Finish: BRIGHT ALUMINUM
Material: Aluminum
Part Type: Crossover
UWS crossover truck tool boxes are the tried-and-true way of keeping your tools organized, on-hand and fully secure no matter where you and your truck roam. Each UWS tool box is built from extra-thick aluminum welded into a single-piece tub. This provides the tool box with reliable strength and helps keep the interior sealed off from the elements. Aluminum construction also makes the box highly resistant to corrosion for long-lasting use. This particular box features a slim-line design, providing adequate clearance for truck beds that have extremely limited space between the wheel wells and truck cab. To add even more strength to the crossover truck tool box, the lid features our patented RigidCore foam-filled design. Layered between two sheets of aluminum, this core greatly increases the structural integrity of the lid to prevent bending and warping and to ensure smooth opening and closing. The lid is able to open to a full 90 degrees, providing better access to tools, equipment and other stored items. It also features self-opening struts to make it easy to open the box when your hands are full. To keep out moisture, dirt and even insects, the lid is also fitted with a MicroSeal gasket that seals off the inside of the tool box from the outside elements. UWS crossover truck tool boxes make it easy to keep your tools and other items organized, featuring built-in screwdriver holders and a three-compartment sliding tool tray. The tool box itself is easy to install and is available in multiple sizes to provide the perfect for your truck and lifestyle. Like all UWS products, each crossover truck tool box is proudly assembled right here in the USA for style and long-lasting dependability (NOTE: This product is heavily packaged for parcel shipping).

UWS designs and builds heavy-duty truck tool boxes and storage for tradespeople and truck owners. The line covers crossover and side-mount boxes, chest boxes, underbody boxes, transfer tanks and dog boxes. Every aluminum box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, with construction aimed at job-site abuse, road vibration and daily use.
UWS is a leading manufacturer and designer of truck tool boxes and truck accessories, and a Lippert brand. The company's focus is narrow and deliberate: storage that stands up to being opened and slammed shut dozens of times a day, loaded past what looks reasonable, and left outdoors in whatever weather the job brings. Its customers are electricians, plumbers, contractors, farmers, outdoorsmen and truck owners who treat a pickup as a working tool rather than transport.
The catalog covers the full range of bed storage. Crossover boxes sit across the bed behind the cab in single-lid, gull-wing, secure-lock and low-profile styles, so there is a fit whether the priority is capacity, rear visibility or working under a tonneau. Side-mount boxes mount along the bed rails and keep the bed floor free for cargo, while underbody boxes tuck beneath the frame rails of service bodies and flatbeds.
Beyond the bed, UWS makes portable chest boxes that move between vehicles and the shop, transfer tanks and combination tank-and-toolbox units for crews working away from fuel supply, and insulated, ventilated dog boxes for hunters and handlers.
Manufacturing sits at the centre of the brand's identity. Every UWS aluminum tool box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, by tradespeople with decades of experience, and the company's Rooted in Trades initiative is built around that connection to skilled manual work. Boxes use heavy-gauge aluminum, continuous welds at the seams, weather stripping to seal against rain and dust, and locking systems intended to resist tampering. The practical result is storage that keeps tools dry, organized and where they were left.

UWS | Tough. Reliable.
No drilling is required for the standard installation. The tool box uses adhesive rail pads and J-hook fasteners that attach to the truck bed rails without drilling. However, the manual advises checking under your vehicle before drilling into the truck bed if you ever need to, to avoid puncturing brake or fuel lines, electrical wires, or fuel tanks.
You need a ratchet, socket set, and tape measure. The manual rates the installation difficulty as Easy.
Use a tape measure to ensure the tool box is centered in the truck bed. Measure during Step 1 before fastening, then re-measure in Step 2 after placing the J-hooks but before fully tightening the hardware to confirm it remains centered.
The torque specification for 1/4" bolts is 3 ft-lbs. The manual notes these are general guidelines; if purchasing separate hardware, use the torque specifications provided with that hardware.
No. The manual explicitly states: "Danger of explosion. Do not use this product for storing or transporting flammables, explosives, hazardous materials or hazardous waste, such as containers of gasoline, solvents, gun powder, dynamite, propane tanks, acetylene tanks and cutting torches."
The manual requires that you ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured before every trip, and periodically re-tighten and inspect all components for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue. Periodic inspections should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight, but no specific retorque interval is given.
The package includes: 1 crossover truck tool box, 1 key, 2 rail pads, 2 J-hooks (3"), 2 washers (1/4"), and 2 nuts (1/4"). A divider tray is listed in the parts list but is noted as "not included with all models."
Before installation, read all instructions thoroughly. Check the clearance with the lid open to ensure there is clearance between the open lid, top and back of the cab. The manual also advises checking under your vehicle to ensure any drill location does not puncture, cut or obstruct brake or fuel fluid lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks, or other components.
Attach the adhesive side of each rail pad to the underside of the tool box ends. Once adhered, place the tool box with the rail pads on top of the truck bed rails.
Place a J-hook under the lip of the bed rail and insert the threaded end up through the slot. Use only one hole and J-hook assembly on each side. Attach with a washer and nut. Snug the hardware but do not fully tighten. After re-measuring to ensure the tool box is centered and allows lid clearance when open, fully tighten all hardware.
The manual instructs you to snug the hardware but not fully tighten it initially. This allows you to re-measure the tool box position to ensure it is centered and allows lid clearance when open. Only after confirming proper positioning should you fully tighten all hardware.
The J-hook assembly uses 1/4" washers and 1/4" nuts. The torque specification for 1/4" bolts is 3 ft-lbs.
Yes. The manual states: "This product can reduce the driver's ability to clearly see roadways, vehicular or pedestrian traffic and other objects through the rear and side windows of the vehicle, which may cause an accident. Extra precaution should be taken when driving a vehicle with this product."
Never exceed the vehicle manufacturer's recommended capacity. The manual does not specify a separate capacity for the tool box itself.
Precaution must be taken that all fasteners near the fuel tank do not create the possibility of fuel tank puncture or other damage during a collision. Additionally, all fasteners and exposed metal in any holes drilled in the vehicle should be treated or sealed to prevent corrosion.
For polished, gloss and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs. Mild automotive detergent may be used to clean the product. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or other similar products that may damage the finish.
Tool boxes come with adjustable strikers. If the strikers are ever out of alignment, simply loosen, adjust and re-tighten. Periodically lubricate the strikers and locks to ensure optimum performance.
Periodically inspect all components for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue. Ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured before every trip. With the crossover tool box installed, periodic inspections should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight.
No. The manual explicitly states: "Do not use this product for purposes other than those for which they were designed. Never modify this product."
The manual states: "Do not interfere with factory-installed safety equipment." You should verify during installation that the tool box does not obstruct or interfere with any factory safety systems.
