UWS crossover truck tool boxes are the tried-and-true way of keeping your tools organized, on-hand and fully secure no matter where you and your truck roam. Each UWS tool box is built from extra-thick aluminum welded into a single-piece tub. This provides the tool box with reliable strength and helps keep the interior sealed off from the elements. Aluminum construction also makes the box highly resistant to corrosion for long-lasting use. To add even more strength to the crossover truck tool box, the lid features our patented RigidCore foam-filled design. Layered between two sheets of aluminum, this core greatly increases the structural integrity of the lid to prevent bending and warping and to ensure smooth opening and closing. The lid is able to open to a full 90 degrees, providing better access to tools, equipment and other stored items. It also features self-opening struts to make it easy to open the box when your hands are full. This particular truck tool box features a low profile, meaning the lid is built lower than our standard lid. This provides a better view out the rear cab window and additional clearance for other items in the truck bed, if needed. To keep out moisture, dirt and even insects, the lid is also fitted with a MicroSeal gasket that seals off the inside of the tool box from the outside elements. UWS crossover truck tool boxes make it easy to keep your tools and other items organized, featuring built-in screwdriver holders and a three-compartment sliding tool tray. The tool box itself is easy to install and is available in multiple sizes to provide the perfect for your truck and lifestyle. Like all UWS products, each crossover truck tool box is proudly assembled right here in the USA for style and long-lasting dependability (NOTE: This product is heavily packaged for parcel shipping).

UWS designs and builds heavy-duty truck tool boxes and storage for tradespeople and truck owners. The line covers crossover and side-mount boxes, chest boxes, underbody boxes, transfer tanks and dog boxes. Every aluminum box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, with construction aimed at job-site abuse, road vibration and daily use.
UWS is a leading manufacturer and designer of truck tool boxes and truck accessories, and a Lippert brand. The company's focus is narrow and deliberate: storage that stands up to being opened and slammed shut dozens of times a day, loaded past what looks reasonable, and left outdoors in whatever weather the job brings. Its customers are electricians, plumbers, contractors, farmers, outdoorsmen and truck owners who treat a pickup as a working tool rather than transport.
The catalog covers the full range of bed storage. Crossover boxes sit across the bed behind the cab in single-lid, gull-wing, secure-lock and low-profile styles, so there is a fit whether the priority is capacity, rear visibility or working under a tonneau. Side-mount boxes mount along the bed rails and keep the bed floor free for cargo, while underbody boxes tuck beneath the frame rails of service bodies and flatbeds.
Beyond the bed, UWS makes portable chest boxes that move between vehicles and the shop, transfer tanks and combination tank-and-toolbox units for crews working away from fuel supply, and insulated, ventilated dog boxes for hunters and handlers.
Manufacturing sits at the centre of the brand's identity. Every UWS aluminum tool box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, by tradespeople with decades of experience, and the company's Rooted in Trades initiative is built around that connection to skilled manual work. Boxes use heavy-gauge aluminum, continuous welds at the seams, weather stripping to seal against rain and dust, and locking systems intended to resist tampering. The practical result is storage that keeps tools dry, organized and where they were left.

The UWS Bright Aluminum 69" Deep Crossover Tool Box with Low Profile (Heavy Packaging) EC10791 (Part #BHSGEC10791) fits both short bed and long bed configurations. Check the fitment chart for your specific Chevrolet Silverado 1500 configuration.
Yes, the UWS Bright Aluminum 69" Deep Crossover Tool Box with Low Profile (Heavy Packaging) EC10791 (Part #BHSGEC10791) is designed to fit the 2007-2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500.
The UWS Bright Aluminum 69" Deep Crossover Tool Box with Low Profile (Heavy Packaging) EC10791 (Part #BHSGEC10791) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
The package includes one crossover truck tool box, one key, two rail pads, two 3-inch J-hooks, two 1/4" washers, and two 1/4" nuts. A divider tray is not included with all models. Refer to your specific product documentation to confirm whether a divider tray is included with your purchase.
