UWS crossover truck tool boxes are the tried-and-true way of keeping your tools organized, on-hand and fully secure no matter where you and your truck roam. Each UWS tool box is built from extra-thick aluminum welded into a single-piece tub. This provides the tool box with reliable strength and helps keep the interior sealed off from the elements. Aluminum construction also makes the box highly resistant to corrosion for long-lasting use. To add even more strength to the crossover truck tool box, the lid features our patented RigidCore foam-filled design. Layered between two sheets of aluminum, this core greatly increases the structural integrity of the lid to prevent bending and warping and to ensure smooth opening and closing. The lid is able to open to a full 90 degrees, providing better access to tools, equipment and other stored items. It also features self-opening struts to make it easy to open the box when your hands are full. To keep out moisture, dirt and even insects, the lid is also fitted with a MicroSeal gasket that seals off the inside of the tool box from the outside elements. UWS crossover truck tool boxes make it easy to keep your tools and other items organized, featuring built-in screwdriver holders and a three-compartment sliding tool tray. The tool box itself is easy to install and is available in multiple sizes to provide the perfect for your truck and lifestyle. Like all UWS products, each crossover truck tool box is proudly assembled right here in the USA for style and long-lasting dependability (NOTE: This product is heavily packaged for parcel shipping).

UWS designs and builds heavy-duty truck tool boxes and storage for tradespeople and truck owners. The line covers crossover and side-mount boxes, chest boxes, underbody boxes, transfer tanks and dog boxes. Every aluminum box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, with construction aimed at job-site abuse, road vibration and daily use.
UWS is a leading manufacturer and designer of truck tool boxes and truck accessories, and a Lippert brand. The company's focus is narrow and deliberate: storage that stands up to being opened and slammed shut dozens of times a day, loaded past what looks reasonable, and left outdoors in whatever weather the job brings. Its customers are electricians, plumbers, contractors, farmers, outdoorsmen and truck owners who treat a pickup as a working tool rather than transport.
The catalog covers the full range of bed storage. Crossover boxes sit across the bed behind the cab in single-lid, gull-wing, secure-lock and low-profile styles, so there is a fit whether the priority is capacity, rear visibility or working under a tonneau. Side-mount boxes mount along the bed rails and keep the bed floor free for cargo, while underbody boxes tuck beneath the frame rails of service bodies and flatbeds.
Beyond the bed, UWS makes portable chest boxes that move between vehicles and the shop, transfer tanks and combination tank-and-toolbox units for crews working away from fuel supply, and insulated, ventilated dog boxes for hunters and handlers.
Manufacturing sits at the centre of the brand's identity. Every UWS aluminum tool box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, by tradespeople with decades of experience, and the company's Rooted in Trades initiative is built around that connection to skilled manual work. Boxes use heavy-gauge aluminum, continuous welds at the seams, weather stripping to seal against rain and dust, and locking systems intended to resist tampering. The practical result is storage that keeps tools dry, organized and where they were left.

The UWS Gloss Black Aluminum 63" Angled Crossover Truck Tool Box (Heavy Packaging) EC10282 (Part #BHSGEC10282) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
The kit includes one crossover truck tool box, one divider tray (not included with all models), two rail pads, two 3-inch J-hooks, two 1/4" washers, and two 1/4" nuts. A key is also provided. Note that the divider tray may not be included depending on your specific model.
You will need a ratchet, socket set, and tape measure. These are the only tools required for installation.
The tool box is designed to fit across truck bed rails in a crossover configuration. Before purchasing, verify that your truck has accessible bed rails and that the tool box will not interfere with your cab when the lid is open. The manual recommends checking clearance with the lid open before final installation.
Yes. The manual warns that the product can reduce the driver's ability to clearly see roadways, vehicular or pedestrian traffic and other objects through the rear and side windows of the vehicle, which may cause an accident. Extra precaution should be taken when driving with this product installed.
The two 3-inch J-hooks are used to secure the tool box to the truck bed rails. Each J-hook is placed under the lip of a bed rail with the threaded end inserted up through a slot, then secured with a washer and nut on each side of the vehicle.
The two rail pads have an adhesive side that attaches to the underside of the tool box ends. They are placed on top of the truck bed rails to provide a cushioned, non-slip base for the tool box and help protect the truck bed finish.
Place the tool box in the truck bed with the adhesive rail pads already attached to its underside. Use a tape measure to ensure the tool box is centered in the truck bed. Open the lid and verify there is clearance between the open lid and the top and back of the cab before proceeding with fastening.
Use only one J-hook assembly on each side of the vehicle, for a total of two J-hooks. Each J-hook is placed under the lip of a bed rail and secured with a washer and nut.
No. After placing the J-hooks and attaching the washers and nuts, snug the hardware but do not fully tighten. First, re-measure to ensure the tool box is centered and allows lid clearance when open. Only after confirming proper positioning should you fully tighten all hardware.
The torque specification for 1/4" bolts is 3 ft-lbs. This is a general guideline; if you purchase replacement hardware, use the torque specifications provided with that hardware instead.
Do not use this product for storing or transporting flammables, explosives, hazardous materials or hazardous waste, such as containers of gasoline, solvents, gun powder, dynamite, propane tanks, acetylene tanks and cutting torches. Doing so creates a danger of explosion.
Yes. Never exceed the vehicle manufacturer's recommended capacity. Consult your vehicle's documentation to determine the maximum load your truck bed can safely carry.
Before drilling into your truck bed, check under your vehicle to ensure the drill location does not puncture, cut or obstruct any brake or fuel fluid lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks, etc. Additionally, ensure all fasteners near the fuel tank do not create the possibility of fuel tank puncture or other damage during a collision.
Treat or seal all fasteners and exposed metal in any holes drilled in the vehicle to prevent corrosion. This protects both the truck bed and the fasteners from rust and deterioration.
Ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured. Open the lid and verify there is adequate clearance between the open lid and the top and back of the cab. Confirm the tool box is centered in the truck bed.
For polished, gloss and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs. Clean the product with mild automotive detergent. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or other similar products that may damage the finish. Periodically lubricate the strikers and locks to ensure optimum performance.
Periodically re-tighten and inspect all components for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue. With the crossover tool box installed, periodic inspections should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight. Ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured before every trip.
If the strikers are ever out of alignment, simply loosen, adjust and re-tighten them. Periodically lubricate the strikers and locks to ensure optimum performance.
The tool box is designed for truck beds with accessible rails in a crossover configuration. Check clearance with the lid open before installation to ensure it fits your specific truck.
You need a ratchet, socket set, and tape measure. No power tools or drilling equipment is required for the basic installation.
The standard installation uses adhesive rail pads and J-hooks secured with fasteners; no drilling is shown as a required step. However, the manual warns about checking under the truck before drilling, suggesting drilling may be necessary in some installations. Consult the manufacturer if your truck bed configuration requires drilling.
The torque specification for 1/4" bolts is 3 ft-lbs. Use the torque specifications provided with replacement hardware if you purchase additional fasteners.
No. Do not store or transport flammables, explosives, hazardous materials or hazardous waste such as gasoline, solvents, propane tanks or acetylene tanks. This creates a danger of explosion.
Use mild automotive detergent and a soft cloth. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads or wire brushes. For polished or gloss finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches.
Ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured. Verify the tool box is centered in the truck bed and that the lid has clearance when open. Check that the tool box does not interfere with factory safety equipment.
