Whatever your task at hand -- whether it's launching that boat before daybreak, setting up your camper before the rush or getting a final load to the dump before close -- CURT class 3 trailer hitches offer the strength needed for serious towing. They make it easy to hitch up and Bring It, offering a vehicle-specific fit and the weight capacity to handle a variety of trailers. Custom class 3 hitches are the most common type of receiver hitch for pickup trucks and SUVs. Because of their weight range, they are also found on full-size cars, crossovers and minivans. Each custom-fit class 3 hitch package is made for vehicle-specific mounting. This particular kit fits certain years of the Lincoln MKC (see application info to verify vehicle compatibility). It provides a weight carrying capacity of 3,500 lbs. GTW and 525 lbs. TW. It is also compatible with a weight distribution hitch for level towing and a rating of 5,000 lbs. WD and 525 lbs. WDTW. CURT class 3 trailer hitches are typically used to attach and haul utility trailers, boat trailers, campers, snowmobile or ATV haulers and more (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). Each class 3 hitch has a 2" receiver tube and is tested in accordance with SAE J684 for safety. To ensure that CURT class 3 receiver hitches have what it takes for serious trailering, they are designed using a hands-on approach and are constructed with rugged, high-strength steel and precise welding. We also protect our class 3 hitches in a co-cured finish of liquid A-coat and black powder coat for superior resistance to rust, chipping and UV damage.
If your vehicle is not equipped with wiring for towing a trailer, CURT custom wiring is the ideal solution. A custom wiring harness -- also called a T-connector -- is a simple, plug-and-play electrical device that plugs into your automotive electric system and provides a standard, universal trailer wiring connection. This is done using two or more vehicle-specific, OEM-compatible connectors to plug into the taillight assembly, eliminating the need for cutting, splicing and soldering during installation. Custom wiring harnesses are made vehicle-specific, and while they are not available for all vehicles, they do offer one of the fastest, easiest and most secure ways to wire a vehicle for towing. This particular plug-in harness provides a 4-way flat connector socket and is designed to be a custom wiring harness to fit certain years of the Lincoln MKC (to verify your vehicle compatibility, see application info). It comes with all necessary wiring components to establish a reliable trailer wiring connection, as well as a dust cover to keep the connector clean when not in use. You have a picture in mind of your next destination -- maybe it's the boat landing at your favorite fishing spot, maybe it's a campsite that overlooks one of nature's masterpieces, or maybe it's the next big jobsite. However, turning that picture into a reality takes more than just daydreaming. It takes a solid connection and the right amount of power. CURT custom wiring is made with some of the most sophisticated technology in the industry and is designed to install with ease, giving you a long-lasting electrical connection for your towing hitch setup.

Yes, CURT part number 13194 is designed for 2015-present Lincoln MKC SUVs. Before purchasing, verify your vehicle year and model match this specification. Always confirm your hitch matches your vehicle using the vehicle photo and hitch illustration provided in the installation instructions.
When used as a weight carrying hitch, the CURT 13194 supports 3,500 lbs trailer weight and 525 lbs tongue weight. When used as a weight distribution hitch, it supports 5,000 lbs trailer weight and 525 lbs tongue weight. However, you must never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity, which may be lower than the hitch rating.
The hitch weight is 45 lbs.
You will need: torque wrench, ratchet, 6" extension, 13mm socket, 11/16" socket, die grinder, and safety glasses. Using proper tools will greatly improve the quality of the installation and reduce installation time.
Two people may be required to ease installation. If you are hesitant to undertake this task on your own, contact an authorized CURT installer for additional assistance.
Professional installation time is approximately 90 minutes. Novice (DIY) installation time is approximately 38 minutes. Actual time may vary depending on your experience level and familiarity with the installation process.
The installation is rated as MODERATE difficulty. The installation requires hole enlargement, fishwire hardware technique, and temporary lowering of the exhaust system.
No, you do not need to remove the exhaust completely. You must temporarily lower the exhaust by removing the two 8mm bolts from the muffler bracket on both sides of the vehicle. Retain these bolts for reinstallation. After sliding the hitch into position, reattach the muffler brackets and torque them to 16 ft-lbs.
No drilling is required. However, you must enlarge the existing access holes on both vehicle frame rails to allow 7/16" carriage bolts and spacers to pass through. This enlargement is done using a die grinder. The vehicle already has existing holes that need to be enlarged, not created.
The muffler bracket bolts must be torqued to 16 ft-lbs after reattachment in step 5 of the installation.
All 7/16" carriage bolts and flange nuts must be torqued to 70 ft-lbs. This is the final torque specification applied after the hitch is positioned and all hardware is loosely installed.
The CURT 13194 includes: 10 carriage bolts (7/16-14 UNC, 1-1/4", Grade 8, part number 10-10281); 10 serrated flange nuts (7/16-14 UNC, Grade 8, part number 20-00103); 4 square hole spacers (0.250 x 1.00 x 2.00", part number CM-SP7); and 4 pieces of 7/16" fishwire (part number 7_16 FISHWIRE).
