UWS 5th wheel truck tool boxes provide unbeatable storage and security for your items in the bed of your truck. Each box features a corrosion-resistant aluminum construction, a stainless steel locking system and a patented RigidCore foam-filled lid -- all to keep your equipment and valuables safe, well-organized and easily accessible whenever needed. This particular 5th wheel tool box is designed to be used when towing a 5th wheel trailer. It is built with a low profile to provide clearance for the 5th wheel trailer overhang. Each UWS truck tool box is constructed from extra-thick aluminum for increased structural strength. The tub is welded together into a single piece for weather resistance and to easily hold heavy tools and other items. The lid features our patented RigidCore foam-filled design, sandwiched between two aluminum plates. This greatly increases the strength of the lid and helps prevent bending and warping, making operation very smooth. The locking mechanism of the UWS 5th wheel tool box provides excellent security for your items, featuring stainless steel, key-operated paddle handles. Stainless steel construction supplies the locks with long-lasting corrosion resistance, and they feature an internal connecting rod that allows the lid to be opened from either side of the truck. For solid protection against the elements, the lid also has a MicroSeal gasket, blocking moisture, dust and insects from getting inside and damaging your valuables. The lid also opens a full 90 degrees for easier access, and it is equipped with self-opening struts for convenient operation when your hands are full. UWS truck tool boxes are available in multiple sizes to accommodate any storage need. Like all UWS products, each one is proudly assembled right here in the USA for style and long-lasting dependability.

UWS designs and builds heavy-duty truck tool boxes and storage for tradespeople and truck owners. The line covers crossover and side-mount boxes, chest boxes, underbody boxes, transfer tanks and dog boxes. Every aluminum box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, with construction aimed at job-site abuse, road vibration and daily use.
UWS is a leading manufacturer and designer of truck tool boxes and truck accessories, and a Lippert brand. The company's focus is narrow and deliberate: storage that stands up to being opened and slammed shut dozens of times a day, loaded past what looks reasonable, and left outdoors in whatever weather the job brings. Its customers are electricians, plumbers, contractors, farmers, outdoorsmen and truck owners who treat a pickup as a working tool rather than transport.
The catalog covers the full range of bed storage. Crossover boxes sit across the bed behind the cab in single-lid, gull-wing, secure-lock and low-profile styles, so there is a fit whether the priority is capacity, rear visibility or working under a tonneau. Side-mount boxes mount along the bed rails and keep the bed floor free for cargo, while underbody boxes tuck beneath the frame rails of service bodies and flatbeds.
Beyond the bed, UWS makes portable chest boxes that move between vehicles and the shop, transfer tanks and combination tank-and-toolbox units for crews working away from fuel supply, and insulated, ventilated dog boxes for hunters and handlers.
Manufacturing sits at the centre of the brand's identity. Every UWS aluminum tool box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, by tradespeople with decades of experience, and the company's Rooted in Trades initiative is built around that connection to skilled manual work. Boxes use heavy-gauge aluminum, continuous welds at the seams, weather stripping to seal against rain and dust, and locking systems intended to resist tampering. The practical result is storage that keeps tools dry, organized and where they were left.

UWS | Tough. Reliable.
The package includes one utility chest box, two keys, and a mounting hardware kit (though not all models include the hardware kit—you may need to purchase your own fasteners separately). If the mounting hardware kit #003-CBOXMK is not included, you will need to obtain two 5/16" or M8 bolts, four washers and two lock nuts to complete installation.
Yes, but the plastic drop-in bed liner may need to be trimmed or cut for proper attachment of the chest box. Plan to modify the liner where the mounting points align with the truck bed's raised ribs.
Yes. When selecting the two mounting points in the bottom of the chest box, they should be aligned with the raised ribs in the truck bed. This ensures proper support and load distribution.
