Yes. You must lower the exhaust by removing rubber isolators before installation. For single exhaust vehicles, remove 2 isolators; for dual exhaust vehicles, remove 4 isolators. The exhaust is then raised and reattached after the hitch is secured.
Yes. You must remove the heat shield(s) by removing four screws per shield before installation. Save the screws and shields for reinstallation after the hitch is secured. The shields will then need to be trimmed around the hitch.

Fishwire is a method of threading fasteners through access holes in the frame rails. You thread the 7/16-14 × 1.5" carriage bolts and CM-SP11 spacers through the access holes and out the mounting holes in both frame rails. The manual includes a fishwire technique diagram showing this process.
Insert the 3/8" U-bolt through the tow hook as shown in the installation diagram. The U-bolt is then secured with 3/8-16 hex flange nuts.
Non-trailer loads can be applied to this hitch only if they are supported by auxiliary stabilizing straps. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads will void the product warranty.