Fishwire is used to guide the 7/16" carriage bolts and SP7 spacers through the enlarged access hole and out the side mounting holes in the frame rails. Thread the bolts and spacers onto the fishwire, pull the fishwire through the enlarged hole, and the hardware will follow. Leave the fishwires attached while raising the side plates over them, then remove the fishwires and loosely install the nuts on both sides.
Follow these steps in order: (1) Lower the exhaust by removing the two 8mm muffler bracket bolts on both sides; (2) Enlarge the access holes on both frame rails using a die grinder; (3) Use fishwire to thread the 7/16" carriage bolts and spacers through the enlarged holes and loosely install nuts; (4) Slide the hitch in from the rear passenger side over the exhaust and into position, then loosely install the remaining 7/16" bolts and nuts; (5) Reattach the muffler brackets and torque to 16 ft-lbs; (6) Torque all 7/16" hardware to 70 ft-lbs.
Slide the hitch in from the rear passenger side of the vehicle over the exhaust and into position.
After installation, periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure all fasteners are tight and all structural components are sound. This ongoing maintenance is important for safe towing operation.
Safety glasses must be worn at all times while installing this product. Additionally, never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity when using the hitch.

Yes, the Curt 56262 custom wiring harness is designed for Lincoln MKC SUVs, mini and full-sized vans. The manual does not specify model year restrictions, so contact the manufacturer or check the product listing for your specific year.
The Curt 56262 is a custom wiring harness that connects to your vehicle's taillight wiring to provide power for a trailer connector. It includes a converter box that taps into the vehicle's signal and tail/running light circuits.
You will need: panel trim removal tool, T-25 Torx bit, 1/4" socket, cutting tool, ratchet, 10mm socket, wire stripper, wire crimper, and pliers. A drill may be needed if a suitable grounding point is not available.
Yes, you must disconnect the negative battery terminal before beginning installation. This is the first step in the installation process.
The battery connection must be fuse-protected with a 10-amp maximum fuse. Exceeding this rating can cause loss of warranty, overheating, and potential fire.
Signal circuits are rated at 3.0 amps per side. Tail and running circuits are rated at 6.0 amps total. Do not exceed the product rating or your tow vehicle's lamp load rating, whichever is lower.
The wiring access points are located behind the rear access panels. S3 is behind the driver side rear access panel, and S4 is behind the passenger side rear access panel. You will access the vehicle taillight wiring harness by removing the side trim panels.
On the driver side, locate the gray wire with a brown stripe and the blue wire with a gray stripe. Tap the yellow converter input wire into the gray wire with the brown stripe, and the brown converter input wire into the blue wire with the gray stripe. Repeat on the passenger side using the violet wire with an orange stripe.
The ground wire is white. It must be secured to a suitable grounding point near the connector using the provided ring terminal and screw.
Drilling may be required if a suitable grounding point is not available. If needed, drill a 3/32" pilot hole for the provided screw. The area should be free of rust, dirt, and paint. Always check for hidden items behind or under surfaces before drilling to avoid damage and personal injury.
Locate a flat spot inside the vehicle near the taillight and adhere the black converter box using the provided double-sided tape. The area should be clean and flat to ensure proper adhesion.
When in use, route the 4-flat to the center of the vehicle and out of the trunk. When not in use, roll it up and store in a convenient, out-of-the-way location inside the trunk. Secure any loose wires with the provided cable ties.
Test for proper function by using a test light or connecting a properly wired trailer. All steps must be followed to ensure the wiring harness functions properly.
Install the provided 4-flat dust cover to help prevent corrosion when the connector is not in use.
You must remove: the spare tire, storage trays (after unplugging the air compressor connectors), the scuff panel (secured by two Torx screws and push fasteners), cargo fasteners, and the side trim panels to access the taillight wiring harness.
Remove the two Torx screws and push fasteners securing the scuff panel. Pull out on the bottom first, then pull up. Take care not to damage the alignment tabs located on the back of the panel.
Use a trim panel removal tool to locate the push fastener on the back side of the side trim panel and pry outwards carefully to avoid damaging it. When accessing the wiring harness, carefully remove only a section of the cloth tape and take care not to cut any wires underneath.
Use the provided red tap connectors to tap into the gray wire with a brown stripe and the blue wire with a gray stripe on the driver side. Take care not to cut the signal wires. Make sure the connectors are locked into place on the wire before inserting the converter input wires.
Route the green wire from the converter to the passenger side behind the removed scuff panels. Use the provided cable ties to secure any loose wires from the converter.
Route the black power wire from the vehicle battery as shown on the included CME-PCL-INS sheet. Refer to that document for specific routing instructions.
