UWS crossover truck tool boxes are the tried-and-true way of keeping your tools organized, on-hand and fully secure no matter where you and your truck roam. Each UWS tool box is built from extra-thick aluminum welded into a single-piece tub. This provides the tool box with reliable strength and helps keep the interior sealed off from the elements. Aluminum construction also makes the box highly resistant to corrosion for long-lasting use. This particular box features a slim-line design, providing adequate clearance for truck beds that have extremely limited space between the wheel wells and truck cab. To add even more strength to the crossover truck tool box, the lid features our patented RigidCore foam-filled design. Layered between two sheets of aluminum, this core greatly increases the structural integrity of the lid to prevent bending and warping and to ensure smooth opening and closing. The lid is able to open to a full 90 degrees, providing better access to tools, equipment and other stored items. It also features self-opening struts to make it easy to open the box when your hands are full. To keep out moisture, dirt and even insects, the lid is also fitted with a MicroSeal gasket that seals off the inside of the tool box from the outside elements. UWS crossover truck tool boxes make it easy to keep your tools and other items organized, featuring built-in screwdriver holders and a three-compartment sliding tool tray. The tool box itself is easy to install and is available in multiple sizes to provide the perfect for your truck and lifestyle. Like all UWS products, each crossover truck tool box is proudly assembled right here in the USA for style and long-lasting dependability (NOTE: This product is heavily packaged for parcel shipping).

UWS designs and builds heavy-duty truck tool boxes and storage for tradespeople and truck owners. The line covers crossover and side-mount boxes, chest boxes, underbody boxes, transfer tanks and dog boxes. Every aluminum box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, with construction aimed at job-site abuse, road vibration and daily use.
UWS is a leading manufacturer and designer of truck tool boxes and truck accessories, and a Lippert brand. The company's focus is narrow and deliberate: storage that stands up to being opened and slammed shut dozens of times a day, loaded past what looks reasonable, and left outdoors in whatever weather the job brings. Its customers are electricians, plumbers, contractors, farmers, outdoorsmen and truck owners who treat a pickup as a working tool rather than transport.
The catalog covers the full range of bed storage. Crossover boxes sit across the bed behind the cab in single-lid, gull-wing, secure-lock and low-profile styles, so there is a fit whether the priority is capacity, rear visibility or working under a tonneau. Side-mount boxes mount along the bed rails and keep the bed floor free for cargo, while underbody boxes tuck beneath the frame rails of service bodies and flatbeds.
Beyond the bed, UWS makes portable chest boxes that move between vehicles and the shop, transfer tanks and combination tank-and-toolbox units for crews working away from fuel supply, and insulated, ventilated dog boxes for hunters and handlers.
Manufacturing sits at the centre of the brand's identity. Every UWS aluminum tool box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, by tradespeople with decades of experience, and the company's Rooted in Trades initiative is built around that connection to skilled manual work. Boxes use heavy-gauge aluminum, continuous welds at the seams, weather stripping to seal against rain and dust, and locking systems intended to resist tampering. The practical result is storage that keeps tools dry, organized and where they were left.

The UWS Gloss Black Aluminum 72" Slim-Line Crossover Truck Tool Box (Heavy Packaging) EC10662 (Part #BHSGEC10662) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
The kit includes one crossover truck tool box, one key, two rail pads, two 3-inch J-hooks, two 1/4" washers, and two 1/4" nuts. Note: the divider tray is not included with all models.
No. The manual explicitly states: do not use this product for storing or transporting flammables, explosives, hazardous materials or hazardous waste, including gasoline, solvents, gun powder, dynamite, propane tanks, acetylene tanks and cutting torches.
The tool box is designed for truck beds with rails. The manual does not specify which truck models or bed lengths are compatible. Before purchasing, verify that your truck has accessible bed rails and measure your truck bed to ensure adequate space. Consult your dealer or the manufacturer if you have questions about fitment for your specific vehicle.
You must verify clearance during installation. In Step 1, open the tool box lid and ensure there is clearance between the open lid, the top and back of the cab. If clearance is insufficient, the tool box may not be suitable for your truck configuration.
You will need a ratchet, socket set, and tape measure. The installation is rated as Easy difficulty.
The manual does not explicitly state whether drilling is required for all installations. The tool box uses adhesive rail pads and J-hook fasteners that attach under the bed rail lip. However, a warning states: before drilling into your truck bed, check under your vehicle to ensure the drill location does not puncture brake or fuel lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks, etc. If drilling is needed for your installation, follow this precaution.
Before drilling into your truck bed, check under your vehicle to ensure the drill location does not puncture, cut or obstruct any brake or fuel fluid lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks, etc. Precaution must also be taken that all fasteners near the fuel tank do not create the possibility of fuel tank puncture or other damage during a collision.
In Step 1, place the tool box in the truck bed and use a tape measure to ensure it is centered. Attach the adhesive side of the rail pads to the underside of the tool box ends, then place the tool box with the rail pads adhered on top of the truck bed rails. Open the lid and verify clearance between the open lid, top and back of the cab.
In Step 2, place a J-hook under the lip of the bed rail and insert the threaded end up through the slot. Use only one hole and J-hook assembly on each side. Attach with a washer and nut. Snug the hardware but do not fully tighten at first. Repeat on the other side. After re-measuring to ensure the tool box is centered and lid clearance is correct, fully tighten all hardware.
Do not fully tighten the hardware immediately. In Step 2, snug the hardware but leave it loose. After re-measuring to ensure the tool box is centered and the lid has proper clearance, then fully tighten all hardware.
Tool boxes come with adjustable strikers. If the strikers are ever out of alignment, simply loosen, adjust and re-tighten them.
The torque specification for a 1/4" bolt is 3 ft-lbs. Note: the manual states these are general guidelines. If you purchase replacement hardware, use the torque specifications provided with that hardware.
Yes. The manual warns: this product can reduce the driver's ability to clearly see roadways, vehicular or pedestrian traffic and other objects through the rear and side windows of the vehicle, which may cause an accident. Extra precaution should be taken when driving a vehicle with this product.
No. The manual states: do not interfere with factory-installed safety equipment. Ensure your installation does not obstruct or damage any factory safety systems.
The manual does not specify a weight capacity. It states: never exceed the vehicle manufacturer's recommended capacity. Consult your vehicle's owner manual or your dealer for the maximum load capacity of your truck bed.
After installation, ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured. Open the lid and verify clearance with the cab. The manual recommends periodic inspections to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight and to check for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue.
For polished, gloss and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs. Mild automotive detergent may be used to clean the product. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or other similar products that may damage the finish.
Periodically lubricate the strikers and locks to ensure optimum performance.