You will need a drill, 11/32" drill bit, 1/2" drill bit, ratchet, tape measure, and socket set. If using the mounting hardware kit #003-CBOXMK, you will use the 1/2" bit to enlarge holes in the truck bed; otherwise, use the 11/32" bit for standard installation.
You will need two 5/16" or M8 bolts, four washers, and two lock nuts. These fasteners secure the chest box through the bottom and into the truck bed. If you are using the mounting hardware kit #003-CBOXMK instead, follow the instructions included with that kit.
Before drilling, check under your vehicle to ensure the drill location does not puncture, cut or obstruct any brake or fuel fluid lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks, or other components. Take special precaution that fasteners near the fuel tank do not create the possibility of fuel tank puncture or damage during a collision.
Yes. In Step 1, place the chest box into the desired location and check for proper lid operation before drilling any holes. This ensures the box is positioned correctly and functions as intended.
Use an 11/32" drill bit to drill through the chest box and truck bed for standard installation. If you are using the mounting hardware kit #003-CBOXMK, enlarge the holes in the truck bed with a 1/2" drill bit and follow the instructions included with that kit.
Yes. After installation, treat or seal all fasteners and exposed metal in any holes drilled in the vehicle to prevent corrosion. Use a silicone-type caulk as needed to fill in any open areas around the bolt flat washer or bonded washer inside the chest box to prevent water from seeping in.
The recommended torque for a 5/16" bolt is 7 ft-lbs. This applies to the fasteners securing the chest box to the truck bed. If you purchase hardware separately, use the torque specifications provided with that hardware, as the manual specifications are general guidelines.
The recommended torque for an M8 bolt is 7 ft-lbs. This applies if you use M8 fasteners instead of 5/16" bolts. If you purchase hardware separately, use the torque specifications provided with that hardware, as the manual specifications are general guidelines.
Do not use this product for storing or transporting flammables, explosives, hazardous materials or hazardous waste, such as containers of gasoline, solvents, gun powder, dynamite, propane tanks, acetylene tanks and cutting torches. Danger of explosion exists if these items are stored in the chest box.
Yes. This product can reduce the driver's ability to clearly see roadways, vehicular or pedestrian traffic and other objects through the rear and side windows of the vehicle, which may cause an accident. Extra precaution should be taken when driving a vehicle with this product installed.
Yes. Never exceed the vehicle manufacturer's recommended capacity. The manual does not specify the chest box's own capacity rating, so consult your vehicle's documentation and the dealer for specific weight limits.
After installation, ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured. Periodically re-tighten and inspect all components for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue. With the chest box installed, periodic inspections should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight.
Mild automotive detergent may be used to clean the product. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or other similar products that may damage the finish. For polished, gloss and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs on the finish.
The manual recommends periodic re-tightening and inspection of all components. Ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured before every trip, and periodically re-tighten and inspect all components for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue.
Periodically lubricate the strikers and locks to ensure optimum performance. If the strikers are ever out of alignment, simply loosen, adjust and re-tighten them.
The manual does not specify which truck models or bed lengths are compatible. Consult your dealer or the manufacturer to confirm fitment for your specific vehicle.
No. Not all models include the mounting hardware kit. You may need to purchase your own fasteners (two 5/16" or M8 bolts, four washers, and two lock nuts) separately.
Yes. You must drill two holes through the chest box and truck bed using an 11/32" drill bit (or 1/2" if using the mounting hardware kit #003-CBOXMK). Before drilling, check under your vehicle to ensure you do not puncture brake lines, fuel lines, electrical wires or fuel tanks.
Tighten all fasteners to 7 ft-lbs for 5/16" or M8 bolts. If you purchase hardware separately, use the torque specifications provided with that hardware.
No. Do not store or transport flammables, explosives, hazardous materials or hazardous waste, including gasoline, solvents, propane tanks, acetylene tanks or cutting torches. Danger of explosion exists.
Before every trip, ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured. Periodically re-tighten and inspect all components for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue. Lubricate the strikers and locks periodically.
