Yes, Curt part number 13339 is designed for 1999-present Chevrolet and GMC 1500 and 2500 light duty trucks equipped with a 10" step bumper. It is compatible with Tommygate. Verify your truck has the 10" step bumper and existing M14 bolts and weldnuts on both frame rails before purchasing.
The Curt 13339 is designed for 1999-present Chevrolet and GMC 1500 and 2500 light duty trucks only. It is not compatible with heavy duty models. Verify your truck is light duty and has a 10" step bumper before installation.
Yes, the Curt 13339 is compatible with Tommygate. This is noted in the product specifications for 1999-present Chevrolet and GMC 1500 and 2500 light duty trucks with 10" step bumpers.
The manual specifies that you must not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. The Curt 13339 has separate gross load capacities for weight carrying and weight distribution modes, but the specific values are not printed in this manual. Contact Curt Manufacturing technical support at 1-877-287-8634 for the exact capacity ratings.
You will need: a socket wrench, a 3/4" wrench, a 22mm socket, and a torque wrench. These are required to install the hitch and torque the fasteners to specification.
Yes. Step 1 of the installation requires you to lower the spare tire for ease of installation. You will reinstall it in Step 8 after the hitch is secured.
No. The Curt 13339 requires no drilling. It uses existing M14 bolts and weldnuts on the vehicle frame rails. If these do not exist on your vehicle, the supplied 1/2-13 hex bolts and CM-SP22 spacers can be used in the rear hole instead.
The hitch includes: 6 hex nuts (1/2-13 UNC, Grade 8, part 20-00171), 6 hex cap screws (1/2-13 UNC, 1-3/4", Grade 8, part 10-10370), 6 lock washers (1/2", part 30-00153), 6 round hole spacers (0.250 x 1.00 x 1.50", part CM-SP50), 2 round hole spacers (0.188 x 1.50 x 3.00", part CM-SP34), and 4 round hole spacers (0.250 x 1.50 x 1.50", part CM-SP22).
Yes. Step 2 requires you to remove the M14 bolts from the bumper bracket, and Step 3 requires you to reinstall one of these M14 bolts through the hitch. The existing M14 bolts and weldnuts on both frame rails are reused as part of the installation.
1. Lower the spare tire. 2. Remove M14 bolts from the bumper bracket. 3. Raise the hitch into position and reinstall the M14 bolt. 4. Install 1/2-13 hex bolts and CM-SP22 spacers through the middle holes (or rear holes if M14 bolt and weldnut do not exist). 5. Install 1/2-13 hex bolts and CM-SP34 spacers through the forward holes. 6. Secure the hitch with CM-SP50 spacers, lock washers, and hex nuts. 7. Torque all 1/2" hardware to 110 lb-ft. 8. Reinstall the spare tire.
All 1/2" hardware (hex bolts, lock washers, and hex nuts) must be torqued to 110 lb-ft. Use a torque wrench to ensure proper tightness.
CM-SP22 spacers (0.250 x 1.50 x 1.50") go through the middle holes with 1/2-13 hex bolts. CM-SP34 spacers (0.188 x 1.50 x 3.00") go through the forward holes with 1/2-13 hex bolts. CM-SP50 spacers (0.250 x 1.00 x 1.50") are used with lock washers and hex nuts to secure the hitch. If the M14 bolt and weldnut do not exist on your vehicle, use CM-SP22 spacers in the rear hole as well.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. The manual does not specify a retorque interval, so contact Curt Manufacturing technical support at 1-877-287-8634 for maintenance recommendations.
