UWS crossover truck tool boxes are the tried-and-true way of keeping your tools organized, on-hand and fully secure no matter where you and your truck roam. Each UWS tool box is built from extra-thick aluminum welded into a single-piece tub. This provides the tool box with reliable strength and helps keep the interior sealed off from the elements. Aluminum construction also makes the box highly resistant to corrosion for long-lasting use. This particular box features a slim-line design, providing adequate clearance for truck beds that have extremely limited space between the wheel wells and truck cab. It also features a low profile, meaning the lid is built lower than our standard lid. This provides a better view out the rear cab window and additional clearance for other items in the truck bed, if needed. To add even more strength to the crossover truck tool box, the lid features our patented RigidCore foam-filled design. Layered between two sheets of aluminum, this core greatly increases the structural integrity of the lid to prevent bending and warping and to ensure smooth opening and closing. The lid is able to open to a full 90 degrees, providing better access to tools, equipment and other stored items. It also features self-opening struts to make it easy to open the box when your hands are full. To keep out moisture, dirt and even insects, the lid is also fitted with a MicroSeal gasket that seals off the inside of the tool box from the outside elements. UWS crossover truck tool boxes make it easy to keep your tools and other items organized, featuring a three-compartment sliding tool tray. Before drilling, check under your vehicle to ensure the drill location does not puncture, cut or obstruct any brake or fuel fluid lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks, or other components. Take precaution that all fasteners near the fuel tank do not create the possibility of fuel tank puncture or other damage during a collision.
Place the tool box in the truck bed and check clearance with the lid open. Attach the adhesive side of the rail pads to the underside of the tool box ends, then place the tool box with the rail pads on top of the truck bed rails. Use a tape measure to ensure the tool box is centered in the truck bed. Open the lid and verify there is clearance between the open lid and the top and back of the cab.
Place a J-hook under the lip of the bed rail and insert the threaded end up through the slot. Use only one hole and J-hook assembly on each side. Attach with a washer and nut, and snug the hardware but do not fully tighten at this stage. Repeat on the other side. After re-measuring to ensure the tool box is centered and allows lid clearance when open, fully tighten all hardware.

The tool box comes with adjustable strikers. If the strikers are ever out of alignment, simply loosen, adjust and re-tighten them to the correct position.
Periodically lubricate the strikers and locks to ensure optimum performance. For polished, gloss and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs. Clean the product with mild automotive detergent. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or other similar products that may damage the finish. Treat or seal all fasteners and exposed metal in any holes drilled in the vehicle to prevent corrosion.
Ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured before every trip. Periodically re-tighten and inspect all components for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue. With the crossover tool box installed, periodic inspections should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight.