The tool box is designed to fit truck beds with accessible rails. The manual does not specify which vehicle models, bed lengths, cab styles or drivetrains are compatible. Contact the manufacturer or your dealer to confirm fitment for your specific truck before purchasing.
The manual instructs you to place a J-hook under the lip of the bed rail and insert the threaded end up through the slot, then secure with a washer and nut. This suggests the truck bed rails have existing slots. However, the manual does not explicitly state whether drilling is required for all vehicles or only some. Before drilling into your truck bed, check underneath to ensure the drill location does not puncture brake lines, fuel lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks or other components.
You will need a ratchet, socket set, and tape measure. The installation is rated as Easy difficulty.
Use a tape measure to ensure the tool box is centered in the truck bed. Measure before and after attaching the J-hooks. Step 1 instructs you to place the tool box with the rail pads adhered on top of the truck bed rails and measure to center it. In Step 2, after placing the J-hooks, re-measure to ensure the tool box is centered and allows lid clearance when open before fully tightening all hardware.
1. Place the tool box in the truck bed and check clearance with the lid open. Attach the adhesive side of the rail pads to the underside of the tool box ends, then place the tool box with rail pads on top of the truck bed rails. Center using a tape measure and ensure clearance between the open lid and the cab. 2. Place a J-hook under the lip of the bed rail and insert the threaded end up through the slot (use only one hole and J-hook assembly on each side). Attach with a washer and nut, snug but do not fully tighten. Repeat on the other side, re-measure for centering and lid clearance, then fully tighten all hardware. 3. Check that adjustable strikers are aligned; loosen, adjust and re-tighten if needed. Periodically lubricate strikers and locks.
The manual instructs you to snug the hardware but not fully tighten in Step 2. This allows you to re-measure the tool box position to ensure it is centered and allows proper lid clearance when open before final tightening. Once you confirm the correct position, fully tighten all hardware.
Open the tool box lid and ensure there is clearance between the open lid, the top of the truck bed, and the back of the cab. This check is performed in Step 1 before final fastening and again in Step 2 after positioning the J-hooks but before final tightening.
The rail pads have an adhesive side. Attach the adhesive side of each rail pad to the underside of the tool box ends. Once adhered, place the tool box with the rail pads on top of the truck bed rails.
Use only one hole and J-hook assembly on each side of the vehicle. The package includes two J-hooks total (one for each side).
The torque specification for 1/4" bolts is 3 ft-lbs. The manual notes that these are general guidelines. If you purchase replacement hardware, use the torque specifications provided with that hardware.
Do not use this product for storing or transporting flammables, explosives, hazardous materials or hazardous waste, such as containers of gasoline, solvents, gun powder, dynamite, propane tanks, acetylene tanks and cutting torches. Danger of explosion.
Never exceed the vehicle manufacturer's recommended capacity. The manual does not specify the tool box weight capacity; refer to your vehicle's documentation for the maximum load your truck bed can safely carry.
Yes. This product can reduce the driver's ability to clearly see roadways, vehicular or pedestrian traffic and other objects through the rear and side windows of the vehicle, which may cause an accident. Extra precaution should be taken when driving a vehicle with this product.
Before drilling into your truck bed, check under your vehicle to ensure the drill location does not puncture, cut or obstruct any brake or fuel fluid lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks, etc. Precaution must be taken that all fasteners near the fuel tank do not create the possibility of fuel tank puncture or other damage during a collision.
No. Do not interfere with factory-installed safety equipment. Ensure your installation does not obstruct or damage any factory safety systems.
Ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured. With the crossover tool box installed, periodic inspections should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight. Periodically re-tighten and inspect all components for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue.
Periodic inspections should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight. The manual recommends ensuring all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured before every trip and periodically re-tightening and inspecting all components for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue.
