UWS crossover truck tool boxes are the tried-and-true way of keeping your tools organized, on-hand and fully secure no matter where you and your truck roam. Each UWS tool box is built from extra-thick aluminum welded into a single-piece tub. This provides the tool box with reliable strength and helps keep the interior sealed off from the elements. Aluminum construction also makes the box highly resistant to corrosion for long-lasting use. This particular box features a slim-line design, providing adequate clearance for truck beds that have extremely limited space between the wheel wells and truck cab. To add even more strength to the crossover truck tool box, the lid features our patented RigidCore foam-filled design. Layered between two sheets of aluminum, this core greatly increases the structural integrity of the lid to prevent bending and warping and to ensure smooth opening and closing. The lid is able to open to a full 90 degrees, providing better access to tools, equipment and other stored items. It also features self-opening struts to make it easy to open the box when your hands are full. To keep out moisture, dirt and even insects, the lid is also fitted with a MicroSeal gasket that seals off the inside of the tool box from the outside elements. UWS crossover truck tool boxes make it easy to keep your tools and other items organized, featuring built-in screwdriver holders and a three-compartment sliding tool tray. The tool box itself is easy to install and is available in multiple sizes to provide the perfect for your truck and lifestyle. Like all UWS products, each crossover truck tool box is proudly assembled right here in the USA for style and long-lasting dependability (NOTE: This product is heavily packaged for parcel shipping).

UWS designs and builds heavy-duty truck tool boxes and storage for tradespeople and truck owners. The line covers crossover and side-mount boxes, chest boxes, underbody boxes, transfer tanks and dog boxes. Every aluminum box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, with construction aimed at job-site abuse, road vibration and daily use.
UWS is a leading manufacturer and designer of truck tool boxes and truck accessories, and a Lippert brand. The company's focus is narrow and deliberate: storage that stands up to being opened and slammed shut dozens of times a day, loaded past what looks reasonable, and left outdoors in whatever weather the job brings. Its customers are electricians, plumbers, contractors, farmers, outdoorsmen and truck owners who treat a pickup as a working tool rather than transport.
The catalog covers the full range of bed storage. Crossover boxes sit across the bed behind the cab in single-lid, gull-wing, secure-lock and low-profile styles, so there is a fit whether the priority is capacity, rear visibility or working under a tonneau. Side-mount boxes mount along the bed rails and keep the bed floor free for cargo, while underbody boxes tuck beneath the frame rails of service bodies and flatbeds.
Beyond the bed, UWS makes portable chest boxes that move between vehicles and the shop, transfer tanks and combination tank-and-toolbox units for crews working away from fuel supply, and insulated, ventilated dog boxes for hunters and handlers.
Manufacturing sits at the centre of the brand's identity. Every UWS aluminum tool box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, by tradespeople with decades of experience, and the company's Rooted in Trades initiative is built around that connection to skilled manual work. Boxes use heavy-gauge aluminum, continuous welds at the seams, weather stripping to seal against rain and dust, and locking systems intended to resist tampering. The practical result is storage that keeps tools dry, organized and where they were left.

Yes, the UWS Gloss Black Aluminum 63" Slim-Line Crossover Truck Tool Box (Heavy Packaging) EC10362 (Part #BHSGEC10362) is designed to fit the 2015-2022 Chevrolet Colorado.
The UWS Gloss Black Aluminum 63" Slim-Line Crossover Truck Tool Box (Heavy Packaging) EC10362 (Part #BHSGEC10362) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
The kit includes one crossover truck tool box, one divider tray (not included with all models), two rail pads, two 3-inch J-hooks, two 1/4" washers, and two 1/4" nuts. A key is also provided. Note that the divider tray may not be included depending on your specific model.
You will need a ratchet, socket set, and tape measure. The installation is rated as Easy difficulty.
The tool box is designed to fit across truck bed rails in a crossover configuration. Before purchasing, verify that your truck has accessible bed rails and sufficient clearance between the open lid and the top and back of the cab. The manual does not specify compatibility by truck model, bed length, or cab style, so contact the manufacturer or your dealer for fitment confirmation.
Place the tool box in the truck bed and check clearance with the lid open. Ensure there is clearance between the open lid, top and back of the cab. Use a tape measure to verify the tool box is centered in the truck bed. If there is any interference, the tool box may not be suitable for your vehicle.
