UWS utility chest boxes provide unbeatable storage and security for your items, whether in the shop, at home or on the job. Each box features a corrosion-resistant aluminum construction, a stainless steel locking system, a patented RigidCore foam-filled lid and integrated tool storage -- all to keep your equipment and valuables safe, well-organized and easily accessible whenever needed. Each UWS tool box and storage box is constructed from extra-thick aluminum for increased structural strength. The tub is welded together into a single piece for weather resistance and to easily hold heavy tools and other items. The lid features a patented foam core, sandwiched between two aluminum plates. This core greatly increases the rigidity of the lid and helps prevent bending and warping, making operation very smooth. The locking mechanism of the UWS truck tool box provides excellent security for your items, featuring stainless steel, key-operated paddle handles. Stainless steel construction supplies the locks with long-lasting corrosion resistance, and they feature an internal connecting rod that allows the lid to be opened from either side of the truck. For solid protection against the elements, the lid also has a MicroSeal gasket, blocking moisture, dust and insects from getting inside and damaging your valuables. The lid also opens a full 90 degrees for easier access, and it is equipped with self-opening struts for convenient operation when your hands are full. UWS utility chest boxes are available in multiple sizes to accommodate any storage need. Like all UWS products, each one is proudly assembled right here in the USA for style and long-lasting dependability (NOTE: This product is heavily packaged for parcel shipping).

UWS designs and builds heavy-duty truck tool boxes and storage for tradespeople and truck owners. The line covers crossover and side-mount boxes, chest boxes, underbody boxes, transfer tanks and dog boxes. Every aluminum box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, with construction aimed at job-site abuse, road vibration and daily use.
UWS is a leading manufacturer and designer of truck tool boxes and truck accessories, and a Lippert brand. The company's focus is narrow and deliberate: storage that stands up to being opened and slammed shut dozens of times a day, loaded past what looks reasonable, and left outdoors in whatever weather the job brings. Its customers are electricians, plumbers, contractors, farmers, outdoorsmen and truck owners who treat a pickup as a working tool rather than transport.
The catalog covers the full range of bed storage. Crossover boxes sit across the bed behind the cab in single-lid, gull-wing, secure-lock and low-profile styles, so there is a fit whether the priority is capacity, rear visibility or working under a tonneau. Side-mount boxes mount along the bed rails and keep the bed floor free for cargo, while underbody boxes tuck beneath the frame rails of service bodies and flatbeds.
Beyond the bed, UWS makes portable chest boxes that move between vehicles and the shop, transfer tanks and combination tank-and-toolbox units for crews working away from fuel supply, and insulated, ventilated dog boxes for hunters and handlers.
Manufacturing sits at the centre of the brand's identity. Every UWS aluminum tool box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, by tradespeople with decades of experience, and the company's Rooted in Trades initiative is built around that connection to skilled manual work. Boxes use heavy-gauge aluminum, continuous welds at the seams, weather stripping to seal against rain and dust, and locking systems intended to resist tampering. The practical result is storage that keeps tools dry, organized and where they were left.

UWS | Tough. Reliable.
The package includes one utility chest box and two keys. A mounting hardware kit may or may not be included depending on the model. If the mounting hardware kit is not included, you will need to purchase your own hardware to install the chest box. The manual notes that not all models include the mounting hardware kit.
The chest box can be installed on truck beds that have raised ribs, which are used as alignment points for the two mounting locations. If your truck has a plastic drop-in bed liner, it may need to be trimmed or cut for proper attachment. Before drilling, you must check under your vehicle to ensure the drill location does not puncture brake or fuel fluid lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks or other components.
You will need: a drill, 1/2" drill bit, 11/32" drill bit, ratchet, socket set, tape measure, and level. If you are using the mounting hardware kit #003-CBOXMK, you will need both the 11/32" and 1/2" drill bits. If purchasing hardware separately, you will also need two 5/16" or M8 bolts, four washers and two lock nuts.
Before drilling, you must check under your vehicle to ensure the drill location does not puncture, cut or obstruct any brake or fuel fluid lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks or other components. You must also take precaution that all fasteners near the fuel tank do not create the possibility of fuel tank puncture or other damage during a collision. This is a critical safety step that must be completed before any drilling begins.
Place the chest box into your desired location and check for proper lid operation. In the bottom of the chest box, select two mounting points for securing the box to the truck bed. The chosen mounting points should be aligned with the raised ribs in the truck bed. This alignment is important for proper support and stability.
