Whatever your task at hand -- whether it's launching that boat before daybreak, setting up your camper before the rush or getting a final load to the dump before close -- CURT class 3 trailer hitches offer the strength needed for serious towing. They make it easy to hitch up and Bring It, offering a vehicle-specific fit and the weight capacity to handle a variety of trailers. Custom class 3 hitches are the most common type of receiver hitch for pickup trucks and SUVs. Because of their weight range, they are also found on full-size cars, crossovers and minivans. Each custom-fit class 3 hitch package is made for vehicle-specific mounting. This particular kit fits certain years of the Chevy Colorado, GMC Canyon, Isuzu i-280, i-290, i-350 and i-370 (see application info to verify vehicle compatibility). It provides a weight carrying capacity of 4,000 lbs. GTW and 400 lbs. TW. It is also compatible with a weight distribution hitch for level towing and a rating of 6,000 lbs. WD and 600 lbs. WDTW. CURT class 3 trailer hitches are typically used to attach and haul utility trailers, boat trailers, campers, snowmobile or ATV haulers and more (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). Each class 3 hitch has a 2" receiver tube and is tested in accordance with SAE J684 for safety. To ensure that CURT class 3 receiver hitches have what it takes for serious trailering, they are designed using a hands-on approach and are constructed with rugged, high-strength steel and precise welding. We also protect our class 3 hitches in a co-cured finish of liquid A-coat and black powder coat for superior resistance to rust, chipping and UV damage.
A CURT custom wiring harness (also called a T-connector) is a simple, plug-and-play electrical device that eliminates the need for cutting, splicing and soldering when installing vehicle-to-trailer wiring. Most vehicles do not come ready to tow. Unless your vehicle has a towing package, it is probably not equipped with a trailer wiring connector. This is where CURT's custom wiring harnesses come into play. Custom wiring harnesses plug into your vehicle's electrical system using original equipment (OEM) connectors. Our custom wiring harnesses use two or more OEM connectors to plug in at the taillight assembly and provide a standard trailer socket to allow a trailer to be plugged into your vehicle's power system. This harness provides a 5-way flat connector socket and comes with a circuit-protected converter. It is designed to be a custom wiring harness for certain years of the Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon pickup, Isuzu I-280 or I-350 pickup or Isuzu I-290 or I-370 pickup (to verify your vehicle compatibility, see the CURT application guide at curtmfg.com). CURT custom wiring harnesses are long-lasting and quick to install. They come with dust covers to keep your connector clean when not in use and feature a one-year limited warranty to give you peace of mind.

Yes, the Curt 13252 (RRH13252) is designed for Chevy Colorado, GMC Canyon, and Isuzu I Series pick-ups. Installation differs between 2007 and earlier trucks (bumper brackets on outside of frame) and 2008 and newer trucks (bumper brackets inside frame).
Yes. On 2007 and earlier trucks, the bumper brackets are on the outside of the truck frame. On 2008 and newer trucks, the bumper brackets are inside the truck frame. This affects how you access fasteners: on 2007 and older trucks you can fishwire from the end of the frame, while on 2008 and newer trucks there is an access slot on the outside of the frame. You may also need to enlarge the access hole on the frame rail for 2008 and newer models.
The kit includes: one 1/2" fishwire, two 0.375" × 1.25" × 2.50" square hole spacers (CM-SP9), four 0.250" × 1.00" × 2.50" square hole spacers (CM-SP10), two 0.500" × 1.25" × 2.50" round hole spacers (CM-SP52), two 5/8" flat washers (30-00204), two M14×2 hex cap screws grade 10.9 (10-10466), four 1/2"-13 UNC carriage bolts grade 8 (10-10272), and four 1/2"-13 UNC serrated flange nuts grade 8 (20-00062).
No drilling is required to install the Curt 13252. However, you may need to enlarge the existing access hole on the frame rail.
The manual does not specify which tools are required for installation. Contact Curt Manufacturing technical support at 1-877-287-8634 for a complete tool list.
1. On 2007 and earlier trucks, remove the forward bumper bracket bolt on both sides and loosen the rear bumper bracket bolt. On 2008 and newer trucks, do the same. 2. Raise the hitch into position and attach with the supplied M14 hex bolt and washer, placing a 1/2" and 1/4" thick spacer between the hitch side plate and bumper bracket on both sides. Loosely fasten both sides before tightening. 3. Fishwire 1/2" carriage bolts and spacers inside the frame rail (from the frame end on 2007 and older trucks, or through the access slot on 2008 and newer trucks) and fasten with 1/2" flange nuts. 4. Torque M14 fasteners to 126 lb.-ft. and 1/2" fasteners to 110 lb.-ft.
Place a 1/2" thick spacer and a 1/4" thick spacer between the hitch side plate and bumper bracket on both sides. The 1/2" spacer is the 0.375" × 1.25" × 2.50" square hole spacer (CM-SP9), and the 1/4" spacer is the 0.250" × 1.00" × 2.50" square hole spacer (CM-SP10).
Loosely fasten both sides of the hitch to the bumper brackets before final tightening. This allows the frame brackets to draw in properly when the fasteners are tightened.
Torque M14 fasteners to 126 lb.-ft.
Torque 1/2" fasteners to 110 lb.-ft.
The gross load capacity specifications for weight carrying mode (trailer weight and tongue weight) are not provided in the installation manual. Contact Curt Manufacturing technical support at 1-877-287-8634 for these specifications.
The gross load capacity specifications for weight distribution mode (trailer weight and tongue weight) are not provided in the installation manual. Contact Curt Manufacturing technical support at 1-877-287-8634 for these specifications.
Do not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. The hitch itself has load capacity ratings, but your vehicle's manufacturer specifications take precedence.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. This helps maintain safe operation and prevent loosening due to vibration and use.
