UWS crossover truck tool boxes are the tried-and-true way of keeping your tools organized, on-hand and fully secure no matter where you and your truck roam. Each UWS tool box is built from extra-thick aluminum welded into a single-piece tub. This provides the tool box with reliable strength and helps keep the interior sealed off from the elements. Aluminum construction also makes the box highly resistant to corrosion for long-lasting use. This particular box features a slim-line design, providing adequate clearance for truck beds that have extremely limited space between the wheel wells and truck cab. To add even more strength to the crossover truck tool box, the lid features our patented RigidCore foam-filled design. Layered between two sheets of aluminum, this core greatly increases the structural integrity of the lid to prevent bending and warping and to ensure smooth opening and closing. The lid is able to open to a full 90 degrees, providing better access to tools, equipment and other stored items. It also features self-opening struts to make it easy to open the box when your hands are full. To keep out moisture, dirt and even insects, the lid is also fitted with a MicroSeal gasket that seals off the inside of the tool box from the outside elements. UWS crossover truck tool boxes make it easy to keep your tools and other items organized, featuring built-in screwdriver holders and a three-compartment sliding tool tray. The tool box itself is easy to install and is available in multiple sizes to provide the perfect for your truck and lifestyle. Like all UWS products, each crossover truck tool box is proudly assembled right here in the USA for style and long-lasting dependability.

UWS designs and builds heavy-duty truck tool boxes and storage for tradespeople and truck owners. The line covers crossover and side-mount boxes, chest boxes, underbody boxes, transfer tanks and dog boxes. Every aluminum box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, with construction aimed at job-site abuse, road vibration and daily use.
UWS is a leading manufacturer and designer of truck tool boxes and truck accessories, and a Lippert brand. The company's focus is narrow and deliberate: storage that stands up to being opened and slammed shut dozens of times a day, loaded past what looks reasonable, and left outdoors in whatever weather the job brings. Its customers are electricians, plumbers, contractors, farmers, outdoorsmen and truck owners who treat a pickup as a working tool rather than transport.
The catalog covers the full range of bed storage. Crossover boxes sit across the bed behind the cab in single-lid, gull-wing, secure-lock and low-profile styles, so there is a fit whether the priority is capacity, rear visibility or working under a tonneau. Side-mount boxes mount along the bed rails and keep the bed floor free for cargo, while underbody boxes tuck beneath the frame rails of service bodies and flatbeds.
Beyond the bed, UWS makes portable chest boxes that move between vehicles and the shop, transfer tanks and combination tank-and-toolbox units for crews working away from fuel supply, and insulated, ventilated dog boxes for hunters and handlers.
Manufacturing sits at the centre of the brand's identity. Every UWS aluminum tool box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, by tradespeople with decades of experience, and the company's Rooted in Trades initiative is built around that connection to skilled manual work. Boxes use heavy-gauge aluminum, continuous welds at the seams, weather stripping to seal against rain and dust, and locking systems intended to resist tampering. The practical result is storage that keeps tools dry, organized and where they were left.

Yes, the UWS Bright Aluminum 69" Slim-Line Crossover Truck Tool Box TBS-69-SL (Part #BHSGTBS-69-SL) is designed to fit the 2004-2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500.
The UWS Bright Aluminum 69" Slim-Line Crossover Truck Tool Box TBS-69-SL (Part #BHSGTBS-69-SL) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
The package includes one crossover truck tool box, one key, one divider tray (not included with all models), two rail pads, two 3-inch J-hooks, two 1/4" washers, and two 1/4" nuts. Note that the divider tray is not included with all models, so check your specific package contents.
The manual does not specify which truck bed lengths or styles are compatible with this tool box. Before purchasing, contact the manufacturer at 877.287.8634 or consult your dealer to confirm fitment for your specific vehicle, bed length, and cab style.
Yes, clearance between the open lid and the top and back of the cab must be checked during installation. In Step 1, open the tool box lid and ensure there is clearance before proceeding. If clearance is inadequate, the tool box may not be compatible with your vehicle or cab style.
You will need a ratchet, socket set, and tape measure. These are the only tools listed as required for installation.
The manual does not explicitly state whether drilling is required for this model. The installation uses J-hooks that insert through existing bed rail slots and are secured with washers and nuts. However, the manual includes a warning to check under the truck before drilling, suggesting drilling may be necessary in some installations. Contact the manufacturer at 877.287.8634 to confirm whether drilling is required for your specific truck bed.
Before drilling into your truck bed, check underneath the vehicle to ensure the drill location does not puncture, cut or obstruct any brake fluid lines, fuel lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks, or other components. Take precaution that all fasteners near the fuel tank do not create the possibility of fuel tank puncture or other damage during a collision.
Place the tool box in the truck bed and use a tape measure to ensure it is centered. Attach the adhesive side of the rail pads to the underside of the tool box ends, then place the tool box with the rail pads adhered on top of the truck bed rails. Open the lid and check for clearance between the open lid and the top and back of the cab before proceeding to secure it.
Place a J-hook under the lip of the bed rail and insert the threaded end up through the slot. Use only one hole and J-hook assembly on each side of the vehicle. Attach with a 1/4" washer and 1/4" nut. Snug the hardware but do not fully tighten at this stage. Repeat on the other side, then re-measure to ensure the tool box is centered and allows lid clearance when open. Finally, fully tighten all hardware.
The manual instructs you to snug the hardware but not fully tighten it in Step 2 so that you can re-measure the tool box to ensure it is centered and allows lid clearance when open. Once you have confirmed proper positioning, you then fully tighten all hardware in Step 2.
The manual provides a general torque specification of 3 ft-lbs for 1/4" bolts. However, the manual notes that these are general guidelines and recommends using the torque specifications provided with the hardware if you are purchasing replacement fasteners. For the original hardware included with the tool box, apply 3 ft-lbs torque to the 1/4" nut.
Tool boxes come with adjustable strikers. If the strikers are ever out of alignment, simply loosen, adjust, and re-tighten them. Periodically lubricate the strikers and locks to ensure optimum performance.
After installation, ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured. Open the lid and verify clearance with the cab. Periodically re-tighten and inspect all components for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue. With the crossover tool box installed, periodic inspections should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight.
Use mild automotive detergent to clean the product. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or other similar products that may damage the finish. For polished, gloss and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs. Periodically lubricate the strikers and locks to ensure optimum performance.
Do not use this product for storing or transporting flammables, explosives, hazardous materials or hazardous waste, such as containers of gasoline, solvents, gun powder, dynamite, propane tanks, acetylene tanks and cutting torches. Danger of explosion.
Never exceed the vehicle manufacturer's recommended capacity. The manual does not specify the tool box weight capacity itself; you must follow your vehicle manufacturer's guidance for maximum load limits.
Yes. This product can reduce the driver's ability to clearly see roadways, vehicular or pedestrian traffic and other objects through the rear and side windows of the vehicle, which may cause an accident. Extra precaution should be taken when driving a vehicle with this product.
No. Do not interfere with factory-installed safety equipment. Ensure the tool box installation does not obstruct or damage any factory safety systems, sensors, or equipment on your vehicle.
Treat or seal all fasteners and exposed metal in any holes drilled in the vehicle to prevent corrosion. This protects your truck bed from rust and extends the life of the installation.