Use an 11/32" drill bit to drill through the chest box and truck bed. However, if you are using the mounting hardware kit #003-CBOXMK, you must first drill with the 11/32" bit, then enlarge the holes in the truck bed with a 1/2" drill bit and follow the instructions included with the hardware kit.
If your truck has a plastic drop-in bed liner, it may need to be trimmed or cut for proper attachment of the chest box. The manual does not provide specific trimming instructions, so you should assess the fit after positioning the chest box and trim as necessary to allow the mounting bolts to pass through.
The recommended torque specification for 5/16" bolts is 7 ft-lbs. This applies to the two 5/16" bolts used to secure the chest box to the truck bed. The manual notes that these are general guidelines, and if you purchase hardware separately, you should use the torque specifications provided with that hardware.
The recommended torque specification for M8 bolts is 7 ft-lbs. M8 bolts are an alternative to 5/16" bolts for securing the chest box. The manual notes that these are general guidelines, and if you purchase hardware separately, you should use the torque specifications provided with that hardware.
The chest box requires two mounting bolts. These should be either two 5/16" bolts or two M8 bolts, along with four washers and two lock nuts. The bolts are installed through the bottom of the chest box and truck bed at two mounting points aligned with the raised ribs in the truck bed.
Yes. Use a silicone-type caulk as needed to fill in any open areas around the bolt flat washer or bonded washer inside the chest box to prevent water from seeping into the chest box. This helps protect the contents from moisture and corrosion.
If the strikers are ever out of alignment, simply loosen, adjust and re-tighten them. The chest box comes with adjustable strikers that can be repositioned to ensure proper lid closure and alignment.
Do not use this product for storing or transporting flammables, explosives, hazardous materials or hazardous waste, such as containers of gasoline, solvents, gun powder, dynamite, propane tanks, acetylene tanks and cutting torches. Storing these items creates a danger of explosion.
Yes. The chest box can reduce the driver's ability to clearly see roadways, vehicular or pedestrian traffic and other objects through the rear and side windows of the vehicle, which may cause an accident. Extra precaution should be taken when driving a vehicle with this product installed.
No. Never exceed the vehicle manufacturer's recommended capacity. The chest box adds weight to your truck, and exceeding the manufacturer's capacity can affect vehicle handling, braking and safety.
The chest box must not interfere with factory-installed safety equipment. Before installation, ensure that the mounting location and the installed chest box do not obstruct or interfere with any factory safety systems, sensors or equipment on your vehicle.
After installation, ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured. Periodically re-tighten and inspect all components for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue. With the chest box installed, periodic inspections should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight before every trip.
For polished, gloss and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs on the finish. Mild automotive detergent may be used to clean the product. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or other similar products that may damage the finish.
Periodically lubricate the strikers and locks to ensure optimum performance. This helps maintain smooth operation of the lid and prevents wear on the locking mechanism.
You should treat or seal all fasteners and exposed metal in any holes drilled in the vehicle to prevent corrosion. This protects the fasteners and the truck bed from rust and extends the life of the installation.
The chest box fits truck beds with raised ribs for mounting alignment. If you have a plastic drop-in bed liner, it may need trimming. Before drilling, check under your vehicle to ensure no brake lines, fuel lines, electrical wires or fuel tanks are in the drill path.
You will need two 5/16" or M8 bolts, four washers, two lock nuts, and silicone caulk. If using the mounting hardware kit #003-CBOXMK, follow the kit instructions. You will also need a drill with 11/32" and 1/2" bits, ratchet and socket set.
Yes. You must drill through the chest box and truck bed with an 11/32" drill bit. If using the mounting hardware kit #003-CBOXMK, enlarge the truck bed holes with a 1/2" bit. Before drilling, check under your vehicle to ensure no brake lines, fuel lines, electrical wires or fuel tanks are in the drill path.
Tighten 5/16" or M8 bolts to 7 ft-lbs. These are general guidelines; if you purchase hardware separately, use the torque specifications provided with that hardware. Always use a torque wrench to ensure proper tightness.
Do not store flammables, explosives, hazardous materials or hazardous waste, including gasoline, solvents, gun powder, dynamite, propane tanks, acetylene tanks or cutting torches. Storing these items creates a danger of explosion.
