Before drilling into your truck bed, check under your vehicle to ensure the drill location does not puncture, cut or obstruct any brake or fuel fluid lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks, etc. Precaution must be taken that all fasteners near the fuel tank do not create the possibility of fuel tank puncture or other damage during a collision.
Place the tool box in the truck bed and use a tape measure to ensure it is centered. Check the clearance with the lid open to ensure there is clearance between the open lid, top and back of the cab. The tool box should sit on the truck bed rails.
Attach the adhesive side of the rail pads to the underside of the tool box ends. Then place the tool box with the rail pads adhered on top of the truck bed rails.
Place a J-hook under the lip of the bed rail and insert the threaded end up through the slot. Only use one hole and J-hook assembly on each side. Attach with a washer and nut.
