UWS crossover truck tool boxes are the tried-and-true way of keeping your tools organized, on-hand and fully secure no matter where you and your truck roam. Each UWS tool box is built from extra-thick aluminum welded into a single-piece tub. This provides the tool box with reliable strength and helps keep the interior sealed off from the elements. Aluminum construction also makes the box highly resistant to corrosion for long-lasting use. To add even more strength to the crossover truck tool box, the lid features our patented RigidCore foam-filled design. Layered between two sheets of aluminum, this core greatly increases the structural integrity of the lid to prevent bending and warping and to ensure smooth opening and closing. The lid is able to open to a full 90 degrees, providing better access to tools, equipment and other stored items. It also features self-opening struts to make it easy to open the box when your hands are full. To keep out moisture, dirt and even insects, the lid is also fitted with a MicroSeal gasket that seals off the inside of the tool box from the outside elements. UWS crossover truck tool boxes make it easy to keep your tools and other items organized, featuring built-in screwdriver holders and a three-compartment sliding tool tray. The tool box itself is easy to install and is available in multiple sizes to provide the perfect for your truck and lifestyle. Like all UWS products, each crossover truck tool box is proudly assembled right here in the USA for style and long-lasting dependability (NOTE: This product is heavily packaged for parcel shipping).

UWS designs and builds heavy-duty truck tool boxes and storage for tradespeople and truck owners. The line covers crossover and side-mount boxes, chest boxes, underbody boxes, transfer tanks and dog boxes. Every aluminum box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, with construction aimed at job-site abuse, road vibration and daily use.
UWS is a leading manufacturer and designer of truck tool boxes and truck accessories, and a Lippert brand. The company's focus is narrow and deliberate: storage that stands up to being opened and slammed shut dozens of times a day, loaded past what looks reasonable, and left outdoors in whatever weather the job brings. Its customers are electricians, plumbers, contractors, farmers, outdoorsmen and truck owners who treat a pickup as a working tool rather than transport.
The catalog covers the full range of bed storage. Crossover boxes sit across the bed behind the cab in single-lid, gull-wing, secure-lock and low-profile styles, so there is a fit whether the priority is capacity, rear visibility or working under a tonneau. Side-mount boxes mount along the bed rails and keep the bed floor free for cargo, while underbody boxes tuck beneath the frame rails of service bodies and flatbeds.
Beyond the bed, UWS makes portable chest boxes that move between vehicles and the shop, transfer tanks and combination tank-and-toolbox units for crews working away from fuel supply, and insulated, ventilated dog boxes for hunters and handlers.
Manufacturing sits at the centre of the brand's identity. Every UWS aluminum tool box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, by tradespeople with decades of experience, and the company's Rooted in Trades initiative is built around that connection to skilled manual work. Boxes use heavy-gauge aluminum, continuous welds at the seams, weather stripping to seal against rain and dust, and locking systems intended to resist tampering. The practical result is storage that keeps tools dry, organized and where they were left.

The kit includes one crossover truck tool box, one key, two rail pads, two 3-inch J-hooks, two 1/4" washers, and two 1/4" nuts. A divider tray is not included with all models. Check your specific box contents against the parts list.
The tool box is designed for truck beds with rails. The manual does not specify which truck models, bed lengths, cab styles or frame types are compatible. Contact the manufacturer or your dealer with your truck's year, make, model and bed length to confirm fitment before purchasing.
No. The manual explicitly states 'Do not interfere with factory-installed safety equipment.' During installation, you must ensure the tool box does not obstruct or damage any factory equipment. If you are unsure, consult your dealer.
You will need a ratchet, socket set, and tape measure. These are listed as the required tools for installation.
The manual rates the installation difficulty as 'Easy' and does not require professional installation. However, you should read all instructions thoroughly before beginning and consult your dealer if you have questions about installation, operation or use.
The manual does not mention battery disconnection. No electrical work is involved in the installation process.
No. The tool box is placed directly into the truck bed and secured to the bed rails using J-hooks and fasteners. The bed does not need to be removed.
Place the tool box in the truck bed and use a tape measure to ensure it is centered. Open the lid and check that there is clearance between the open lid and the top and back of the cab. The rail pads (adhesive side down) should be attached to the underside of the tool box ends and placed on top of the truck bed rails.
Place a J-hook under the lip of the bed rail and insert the threaded end up through the slot. Use only one hole and J-hook assembly on each side. Attach with a 1/4" washer and 1/4" nut. Snug the hardware but do not fully tighten until you have re-measured to ensure the tool box is centered and the lid has clearance when open. Then fully tighten all hardware.

The manual does not explicitly state whether drilling is required. However, it includes a warning to check under the truck bed before drilling to ensure you do not puncture brake lines, fuel lines, electrical wires or fuel tanks. If drilling is necessary for your installation, take this precaution and treat or seal all drilled holes to prevent corrosion.
The torque specification for 1/4" bolts is 3 ft-lbs. This is a general guideline. If you purchase replacement hardware, use the torque specifications provided with that hardware.
Do not use the tool box for storing or transporting flammables, explosives, hazardous materials or hazardous waste, including gasoline, solvents, gun powder, dynamite, propane tanks, acetylene tanks and cutting torches. Doing so creates a danger of explosion.
