The CURT 18152 is a cargo carrier platform designed to mount on a 2" receiver tube hitch. It is used to haul cargo and loads on the back of a vehicle. The platform consists of two frame halves connected by a 2" shank, with a maximum weight capacity of 500 lbs.

No. The CURT 18152 is designed to mount directly into your vehicle's existing 2" receiver tube hitch. No drilling, cutting, welding, grinding or permanent modifications to the vehicle are required.
Assembly has two steps: (1) Align the two platform halves on either side of the 2" shank. Insert the three M12 hex bolts through the platform, shank and other platform half. Install M12 flat washers and M12 lock nuts on the hex bolts. Snug the hardware but do not fully tighten. (2) Place the two connecting plates on the front and back of the platforms. Insert the M10 carriage bolts through the outside of the platforms, followed by M10 flat washers, and secure with M10 lock nuts on the inside. Tighten all hardware to the recommended torque specifications.
M10 bolts: 16 ft-lbs. M12 bolts: 28 ft-lbs. These torque settings apply to all fasteners unless otherwise noted in the instructions.
No. During Step 1, snug the M12 hex bolts but do not fully tighten them. Fully tighten all hardware, including the M12 bolts, only after completing Step 2 and installing the connecting plates and M10 carriage bolts.
