Want to take the family on a cross-country adventure? Or perhaps you're planning a shorter trip to your favorite campground. Whatever your destination, it's important to have the right equipment, especially when towing a fifth wheel trailer. To ensure proper hookup and safety while towing, you'll need something to attach your fifth wheel hitch in the bed on your truck. Many pickups come equipped with factory-installed rails or puck systems, but if you don't have one of these already installed, don't worry. REESE has an extensive line of mounting rails and bracket kits, custom-made to the exact specifications needed based on your truck's year, make, and model. REESE also offers several Industry Standard designs, as well as fastener kits, spacer kits, and a Power Puck mounting kit, so you can be sure you're covered, no matter what pickup you're using to tow. So make it easy. Make it fun. Make it REESE, so you can make the journey as enjoyable as the destination.

Reese has designed towing equipment since 1952 and remains a benchmark for heavy-duty towing. The line covers fifth wheel hitches such as the modular M5, gooseneck couplers including the Goose Box, air-ride and short-bed pin boxes, weight distribution systems with active sway control, and the accessories that connect them, all built to exceed published industry standards.
Reese has been pioneering towing performance since 1952, when Margaret Reese asked her husband TJ to stop travel trailers rocking every time somebody walked through them. His answer, the first pair of stabilising jacks, was simple and effective enough to change the RV industry. From that starting point Reese grew into a designer and manufacturer of complete towing systems, and today it anchors the heavy-duty end of the Horizon Global towing portfolio.
Fifth wheel towing is where the brand's engineering is most visible. The M5 fifth wheel hitch uses a modular design that breaks into manageable sections for assembly, with a wider stance, tighter tolerances and a shock absorption system aimed at the jolts that travel up through a truck bed. For owners who would rather tow from a gooseneck coupler and keep the bed clear, the Goose Box 20K replaces the trailer's king pin with a gooseneck connection carrying its own air-ride cushioning.
Pin boxes are a Reese speciality. The 5th Airborne uses air-ride technology to dampen road shock and reduce the chucking motion that makes fifth wheel towing tiring, while the Sidewinder was designed for short-bed pickups, pivoting the connection point so the trailer can turn sharply without the front cap meeting the cab.
For conventional towing, Reese weight distribution systems restore load to the tow vehicle's front axle and control sway. The Pro Round Bar distributes weight evenly while damping sway, and the Pro Dual Cam II uses active cam-based sway control that works harder the stronger the sway force becomes. Complete kits pair bars, head and shank to a rated tongue weight, and dedicated sway control kits can be added to existing setups. The products suit RV owners, horse and livestock haulers and anyone towing near the upper end of a vehicle's rating.

The Reese Fifth Wheel Hitch Mounting System Custom Install Kit RE50064-58 (Part #RE50064-58) Drilling is required for installation. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
Yes. The 50064 Custom Quick Install Mounting Kit is designed for 2007 and newer Chevrolet/GMC 1500 pickups with 5'8", 6'6", or 8' beds. The kit is for use with rail kits 58058 or 30124.
No. The 50064 is not compatible with 2005 models. For 2001-2010 2500HD/3500/3500HD trucks, the 50064 is designed for those years, but your 2005 would fall within that range. However, the manual specifies 2001-2010 for the 2500HD/3500/3500HD models. Verify your exact model year and engine configuration against the manual's application list.
No. The manual explicitly states: "DO NOT INSTALL THIS PRODUCT ON OR ATTEMPT TO TOW WITH A TRUCK WITH A BED THAT IS LESS THAN 6' LONG UNLESS A SIDEWINDER PINBOX COUPLER HAS BEEN INSTALLED ON THE TRAILER." If your trailer has a Sidewinder pinbox coupler, installation on a bed shorter than 6' is permitted.
Plastic bed liners must be cut out of the way to provide metal-to-metal contact between the mounting rails and the truck bed. Spray-in liners are permitted and do not need to be removed. The manual states: "Do not install mounting rails over plastic bed liners. Plastic bed liners must be cut out of the way to provide metal to metal contact. Mounting rails may be installed on spray in liners."
The kit includes Fastener Kit 116624, which contains: 3/4" hex bolts (qty. 4), 3/4" hex nuts (qty. 4), 3/4" flat washers large (qty. 6), 3/4" lock washers (qty. 4), 1/2" hex nuts (qty. 14), 1/2"-13 carriage bolts 2.00" (qty. 10), 3/4" pull wire (qty. 2), 1/2" pull wire (qty. 2), 1/2" bolt leaders (qty. 2), U-shape blocks (qty. 8), 1/4" X 1.50" X 2.00" offset hole blocks (qty. 8), 1/2" lock washers (qty. 12), 1/2" flat washers (qty. 6), 1/2"-13 carriage bolts 4.50" or 5.50" (qty. 4), 1/2" conical toothed washers (qty. 2), and 1/2"-13 button head bolts Grade 8 (qty. 2). For 2007+ models with OE brake controller, additional fasteners for the angle bracket are included.
Required tools are: wrenches in sizes 3/4", 7/8", 15/16", and 1-1/8"; drill bits 1/8", 1/2", 11/16", and 3/4"; a center punch; and a measuring tape. You will also need a drill to use the bits.
Yes. The first installation step for all models states: "Lower and remove spare tire." The spare tire must be reinstalled after the mounting kit installation is complete.
Yes. The manual requires removal of the exhaust heat shield from underneath the passenger side of the vehicle before beginning installation. This is step 1 of the installation process for all models.