1. Attach the adhesive side of the rail pads to the underside of the tool box ends. 2. Place the tool box with rail pads on top of the truck bed rails. 3. Center the tool box using a tape measure and verify lid clearance with the cab. 4. Place a J-hook under the lip of each bed rail, inserting the threaded end up through the slot (one hole and J-hook assembly per side). 5. Attach each J-hook with a washer and nut, snugging but not fully tightening. 6. Re-measure to ensure centering and lid clearance. 7. Fully tighten all hardware. 8. Adjust strikers if needed and lubricate them and locks periodically.
The rail pads have an adhesive side. Attach them to the underside of the tool box ends. Once adhered, place the tool box with the rail pads on top of the truck bed rails.
Place a J-hook under the lip of the bed rail and insert the threaded end up through the slot. Use only one hole and J-hook assembly on each side of the vehicle. Attach with a washer and nut, snugging the hardware but not fully tightening initially. After re-measuring to ensure the tool box is centered and lid clearance is correct, fully tighten all hardware.
No. Initially, snug the washer and nut on each J-hook but do not fully tighten. After re-measuring to ensure the tool box is centered and the lid has proper clearance with the cab, then fully tighten all hardware.
Use a tape measure to measure the distance from the tool box to the edges of the truck bed on both sides. Adjust the tool box position until it is centered. Perform this measurement after attaching the rail pads and again after loosely installing the J-hooks, before final tightening.
The manual does not explicitly state whether drilling is required. The J-hooks are inserted through existing slots in the bed rails. However, the manual warns that before drilling into your truck bed, you must check underneath to ensure the drill location does not puncture brake lines, fuel lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks or other components. If drilling is needed for your specific truck, take this precaution.
The J-hooks are secured with 1/4" washers and nuts. According to the manual's general torque specifications, a 1/4" bolt should be torqued to 3 ft-lbs. However, the manual notes that if purchasing hardware separately, use the torque specifications provided with that hardware. For the fasteners included in this kit, 3 ft-lbs is the guideline.
Do not use this product for storing or transporting flammables, explosives, hazardous materials or hazardous waste, such as containers of gasoline, solvents, gun powder, dynamite, propane tanks, acetylene tanks and cutting torches. Danger of explosion exists if these items are stored.
Yes. The product can reduce the driver's ability to clearly see roadways, vehicular or pedestrian traffic and other objects through the rear and side windows of the vehicle, which may cause an accident. Extra precaution should be taken when driving a vehicle with this product installed.
No. The manual explicitly states: do not interfere with factory-installed safety equipment. Before installation, verify that the tool box placement does not obstruct airbags, sensors, or other safety systems. If there is any interference, the tool box is not suitable for your vehicle.
Verify that the tool box is centered in the truck bed and that the lid has clearance when open. Ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured. Check that the strikers are properly aligned; if not, loosen, adjust and re-tighten them.
Periodically inspect all components for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue. Ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured before every trip. Periodically re-tighten all components. With the crossover tool box installed, periodic inspections should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight.
For polished, gloss and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs. Mild automotive detergent may be used to clean the product. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or other similar products that may damage the finish.
Periodically lubricate the strikers and locks to ensure optimum performance. If the strikers are ever out of alignment, simply loosen, adjust and re-tighten them.
Treat or seal all fasteners and exposed metal in any holes drilled in the vehicle to prevent corrosion. This protects your truck bed from rust and extends the life of the installation.
The tool box fits across truck bed rails in a crossover configuration. Verify your truck has accessible bed rails and clearance between the open lid and cab. Contact the manufacturer for fitment confirmation by truck model.
You need a ratchet, socket set, and tape measure. Installation is rated Easy.
The manual does not explicitly require drilling. J-hooks insert through existing bed rail slots. If drilling is needed for your truck, check underneath first to avoid puncturing brake lines, fuel lines, wires or fuel tanks.
Use 3 ft-lbs for the 1/4" bolts, per the manual's general torque specifications. If you purchase replacement hardware, use the torque specs provided with that hardware.
Do not store flammables, explosives, hazardous materials or hazardous waste—including gasoline, solvents, propane tanks, acetylene tanks and cutting torches. Danger of explosion.
Ensure all fasteners are firmly secured before every trip. Periodically re-tighten and inspect all components for wear, corrosion and fatigue.
