The kit includes the transfer tank, filler neck and cap, a 3/8" drain plug, and a key (supplied only with combo models). Hardware such as bolts, washers, nuts and spacers must be purchased separately.
The tank is DOT-compliant for transporting Class 3 combustible fuels only, such as diesel. It is not approved for flammable fuels like gasoline and must never be connected to a vehicle's fuel system or used as an auxiliary fuel tank. Do not use it for storing or transporting explosives, hazardous materials, propane tanks, acetylene tanks, cutting torches or other hazardous waste.
Yes. Hardware is not included with the tank. You must purchase your own hex bolts, flat washers, lock washers and nuts to secure the mounting brackets to the truck bed. The manual provides torque specifications to help you select appropriate fasteners.
You will need: a drill, 3/8" drill bit, ratchet, socket set, tape measure and marker. These are used to mark and drill mounting holes, and to secure the tank with bolts and nuts.
Yes. You must drill 3/8" holes in the truck bed floor to mount the tank. Before drilling, check under your vehicle to ensure the drill location does not puncture, cut or obstruct any brake lines, fuel lines, electrical wires or fuel tanks. After drilling, treat or seal all fasteners and exposed metal in the holes to prevent corrosion.
Push the tank up to the truck cab and center it side-to-side. Make sure the tank is fully supported by the truck bed floor. Use the mounting brackets as a guide to mark the hole locations on the truck bed.
If any holes fall between the ribs, spacers will be required between the truck bed floor and the mounting bracket for proper installation. These spacers must be purchased separately.
Each mounting hole requires one hex bolt, two flat washers, one lock washer and one nut. Do not over-tighten the hardware. Before securing, ensure the tank is level in the truck bed.
Torque specifications depend on bolt size: M6 or 1/4" = 3 ft-lbs; M8 or 5/16" = 7 ft-lbs; M10 or 3/8" = 16 ft-lbs; M12 or 7/16" = 20 ft-lbs; 1/2" = 28 ft-lbs. These are general guidelines. If purchasing hardware, use the torque specifications provided with that hardware.
The transfer tank and pump must be grounded to avoid static charge build-up, which can result in explosion. The manual does not specify the grounding method or location; consult your dealer or the manufacturer for specific grounding instructions.
You must use an automatic shut-off nozzle, which is not provided with the tank. This is a required safety feature for fuel transfer.
Yes. You must use a fuel filter with the tank. This is a required safety and operational requirement.
No. Do not pressurize the tank. The tank must be vented at all times, and the vent cap should be removed with caution.

The tank must be lifted only when empty. The manual does not specify a weight limit; consult your dealer for the tank's empty weight and safe lifting procedures.
Yes. This product can reduce the driver's ability to clearly see roadways, vehicular or pedestrian traffic and other objects through the rear and side windows of the vehicle, which may cause an accident. Extra precaution should be taken when driving a vehicle with this product installed.
Never exceed the vehicle manufacturer's recommended capacity. The tank's capacity and your vehicle's load limits must be considered together to ensure safe operation.
Ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured before every trip. Periodically re-tighten and inspect all components for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue. With the tank installed, periodic inspections should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight.
Use mild automotive detergent to clean the tank. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or other similar products that may damage the finish. For polished, gloss and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs. Periodically re-tighten all mounting hardware and inspect for wear, corrosion and fatigue.
No. The tank is not approved for use as an auxiliary fuel tank and must never be connected to a vehicle's fuel system. It is designed only for portable fuel transfer and storage.
