Yes. Step 1 requires you to locate the vehicle battery on the driver side under the hood and disconnect the negative battery terminal before beginning installation. The battery must remain disconnected until Step 12, when you reconnect it after all other installation steps are complete.
Open the tailgate and remove the two 10mm bolts securing the driver side and passenger side taillight assemblies. Remove the taillight assemblies to locate the vehicle taillight wiring harness connectors. Separate the connectors from the taillight housing, taking care not to damage the locking tabs.
Remove the three tow hooks securing the rear scuff panel by using a flat blade screwdriver to unlatch the protective tabs. Once the tabs are open, remove the 12mm bolts. Remove the scuff panel by pulling out on the bottom and then up.
Pull back on the rear trim panels on both sides of the vehicle to locate the opening that the wires go through to the taillight. Route the custom wiring harness ends with red and yellow wires out through this opening and insert them between the separated connectors.
