UWS crossover truck tool boxes are the tried-and-true way of keeping your tools organized, on-hand and fully secure no matter where you and your truck roam. Each UWS tool box is built from extra-thick aluminum welded into a single-piece tub. This provides the tool box with reliable strength and helps keep the interior sealed off from the elements. Aluminum construction also makes the box highly resistant to corrosion for long-lasting use. To add even more strength to the crossover truck tool box, the lid features our patented RigidCore foam-filled design. Layered between two sheets of aluminum, this core greatly increases the structural integrity of the lid to prevent bending and warping and to ensure smooth opening and closing. The lid is able to open to a full 90 degrees, providing better access to tools, equipment and other stored items. It also features self-opening struts to make it easy to open the box when your hands are full. To keep out moisture, dirt and even insects, the lid is also fitted with a MicroSeal gasket that seals off the inside of the tool box from the outside elements. UWS crossover truck tool boxes make it easy to keep your tools and other items organized, featuring built-in screwdriver holders and a three-compartment sliding tool tray. The tool box itself is easy to install and is available in multiple sizes to provide the perfect for your truck and lifestyle. Like all UWS products, each crossover truck tool box is proudly assembled right here in the USA for style and long-lasting dependability (NOTE: This product is heavily packaged for parcel shipping).

UWS designs and builds heavy-duty truck tool boxes and storage for tradespeople and truck owners. The line covers crossover and side-mount boxes, chest boxes, underbody boxes, transfer tanks and dog boxes. Every aluminum box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, with construction aimed at job-site abuse, road vibration and daily use.
UWS is a leading manufacturer and designer of truck tool boxes and truck accessories, and a Lippert brand. The company's focus is narrow and deliberate: storage that stands up to being opened and slammed shut dozens of times a day, loaded past what looks reasonable, and left outdoors in whatever weather the job brings. Its customers are electricians, plumbers, contractors, farmers, outdoorsmen and truck owners who treat a pickup as a working tool rather than transport.
The catalog covers the full range of bed storage. Crossover boxes sit across the bed behind the cab in single-lid, gull-wing, secure-lock and low-profile styles, so there is a fit whether the priority is capacity, rear visibility or working under a tonneau. Side-mount boxes mount along the bed rails and keep the bed floor free for cargo, while underbody boxes tuck beneath the frame rails of service bodies and flatbeds.
Beyond the bed, UWS makes portable chest boxes that move between vehicles and the shop, transfer tanks and combination tank-and-toolbox units for crews working away from fuel supply, and insulated, ventilated dog boxes for hunters and handlers.
Manufacturing sits at the centre of the brand's identity. Every UWS aluminum tool box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, by tradespeople with decades of experience, and the company's Rooted in Trades initiative is built around that connection to skilled manual work. Boxes use heavy-gauge aluminum, continuous welds at the seams, weather stripping to seal against rain and dust, and locking systems intended to resist tampering. The practical result is storage that keeps tools dry, organized and where they were left.

Yes, the UWS Bright Aluminum 60" Crossover Truck Tool Box (Heavy Packaging) EC10161 (Part #BHSGEC10161) is designed to fit the 2023-2026 Chevrolet Colorado.
The UWS Bright Aluminum 60" Crossover Truck Tool Box (Heavy Packaging) EC10161 (Part #BHSGEC10161) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
The kit includes one crossover truck tool box, one divider tray (not included with all models), two rail pads, two 3-inch J-hooks, two 1/4" washers, and two 1/4" nuts. A key is also provided for locking the tool box.
The manual does not specify which truck models or bed widths are compatible. Contact CURT Group at 877.287.8634 or consult your dealer to confirm fitment for your specific vehicle before purchasing.
Yes, but you must verify clearance during installation. In Step 1, open the tool box lid and ensure there is clearance between the open lid, the top of the cab, and the back of the cab. This check must be performed before final tightening of hardware.
