UWS crossover truck tool boxes are the tried-and-true way of keeping your tools organized, on-hand and fully secure no matter where you and your truck roam. Each UWS tool box is built from extra-thick aluminum welded into a single-piece tub. This provides the tool box with reliable strength and helps keep the interior sealed off from the elements. Aluminum construction also makes the box highly resistant to corrosion for long-lasting use. This particular box features a slim-line design, providing adequate clearance for truck beds that have extremely limited space between the wheel wells and truck cab. To add even more strength to the crossover truck tool box, the lid features our patented RigidCore foam-filled design. Layered between two sheets of aluminum, this core greatly increases the structural integrity of the lid to prevent bending and warping and to ensure smooth opening and closing. The lid is able to open to a full 90 degrees, providing better access to tools, equipment and other stored items. It also features self-opening struts to make it easy to open the box when your hands are full. To keep out moisture, dirt and even insects, the lid is also fitted with a MicroSeal gasket that seals off the inside of the tool box from the outside elements. UWS crossover truck tool boxes make it easy to keep your tools and other items organized, featuring built-in screwdriver holders and a three-compartment sliding tool tray. The tool box itself is easy to install and is available in multiple sizes to provide the perfect for your truck and lifestyle. Like all UWS products, each crossover truck tool box is proudly assembled right here in the USA for style and long-lasting dependability.

UWS designs and builds heavy-duty truck tool boxes and storage for tradespeople and truck owners. The line covers crossover and side-mount boxes, chest boxes, underbody boxes, transfer tanks and dog boxes. Every aluminum box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, with construction aimed at job-site abuse, road vibration and daily use.
UWS is a leading manufacturer and designer of truck tool boxes and truck accessories, and a Lippert brand. The company's focus is narrow and deliberate: storage that stands up to being opened and slammed shut dozens of times a day, loaded past what looks reasonable, and left outdoors in whatever weather the job brings. Its customers are electricians, plumbers, contractors, farmers, outdoorsmen and truck owners who treat a pickup as a working tool rather than transport.
The catalog covers the full range of bed storage. Crossover boxes sit across the bed behind the cab in single-lid, gull-wing, secure-lock and low-profile styles, so there is a fit whether the priority is capacity, rear visibility or working under a tonneau. Side-mount boxes mount along the bed rails and keep the bed floor free for cargo, while underbody boxes tuck beneath the frame rails of service bodies and flatbeds.
Beyond the bed, UWS makes portable chest boxes that move between vehicles and the shop, transfer tanks and combination tank-and-toolbox units for crews working away from fuel supply, and insulated, ventilated dog boxes for hunters and handlers.
Manufacturing sits at the centre of the brand's identity. Every UWS aluminum tool box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, by tradespeople with decades of experience, and the company's Rooted in Trades initiative is built around that connection to skilled manual work. Boxes use heavy-gauge aluminum, continuous welds at the seams, weather stripping to seal against rain and dust, and locking systems intended to resist tampering. The practical result is storage that keeps tools dry, organized and where they were left.

Yes, the UWS Gloss Black Aluminum 69" Slim-Line Crossover Truck Tool Box TBS-69-SL-BLK (Part #BHSGTBS-69-SL-BLK) is designed to fit the 2004-2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500.
The UWS Gloss Black Aluminum 69" Slim-Line Crossover Truck Tool Box TBS-69-SL-BLK (Part #BHSGTBS-69-SL-BLK) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
The package includes one crossover truck tool box, one key, two rail pads, two 3-inch J-hooks, two 1/4" washers, and two 1/4" nuts. A divider tray is included with some models but not all. The specific contents of your package may vary depending on the model purchased.
The manual does not specify which truck models, bed lengths, cab styles or frame types are compatible with this tool box. Contact the manufacturer at 877.287.8634 or consult your dealer to confirm fitment for your specific vehicle before purchasing.
You must check clearance during installation. In Step 1, place the tool box in the truck bed and open the lid to ensure there is clearance between the open lid, the top of the cab, and the back of the cab. Re-measure clearance again in Step 2 after positioning with J-hooks. If clearance is insufficient, the tool box may not be suitable for your vehicle.
You will need a ratchet, socket set, and tape measure. The installation is rated as Easy difficulty. No power tools, drilling equipment, or lifting devices are mentioned as required.
The manual does not explicitly state whether drilling is required or optional for this installation. However, it includes a warning to check under your vehicle before drilling to ensure the drill location does not puncture brake lines, fuel lines, electrical wires, or fuel tanks. Contact the manufacturer at 877.287.8634 to confirm whether drilling is necessary for your specific truck model.
Before drilling, check under your vehicle to ensure the drill location does not puncture, cut or obstruct any brake lines, fuel lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks, or other components. Additionally, ensure that all fasteners near the fuel tank do not create the possibility of fuel tank puncture or other damage during a collision.
In Step 1, place the tool box in the truck bed with the adhesive side of the rail pads attached to the underside of the tool box ends. Position the tool box on top of the truck bed rails. Use a tape measure to ensure the tool box is centered in the truck bed. Open the lid and check for clearance between the open lid and the top and back of the cab.
In Step 2, place a J-hook under the lip of the bed rail and insert the threaded end up through the slot. Use only one J-hook assembly on each side of the vehicle. Attach with a washer and nut, and snug the hardware but do not fully tighten at this stage. Repeat on the other side. After re-measuring to ensure the tool box is centered and the lid has clearance, fully tighten all hardware.
In Step 2, you snug the hardware but do not fully tighten initially. This allows you to re-measure and adjust the tool box position to ensure it is centered in the truck bed and that the lid has proper clearance when open. Only after confirming correct positioning do you fully tighten all hardware.
General torque specifications are provided: 1/4" bolt = 3 ft-lbs., 5/16" bolt = 7 ft-lbs., 3/8" bolt = 16 ft-lbs., 7/16" bolt = 20 ft-lbs., 1/2" bolt = 28 ft-lbs. These are general guidelines; if purchasing additional hardware, use the torque specifications provided with that hardware.
Do not use this product for storing or transporting flammables, explosives, hazardous materials or hazardous waste, including containers of gasoline, solvents, gun powder, dynamite, propane tanks, acetylene tanks, and cutting torches. Danger of explosion exists if these items are stored in the tool box.
Yes. The product can reduce the driver's ability to clearly see roadways, vehicular or pedestrian traffic and other objects through the rear and side windows of the vehicle, which may cause an accident. Extra precaution should be taken when driving a vehicle with this product installed.

No. The manual explicitly states: Do not interfere with factory-installed safety equipment. During installation, ensure the tool box does not obstruct or interfere with any factory safety systems, sensors, or equipment on your vehicle.
After installation (Step 4), ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured before every trip. Periodically re-tighten and inspect all components for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue. With the crossover tool box installed, periodic inspections should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight.
For polished, gloss and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs. Clean the product with mild automotive detergent. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or other similar products that may damage the finish. Periodically lubricate the strikers and locks to ensure optimum performance. Treat or seal all fasteners and exposed metal in any holes drilled in the vehicle to prevent corrosion.
