The manual specifies a gross load capacity of 3,500 lbs. trailer weight and 525 lbs. tongue weight when used as a weight-carrying hitch. Non-trailer loads can be applied to this hitch only if they are supported by CURT 18050 stabilizing straps. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads with these straps will void the product warranty.
You will need: ratchet, extension, 17mm socket, torque wrench, and short #2 Phillips screwdriver.
The hitch includes 8 M10×1.25×30 hex head cap screws (HHCS) grade 10.9 with zinc plating, and 8 conical tooth washers (3/8" S-CON, zinc plated). These fasteners attach the hitch to the frame rails.
If equipped, yes. Two plastic panels are located under the bumper behind the rear tires. Remove three plastic clips from each panel using a screwdriver and pull down to dislodge. Set the panels and fasteners aside for reinstallation after hitch installation.

Insert the hitch over the exhaust on the passenger side. Rotate the hitch and raise it into position. Pulling down on the exhaust will ease the installation process.
Four M10×1.25×30 fasteners with four 3/8" conical tooth washers attach to each side (passenger and driver side frame rails), for a total of 8 fasteners.
The tooth portion of the conical washer must be against the hitch. This ensures proper load distribution and fastener security.