Yes. The manual warns that this product can reduce the driver's ability to clearly see roadways, vehicular or pedestrian traffic and other objects through the rear and side windows of the vehicle, which may cause an accident. Extra precaution should be taken when driving with this product installed.
You will need a ratchet, socket set, and tape measure. The ratchet and socket set are used to tighten the 1/4" nuts and bolts. The tape measure is used to center the tool box in the truck bed during installation.
The manual does not explicitly state whether drilling is required for all installations. The J-hook assembly is designed to attach under the lip of the bed rail without drilling. However, if you must drill, you must first check under your vehicle to ensure the drill location does not puncture brake lines, fuel lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks or other components. Consult your dealer if you are unsure whether drilling is necessary for your truck.
Before drilling into your truck bed, check under your vehicle to ensure the drill location does not puncture, cut or obstruct any brake or fuel fluid lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks, or other components. Precaution must also be taken that all fasteners near the fuel tank do not create the possibility of fuel tank puncture or other damage during a collision.
In Step 1, place the tool box in the truck bed and use a tape measure to ensure it is centered. After attaching the J-hooks in Step 2, re-measure to confirm the tool box is still centered and allows lid clearance when open. Only after confirming centering and clearance should you fully tighten all hardware.
1. Place the tool box in the truck bed and check clearance with the lid open. 2. Attach the adhesive side of the rail pads to the underside of the tool box ends. 3. Place the tool box with rail pads on top of the truck bed rails. 4. Center the tool box using a tape measure. 5. Place a J-hook under the lip of each bed rail, insert the threaded end up through the slot, and attach with a washer and nut. Snug but do not fully tighten. 6. Re-measure to confirm centering and lid clearance. 7. Fully tighten all hardware.
Use only one J-hook assembly on each side of the vehicle. The J-hook is placed under the lip of the bed rail with the threaded end inserted up through the slot, then secured with a washer and nut.
No. In Step 2, snug the hardware with the washer and nut, but do not fully tighten. After re-measuring to ensure the tool box is centered and allows lid clearance when open, then fully tighten all hardware.
The torque specification for 1/4" bolts is 3 ft-lbs. This is a general guideline. If you purchase additional hardware, use the torque specifications provided with that hardware instead.
Do not use this product for storing or transporting flammables, explosives, hazardous materials or hazardous waste, such as containers of gasoline, solvents, gun powder, dynamite, propane tanks, acetylene tanks and cutting torches. Danger of explosion exists if these items are stored in the tool box.
Yes. Never exceed the vehicle manufacturer's recommended capacity. Consult your vehicle's owner manual or your dealer for the maximum load capacity of your truck bed.
No. The manual explicitly states: do not interfere with factory-installed safety equipment. Ensure the tool box does not obstruct airbags, sensors, or other safety systems. If you are unsure, consult your dealer before installation.
After installation, ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured. Open the tool box lid and verify there is clearance between the open lid, the top of the cab, and the back of the cab. Confirm the tool box is centered in the truck bed.
The manual recommends periodic re-tightening and inspection of all components for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue. Ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured before every trip. Specific re-tightening intervals are not provided; consult your dealer for a maintenance schedule.
For polished, gloss and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs. Mild automotive detergent may be used to clean the product. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or other similar products that may damage the finish.
Periodically lubricate the strikers and locks to ensure optimum performance. If the strikers are ever out of alignment, simply loosen, adjust and re-tighten them.
Treat or seal all fasteners and exposed metal in any holes drilled in the vehicle to prevent corrosion. This protects the truck bed from rust and extends the life of the installation.
The manual does not specify compatible truck models or bed widths. Contact CURT Group at 877.287.8634 or consult your dealer to confirm fitment before purchasing.
You need a ratchet, socket set, and tape measure. The installation is rated as easy difficulty.
The manual does not explicitly state whether drilling is required. The J-hook assembly attaches under the bed rail lip without drilling. If drilling is necessary, you must first check under the vehicle to avoid puncturing brake lines, fuel lines, electrical wires or fuel tanks.