For 2007 and newer trucks with an OE trailer brake controller, the electrical plug located on the inside of the driver's side frame rail over the rear wheel must be relocated. Loosen the two bolts on the outside of the frame and push the bolt heads through the keyhole slots to remove the plug. Attach the plug to the angle bracket supplied with the mounting kit. The bracket will later be attached to the inside of the frame with a 3/4" bolt. This step is not required for 1999-2007 Classic models or trucks without OE brake controllers.
First, drill 1/8" pilot holes through the truck bed using a center punch to mark the positions. Then enlarge these holes: to 9/16" if installing the 58058 rail kit, or to 11/16" if installing the 30124 rail kit. The manual cautions that the fuel tank is located below the driver's side bed, so be careful not to damage it when drilling.
Yes, but only for 2001-2010 2500HD/3500/3500HD models. For these trucks, after positioning the frame brackets with the enlarged holes from the bed, use the brackets as a template to drill a 1/2" hole through the vehicle frame rail. For 2007+ 1500 and 1999-2007 Classic models, the frame brackets are fastened directly without drilling through the frame.
Torque all 1/2" fasteners to 75 ft-lb. (102 N·m). This applies to the carriage bolts that fasten the rails to the frame brackets.
Torque all 3/4" fasteners to 260 ft-lb. (353 N·m).
Torque 5/8" Grade 5 bolts to 150 ft-lb. (204 N·m).
Place one mounting rail in the bed of the vehicle and center it on the floor of the truck bed. Use a measuring tape to locate the proper distance from the rail to the rear edge of the truck box. The manual provides positioning diagrams on pages 7-8 for the 58058 rail kit and pages 8 for the 30124 rail kit, which show the correct placement for 5'8", 6'6", and 8' beds.
The supplied U-shaped blocks are placed between the frame bracket or mounting rails and the truck bed to ensure metal-to-metal contact. They fill gaps and maintain proper contact between components.
Yes. To attach the angle bracket to the inside of the frame with the 3/4" bolt, use the 3/4" pull wire supplied in the kit. Push the wire through the hole in the side of the frame and over the tube welded through the frame, then bring it out the open end. Screw the bolt onto the wire and place the washer over the wire but not under the bolt head. The washer will lay flat going in over the tube in the frame.
The main difference is that 2001-2010 2500HD/3500/3500HD models require drilling a 1/2" hole through the vehicle frame rail using the frame brackets as a template (step 7), whereas 2007+ 1500 models do not require frame drilling. Both require the same bed drilling and fastening procedures. For 2007+ models with OE brake controller, the electrical plug relocation is the same for both groups.
Spacers are included to fill excessive gaps between the frame brackets and the vehicle frame rails on certain models. They are used as required to ensure proper fit and alignment. The manual notes that spacers are not required on older models but may be needed on newer ones.
Yes. For some 1500 vehicles with a box frame, use parts 8, 9, and 18 in place of parts 1, 2, 4, and 5 on the rear mounting holes only. Part 8 is a 5/8"-11 X 1.75" button head bolt Grade 8; part 9 is a 5/8" hex nut; and part 18 is a 5/8" conical washer. This substitution applies only to the rear mounting holes.
If more than one hitch product will be used with the mounting rails, both types should be used at the same time to align the rearward mounting rail. This ensures that one product does not compromise the fit of the other.
The manual states: "Under no circumstances do we recommend exceeding the towing vehicle manufacturer's recommended vehicle towing capacity." This warning appears on every page of the installation instructions and is the primary safety caution.
Always measure the truck and trailer before installing the hitch to ensure there is clearance at the cab and at the bumper to allow for turns. The manual states: "These instructions are guidelines only, actual installation is the responsibility of the installer and the owner. Always measure truck and trailer before installing hitch to be sure that there is clearance at the cab and at the bumper to allow for turns."
The 50064 fits Chevrolet/GMC 1500/2500/3500 pickups: 2007+ 1500 (5'8", 6'6", 8' bed), 2001-2010 2500HD/3500/3500HD (short and long bed), and 1999-2007 Classic 1500/2500 (5'8", 6'6", 8' bed). Minimum bed length is 6' unless a Sidewinder pinbox coupler is installed on the trailer. Verify your model year and bed length.
You need Fastener Kit 116624, wrenches (3/4", 7/8", 15/16", 1-1/8"), drill bits (1/8", 1/2", 11/16", 3/4"), a center punch, measuring tape, and a drill. All fasteners are supplied in the kit; use only those provided.
Yes. You will drill 1/8" pilot holes, then enlarge them to 9/16" (for 58058 rail kit) or 11/16" (for 30124 rail kit). For 2001-2010 2500HD/3500 models, you will also drill a 1/2" hole through the frame rail. Plastic bed liners must be cut away first.
Torque 1/2" fasteners to 75 ft-lb. (102 N·m), 3/4" fasteners to 260 ft-lb. (353 N·m), and 5/8" Grade 5 bolts to 150 ft-lb. (204 N·m).
Remove the spare tire and exhaust heat shield from the passenger side. For 2007+ models with OE trailer brake controller, relocate the electrical plug from the driver's side frame rail to the supplied angle bracket. Plastic bed liners must be cut away; spray-in liners are acceptable.
Do not install on beds shorter than 6' unless a Sidewinder pinbox coupler is installed on the trailer. Always measure truck and trailer for cab and bumper clearance before installation.
