The CURT 18150 is a cargo carrier platform designed to mount on a 2" receiver tube hitch. It provides a flat platform for hauling cargo and has a maximum weight capacity of 500 lbs. The product comes as a kit requiring assembly before use.
The CURT 18150 is designed for vehicles with a 2" receiver tube hitch. To confirm fitment, verify that your vehicle has a 2" receiver hitch. You will need a 17mm wrench, a 19mm wrench, and an adjustable wrench. These are the only tools listed as required for assembly.
The kit includes: 2 platform frame halves, 1 shank (2"), 2 connecting plates, 2 M12 lock nuts, 2 M12 flat washers, 2 M12 hex bolts (75mm), 8 M10 lock nuts, 8 M10 flat washers, and 8 M10 carriage bolts (20mm). All fasteners needed for assembly are included.
Assembly has two steps: (1) Align the two platform halves on either side of the 2" shank. Insert the two M12 hex bolts through the platform, shank and other platform half. Install M12 flat washers and M12 lock nuts on the bolts. Snug the hardware but do not fully tighten yet. (2) Place the two connecting plates on the front and back of the platforms. Insert the M10 carriage bolts through the outside of the platforms, followed by M10 flat washers, and secure with M10 lock nuts on the inside. Finally, tighten all hardware to the recommended torque specifications.
M10 bolts and carriage bolts must be tightened to 16 ft-lbs. M12 hex bolts and lock nuts must be tightened to 28 ft-lbs. Tighten all hardware to these specifications after assembly is complete.
No. During Step 1, snug the M12 hex bolts and lock nuts but do not fully tighten them. Wait until after Step 2 is complete, then tighten all hardware to the recommended torque specifications (28 ft-lbs for M12 bolts).
