UWS crossover truck tool boxes are the tried-and-true way of keeping your tools organized, on-hand and fully secure no matter where you and your truck roam. Each UWS tool box is built from extra-thick aluminum welded into a single-piece tub. This provides the tool box with reliable strength and helps keep the interior sealed off from the elements. Aluminum construction also makes the box highly resistant to corrosion for long-lasting use. To add even more strength to the crossover truck tool box, the lid features our patented RigidCore foam-filled design. Layered between two sheets of aluminum, this core greatly increases the structural integrity of the lid to prevent bending and warping and to ensure smooth opening and closing. The lid is able to open to a full 90 degrees, providing better access to tools, equipment and other stored items. It also features self-opening struts to make it easy to open the box when your hands are full. To keep out moisture, dirt and even insects, the lid is also fitted with a MicroSeal gasket that seals off the inside of the tool box from the outside elements. UWS crossover truck tool boxes make it easy to keep your tools and other items organized, featuring built-in screwdriver holders and a three-compartment sliding tool tray. The tool box itself is easy to install and is available in multiple sizes to provide the perfect for your truck and lifestyle. Like all UWS products, each crossover truck tool box is proudly assembled right here in the USA for style and long-lasting dependability.

UWS designs and builds heavy-duty truck tool boxes and storage for tradespeople and truck owners. The line covers crossover and side-mount boxes, chest boxes, underbody boxes, transfer tanks and dog boxes. Every aluminum box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, with construction aimed at job-site abuse, road vibration and daily use.
UWS is a leading manufacturer and designer of truck tool boxes and truck accessories, and a Lippert brand. The company's focus is narrow and deliberate: storage that stands up to being opened and slammed shut dozens of times a day, loaded past what looks reasonable, and left outdoors in whatever weather the job brings. Its customers are electricians, plumbers, contractors, farmers, outdoorsmen and truck owners who treat a pickup as a working tool rather than transport.
The catalog covers the full range of bed storage. Crossover boxes sit across the bed behind the cab in single-lid, gull-wing, secure-lock and low-profile styles, so there is a fit whether the priority is capacity, rear visibility or working under a tonneau. Side-mount boxes mount along the bed rails and keep the bed floor free for cargo, while underbody boxes tuck beneath the frame rails of service bodies and flatbeds.
Beyond the bed, UWS makes portable chest boxes that move between vehicles and the shop, transfer tanks and combination tank-and-toolbox units for crews working away from fuel supply, and insulated, ventilated dog boxes for hunters and handlers.
Manufacturing sits at the centre of the brand's identity. Every UWS aluminum tool box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, by tradespeople with decades of experience, and the company's Rooted in Trades initiative is built around that connection to skilled manual work. Boxes use heavy-gauge aluminum, continuous welds at the seams, weather stripping to seal against rain and dust, and locking systems intended to resist tampering. The practical result is storage that keeps tools dry, organized and where they were left.

The UWS Bright Aluminum 72" Deep Angled Crossover Truck Tool Box TBSD-72-A (Part #BHSGTBSD-72-A) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
The package includes one crossover truck tool box, one key, two rail pads, two 3" J-hooks, two 1/4" washers, and two 1/4" nuts. A divider tray is not included with all models. Refer to your specific product documentation to confirm whether a divider tray is included with your purchase.
You will need a ratchet, socket set, and tape measure. These are the only tools listed as required for installation.
The manual does not specify which vehicle models, years, bed styles or cab configurations are compatible. Contact CURT Group at 877-287-8634 or consult your dealer to confirm fitment for your specific truck.
The tool box is designed to mount on truck bed rails using J-hook assemblies. Before purchase, verify that your truck has accessible bed rails and that the tool box dimensions suit your bed length and width. The manual does not provide specific fitment details, so contact CURT Group at 877-287-8634 or your dealer to confirm compatibility with your truck.
The manual does not explicitly state whether drilling is required or optional. The installation uses J-hooks that insert through existing bed rail slots and are secured with washers and nuts. If your truck bed rails do not have suitable slots, drilling may be necessary. Before drilling, you must check under your vehicle to ensure the drill location does not puncture brake lines, fuel lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks or other components. Contact your dealer or CURT Group if you are unsure whether drilling is needed for your truck.
Before drilling into your truck bed, you must check under your vehicle to ensure the drill location does not puncture, cut or obstruct any brake fluid lines, fuel lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks or other components. Additionally, all fasteners near the fuel tank must not create the possibility of fuel tank puncture or other damage during a collision. If you are unsure about what lies beneath your truck bed, consult your vehicle's service manual or a qualified technician.
Place the tool box in the truck bed and check clearance with the lid open. Attach the adhesive side of the rail pads to the underside of the tool box ends. Place the tool box with the rail pads on top of the truck bed rails. Using a tape measure, ensure the tool box is centered in the truck bed. Open the tool box lid and verify there is clearance between the open lid and the top and back of the cab before securing.
Place a J-hook under the lip of the bed rail and insert the threaded end up through the slot. Use only one hole and J-hook assembly on each side of the vehicle. Attach with a 1/4" washer and 1/4" nut. Snug the hardware but do not fully tighten at this stage. Repeat on the other side. After re-measuring to ensure the tool box is centered and allows lid clearance when open, fully tighten all hardware.
Snug the washer and nut on each J-hook assembly but do not fully tighten them initially. After re-measuring the tool box to ensure it is centered and the lid has proper clearance when open, fully tighten all hardware. This two-stage approach allows you to adjust the tool box position before final tightening.
The torque specification for 1/4" bolts is 3 ft-lbs. This is a general guideline. If you purchase replacement hardware, use the torque specifications provided with that hardware instead.
If the strikers are out of alignment, loosen them, adjust to the correct position, and re-tighten. Periodically lubricate the strikers and locks to ensure optimum performance.
Do not use this product for storing or transporting flammables, explosives, hazardous materials or hazardous waste, including containers of gasoline, solvents, gun powder, dynamite, propane tanks, acetylene tanks and cutting torches. Doing so creates a danger of explosion.
Never exceed the vehicle manufacturer's recommended capacity. The manual does not specify the tool box weight capacity. Contact CURT Group at 877-287-8634 or your dealer to determine the maximum load for your specific tool box model and truck.
Yes. This product can reduce the driver's ability to clearly see roadways, vehicular or pedestrian traffic and other objects through the rear and side windows of the vehicle, which may cause an accident. Extra precaution should be taken when driving a vehicle with this product installed.
No. Do not interfere with factory-installed safety equipment. Ensure your installation does not obstruct or damage any original equipment on your vehicle.
Ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured. Verify the tool box is centered in the truck bed and that the lid has proper clearance when open. Check that the tool box does not interfere with factory safety equipment or visibility through rear and side windows.
Periodic inspections should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight. Before every trip, ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured. Periodically re-tighten and inspect all components for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue.
For polished, gloss and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs. Mild automotive detergent may be used to clean the product. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or other similar products that may damage the finish.
