UWS crossover truck tool boxes are the tried-and-true way of keeping your tools organized, on-hand and fully secure no matter where you and your truck roam. Each UWS tool box is built from extra-thick aluminum welded into a single-piece tub. This provides the tool box with reliable strength and helps keep the interior sealed off from the elements. Aluminum construction also makes the box highly resistant to corrosion for long-lasting use. This particular box features a slim-line design, providing adequate clearance for truck beds that have extremely limited space between the wheel wells and truck cab. To add even more strength to the crossover truck tool box, the lid features our patented RigidCore foam-filled design. Layered between two sheets of aluminum, this core greatly increases the structural integrity of the lid to prevent bending and warping and to ensure smooth opening and closing. The lid is able to open to a full 90 degrees, providing better access to tools, equipment and other stored items. It also features self-opening struts to make it easy to open the box when your hands are full. To keep out moisture, dirt and even insects, the lid is also fitted with a MicroSeal gasket that seals off the inside of the tool box from the outside elements. UWS crossover truck tool boxes make it easy to keep your tools and other items organized, featuring built-in screwdriver holders and a three-compartment sliding tool tray. The tool box itself is easy to install and is available in multiple sizes to provide the perfect for your truck and lifestyle. Like all UWS products, each crossover truck tool box is proudly assembled right here in the USA for style and long-lasting dependability (NOTE: This product is heavily packaged for parcel shipping).

UWS designs and builds heavy-duty truck tool boxes and storage for tradespeople and truck owners. The line covers crossover and side-mount boxes, chest boxes, underbody boxes, transfer tanks and dog boxes. Every aluminum box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, with construction aimed at job-site abuse, road vibration and daily use.
UWS is a leading manufacturer and designer of truck tool boxes and truck accessories, and a Lippert brand. The company's focus is narrow and deliberate: storage that stands up to being opened and slammed shut dozens of times a day, loaded past what looks reasonable, and left outdoors in whatever weather the job brings. Its customers are electricians, plumbers, contractors, farmers, outdoorsmen and truck owners who treat a pickup as a working tool rather than transport.
The catalog covers the full range of bed storage. Crossover boxes sit across the bed behind the cab in single-lid, gull-wing, secure-lock and low-profile styles, so there is a fit whether the priority is capacity, rear visibility or working under a tonneau. Side-mount boxes mount along the bed rails and keep the bed floor free for cargo, while underbody boxes tuck beneath the frame rails of service bodies and flatbeds.
Beyond the bed, UWS makes portable chest boxes that move between vehicles and the shop, transfer tanks and combination tank-and-toolbox units for crews working away from fuel supply, and insulated, ventilated dog boxes for hunters and handlers.
Manufacturing sits at the centre of the brand's identity. Every UWS aluminum tool box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, by tradespeople with decades of experience, and the company's Rooted in Trades initiative is built around that connection to skilled manual work. Boxes use heavy-gauge aluminum, continuous welds at the seams, weather stripping to seal against rain and dust, and locking systems intended to resist tampering. The practical result is storage that keeps tools dry, organized and where they were left.

The UWS Bright Aluminum 60" Slim-Line Crossover Truck Tool Box (Heavy Packaging) EC10241 (Part #BHSGEC10241) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
The package includes one crossover truck tool box, one key, two rail pads, two 3-inch J-hooks, two 1/4" washers, and two 1/4" nuts. A divider tray is included with some models but not all.
You will need a ratchet, socket set, and tape measure. The manual rates the installation difficulty as Easy.
The tool box is designed for truck beds with rails. The manual does not specify which vehicle makes, models, years or bed lengths are compatible. Before purchasing, verify that your truck has accessible bed rails and measure your bed to ensure the tool box will fit and allow the lid to open without hitting the cab. Contact CURT Group at 877.287.8634 or consult your dealer for fitment confirmation.
The tool box uses adhesive rail pads and J-hook fasteners that attach under the bed rail lip. The manual states to check under the vehicle before drilling to avoid puncturing brake lines, fuel lines, electrical wires or fuel tanks, but does not explicitly state whether drilling is required for all installations. If the rail pads and J-hooks do not provide sufficient grip, drilling may be necessary. Consult your dealer if you are unsure.
Before installation, read all instructions thoroughly. Place the tool box in the truck bed and check clearance with the lid open to ensure it does not hit the top or back of the cab. Center the tool box in the truck bed using a tape measure. The manual also warns to check under the vehicle before any drilling to ensure the drill location does not puncture brake lines, fuel lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks or other components.
Attach the adhesive side of each rail pad to the underside of the tool box ends. Then place the tool box with the rail pads adhered on top of the truck bed rails.
Place a J-hook under the lip of the bed rail and insert the threaded end up through the slot. Use only one J-hook assembly on each side of the vehicle. Attach with a 1/4" washer and 1/4" nut. Snug the hardware but do not fully tighten at first. After re-measuring to ensure the tool box is centered and the lid has clearance when open, fully tighten all hardware.
No. When first attaching the J-hooks with the washer and nut, snug the hardware but do not fully tighten. After re-measuring to ensure the tool box is centered and the lid has proper clearance when open, then fully tighten all hardware.
Use a tape measure to measure the distance from the tool box to the truck bed rails on both sides. Adjust the tool box until it is centered. This should be done before fully tightening the J-hook fasteners.
The tool box comes with adjustable strikers. If they are out of alignment, loosen, adjust and re-tighten them. Periodically lubricate the strikers and locks to ensure optimum performance.
According to the manual's general torque guidelines, 1/4" bolts should be torqued to 3 ft-lbs. However, the manual notes that these are general guidelines. If you purchase replacement hardware, use the torque specifications provided with that hardware.
Do not use the tool box for storing or transporting flammables, explosives, hazardous materials or hazardous waste, such as containers of gasoline, solvents, gun powder, dynamite, propane tanks, acetylene tanks and cutting torches. Danger of explosion.
Yes. The product can reduce the driver's ability to clearly see roadways, vehicular or pedestrian traffic and other objects through the rear and side windows of the vehicle, which may cause an accident. Extra precaution should be taken when driving a vehicle with this product installed.
After installation, ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured. Open the tool box lid and verify there is clearance between the open lid, top and back of the cab. Periodically re-tighten and inspect all components for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue.
For polished, gloss and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs. Mild automotive detergent may be used to clean the product. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or other similar products that may damage the finish. Periodically lubricate the strikers and locks to ensure optimum performance. Treat or seal all fasteners and exposed metal in any holes drilled in the vehicle to prevent corrosion.
Periodic inspections should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight. Before every trip, ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured. Periodically re-tighten and inspect all components for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue.
Treat or seal all fasteners and exposed metal in any holes drilled in the vehicle to prevent corrosion. This is especially important if you drill into the truck bed during installation.
The tool box fits truck beds with rails. Verify your truck has accessible bed rails and measure your bed to ensure the tool box fits with the lid opening freely. Contact CURT at 877.287.8634 for specific vehicle compatibility.
