The UWS 72" Deep Angled Push Button Crossover Truck Tool Box is engineered for professionals who expect their storage to work as hard as they do. Its angled design is purpose-built to contour around wheel wells and irregular bed shapes, delivering a custom fit that optimizes space without compromise. With an extra-deep tub, this box offers generous room for oversized tools and bulkier gear—all protected by a heavy-duty, one-piece aluminum build that’s 0.058" thick and ready to take on the demands of tough jobs and long hauls. Opening and securing the box is effortless, thanks to the oversized, weather-resistant QuickStrike™ push button. Designed for quick access from either side of the truck and easy use with gloved hands, it makes retrieving your gear simple in any condition. The keyed-alike locking system adds confidence, locking down your tools with reliable, tamper-resistant security. The lid opens a full 90 degrees and is reinforced with our patented RigidCore™ foam-filled structure, which prevents flexing and binding to ensure smooth, consistent operation for the life of the box. Inside, smart features help you stay organized and efficient. A removable BedRug™ liner cushions your tools, reduces rattling, and is easy to clean when the job gets messy. A sliding tool tray and built-in screwdriver holders keep everyday essentials where you need them. The enclosed interior locking rod resists bending and jamming, while the MicroSeal™ gasket defends against water, dust, and grime — protecting your gear from the elements, wherever the road takes you. Reinforced front tie-downs with strong backer plates give you dependable anchor points for securing extra cargo on top. And with pre-drilled mounting slots and heavy-duty hardware included, installation is straightforward and secure.

UWS designs and builds heavy-duty truck tool boxes and storage for tradespeople and truck owners. The line covers crossover and side-mount boxes, chest boxes, underbody boxes, transfer tanks and dog boxes. Every aluminum box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, with construction aimed at job-site abuse, road vibration and daily use.
UWS is a leading manufacturer and designer of truck tool boxes and truck accessories, and a Lippert brand. The company's focus is narrow and deliberate: storage that stands up to being opened and slammed shut dozens of times a day, loaded past what looks reasonable, and left outdoors in whatever weather the job brings. Its customers are electricians, plumbers, contractors, farmers, outdoorsmen and truck owners who treat a pickup as a working tool rather than transport.
The catalog covers the full range of bed storage. Crossover boxes sit across the bed behind the cab in single-lid, gull-wing, secure-lock and low-profile styles, so there is a fit whether the priority is capacity, rear visibility or working under a tonneau. Side-mount boxes mount along the bed rails and keep the bed floor free for cargo, while underbody boxes tuck beneath the frame rails of service bodies and flatbeds.
Beyond the bed, UWS makes portable chest boxes that move between vehicles and the shop, transfer tanks and combination tank-and-toolbox units for crews working away from fuel supply, and insulated, ventilated dog boxes for hunters and handlers.
Manufacturing sits at the centre of the brand's identity. Every UWS aluminum tool box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, by tradespeople with decades of experience, and the company's Rooted in Trades initiative is built around that connection to skilled manual work. Boxes use heavy-gauge aluminum, continuous welds at the seams, weather stripping to seal against rain and dust, and locking systems intended to resist tampering. The practical result is storage that keeps tools dry, organized and where they were left.

The package includes one crossover truck tool box, one divider tray, two rail pads, two tool box clamps, two 1/4" washers, two 1/4" nuts, and two keys. All fasteners and mounting hardware needed for installation are included.
The tool box is designed as a crossover unit for standard truck beds with accessible rails. Before purchasing, verify your truck has standard bed rails and measure your bed width to ensure the crossover design fits. The manual does not specify exact bed dimensions or cab styles, so contact UWS at 877-287-8634 or consult your dealer for specific vehicle compatibility.
Yes, but clearance must be verified during installation. In Step 1, open the tool box lid and ensure there is clearance between the open lid, top and back of the cab. If clearance is insufficient, the tool box position may need adjustment. This check must be completed before final tightening of hardware.
You will need a ratchet, socket set, and tape measure. These are the only tools listed as required in the manual. Proper tools will improve installation quality and reduce installation time.
Before drilling into your truck bed, check under your vehicle to ensure the drill location does not puncture, cut or obstruct any brake or fuel fluid lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks, or other components. Take precaution that all fasteners near the fuel tank do not create the possibility of fuel tank puncture or other damage during a collision. Read all instructions thoroughly before beginning installation.
In Step 1, place the tool box in the truck bed and check clearance with the lid open. Attach the adhesive side of the rail pads to the underside of the tool box ends. Place the tool box with the rail pads adhered on top of the truck bed rails. Using a tape measure, ensure the tool box is centered in the truck bed. Open the lid and verify clearance between the open lid and the top and back of the cab.
In Step 2, place a tool box clamp under the lip of the bed rail and insert the threaded end up through the slot. Use only one hole and tool box clamp assembly on each side. Attach with a washer and nut. Snug the hardware but do not fully tighten at this stage. Repeat on the other side. After re-measuring to ensure the tool box is centered and lid clearance is correct, fully tighten all hardware.
In Step 2, you snug the hardware but do not fully tighten initially. This allows you to re-measure the tool box position to ensure it is centered and that the lid has proper clearance when open. Only after confirming correct positioning should you fully tighten all hardware.
The torque specification for 1/4" bolts is 3 ft-lbs. This is a general guideline. If you purchase additional hardware separately, use the torque specifications provided with that hardware instead.
In Step 3, if the strikers are ever out of alignment, simply loosen, adjust and re-tighten them. Periodically lubricate the strikers and locks to ensure optimum performance.
After installation, ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured before every trip. Periodically re-tighten and inspect all components for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue. With the crossover tool box installed, periodic inspections should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight.
For polished, gloss and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs. Mild automotive detergent may be used to clean the product. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or other similar products that may damage the finish.
Do not use this product for storing or transporting flammables, explosives, hazardous materials or hazardous waste, such as containers of gasoline, solvents, gun powder, dynamite, propane tanks, acetylene tanks and cutting torches. Danger of explosion.
Never exceed the vehicle manufacturer's recommended capacity. Never exceed the tie-down rated capacity of 150 pounds. The manual does not specify a separate tool box weight capacity; refer to your vehicle manufacturer's guidelines and the 150 lb tie-down limit.
Yes. This product can reduce the driver's ability to clearly see roadways, vehicular or pedestrian traffic and other objects through the rear and side windows of the vehicle, which may cause an accident. Extra precaution should be taken when driving a vehicle with this product.
No. Do not interfere with factory-installed safety equipment. Ensure during installation that the tool box does not obstruct or damage any factory safety systems.
Periodically re-tighten and inspect all components for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue. The manual does not specify an exact re-tightening interval. Ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured before every trip, and perform periodic inspections to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight.
Yes. Treat or seal all fasteners and exposed metal in any holes drilled in the vehicle to prevent corrosion. This protects your investment and extends the life of the installation.
