item #7) through the slots on the upper mounting flange; leave finger-tight. 6. Repeat for the rear bracket (item #2). 7. For the passenger side, use item #2 for the front bracket and item #1 for the rear bracket (mirror image). 8. Install step plates and adjust brackets before final tightening.
1. Install the T-bolt weldment (item #9) into the large obround hole on the vertical wall of the rocker panel, nut end first, leaving the threaded stud sticking out. 2. Attach the plastic bolt retainer (item #10) to the threaded stud to prevent the T-bolt from falling into the rocker panel. 3. Place the driver's side front bracket (item #1) against the pinch weld with the lower mounting flange to the outside. 4. Align and insert two 1/4-20 x 1" carriage bolts (item #3) through the lower mounting flange and pinch weld. 5. Add a 1/4" flat washer (item #4) and 1/4-20 flange nut (item #5); leave finger-tight. 6. Place a flat washer (item #7) and M8 flange nut (item #8) on the T-bolt threaded stud; leave finger-tight. 7. Rotate the T-bolt so the threaded nut is visible through the slotted hole in the upper mounting flange. 8. Insert an M8 x 25mm screw (item #6) with a 5/16" flat washer (item #7); leave finger-tight. 9. Repeat steps 2.5–2.8 for the rear bracket (item #2). 10. For the passenger side, use item #2 for the front bracket and item #1 for the rear bracket (mirror image). 11. Install step plates and adjust brackets before final tightening.

For the passenger side, the bracket positions are reversed compared to the driver's side. Use item #2 (rear bracket) for the front position and item #1 (front bracket) for the rear position. This creates a symmetrical installation on both sides of the vehicle.
You need to drill two 5/16" holes for each bracket on the pinch weld. The drilling location is determined by positioning the bracket and T-bolt assembly in place (following steps 2.5–2.8) and then marking the pinch weld before drilling.
