No drilling is required. The hitch uses existing holes in the frame rails. The installation method uses fishwire to thread fasteners through existing holes.
Fishwire is a technique to thread fasteners through frame rail holes from underneath without removing the hitch. Thread one 1/2" carriage bolt and one CM-SP6 spacer into the rearward most hole in both frame rails using fishwire. Then reverse fishwire the remaining hardware into the remaining holes. Leave fishwires attached until the hitch is raised into position and you are ready to remove them.
1. Remove underbody panels from both sides. 2. Fishwire one 1/2" carriage bolt and one CM-SP6 spacer into the rearward most hole in both frame rails; reverse fishwire remaining hardware into remaining holes. Leave fishwires attached and driver side bolts in the frame. 3. Raise hitch into position, guiding fishwires through hitch holes. Remove fishwires and loosely secure hitch with hex flange nuts. 4. Torque 1/2" hardware to 110 lb-ft. 5. Trim underbody panels per the trim diagram and reinstall.
