This fits: 2002-2006 Nissan Altima Sedan
However you define adventure -- whether it's climbing onto the back of a mountain bike, hunting from the top of a tree stand or camping with the family a long way from nowhere -- CURT class 1 hitches provide a light-duty towing receiver to help you Bring It. Each is made to fit a specific vehicle, providing easier installation, a better fit and optimal towing capacity. Custom class 1 trailer hitches are available for a variety of smaller vehicle types, including the compact car, crossover, minivan and small SUV. This particular class 1 hitch is designed to be a custom hitch for certain years of the Nissan Altima and Maxima (to verify vehicle compatibility, see the CURT application guide at curtmfg.com). Tested in accordance with SAE J684, it offers a weight carrying capacity of 2,000 lbs. GTW and 200 lbs. TW. It is equipped with 1-1/4" receiver tube opening to accept a ball mount shank or other hitch mount. This class 1 hitch also comes with all necessary mounting hardware. With its lightweight design and smaller receiver tube size, a class 1 hitch is especially useful for adding cargo space with a hitch-mounted bike rack or cargo carrier. They can also typically be used to tow small trailers such as a utility trailer, kayak trailer or teardrop camper (never exceed the lowest weight capacity of any towing component; i.e. the vehicle, hitch, trailer, etc). Though CURT class 1 trailer hitches are only intended for light-duty towing, we apply the same principles of quality as we do to the rest of our rear mount hitches. Each class 1 hitch is made with hands-on engineering, high-strength steel and precise welding. We use a co-cured finish of liquid A-coat, inside and out, and durable black powder coat to provide a lasting defense against rust, chips and UV rays.
Trailer hitch weight ratings are limited to vehicle manufacturer's stated capacities
Not compatible for use with vertical hanging bicycles (bike racks that require the bicycles to be hung / mounted vertically)
Includes installation hardware

Yes. The CURT 11264 is designed for 2004-2008 Nissan Maxima sedans. It is a weight-carrying hitch with a gross load capacity of 2,000 lbs trailer weight and 200 lbs tongue weight. Always verify your vehicle's manufacturer towing capacity before towing.
The CURT 11264 is designed for use with ball mount #D-221/3063.
The hitch weight is 45 lbs.
The CURT 11264 has a gross load capacity of 2,000 lbs trailer weight and 200 lbs tongue weight when used as a weight-carrying hitch. However, you must never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity, which may be lower.
Required tools are: ratchet, 12mm socket, 11/16" socket, 3/4" socket, torque wrench, die grinder, safety glasses, utility knife, hole enlargement tool, and 7/16" fishwire. A die grinder or metal shears is needed to remove material from the frame rail.
Yes. The spare tire must be removed from the trunk before installation begins, and it is reinstalled after the hitch installation is complete (step 1 and step 15).
Yes. The exhaust must be lowered by removing the hanger bracket(s) from the end of the muffler(s) before installation (step 3). The exhaust is raised and re-attached after the hitch installation is complete (step 14).
You do not need to fully remove the bumper fascia, but you must remove the plastic rivets from the supports on the bottom edge of the bumper fascia (step 4). Rivets are released by pulling out the center post approximately 1/4", then pushing the rivet out by hand. The fascia is re-attached using the same rivets after installation (step 13).
Yes. In the floor of the trunk pan, remove the rubber plug from the front drain hole and remove the bonded covering from the rear drain hole (step 2). These holes are used to pass fasteners through during installation.
Yes. Drilling is required. You must remove material between adjacent holes in the frame rail using metal shears or a die grinder, then dress the sides of the hole with a file and enlarge the opening to allow the head of a 7/16" carriage bolt to pass through. This must be done on both sides of the vehicle (step 5).
The opening must be enlarged to allow the head of a 7/16" carriage bolt to pass through. The material between adjacent existing holes in the frame rail is removed using metal shears or a die grinder, and the sides are dressed with a file (step 5).
Two people may be required to ease installation. The manual recommends reading all instructions thoroughly before beginning and notes that using proper tools will greatly improve the quality of the install and reduce the time required.
The estimated installation time is 45 minutes.
The 7/16" fishwire is used to thread the 7/16" carriage bolt and small spacer block through the enlarged access hole in the frame rail and out through the existing hole in the frame rail (step 6). This allows you to position the bolt before raising the hitch into place.
The trunk strap (CM-11264-TS) is attached to the top surface of the mounting tab on the hitch receiver using 1/2" carriage bolts and flange nuts (step 9). It is then secured through the drain holes in the trunk pan using large spacer blocks and 1/2" carriage bolts with silicone compound to ensure an air-tight seal (step 10).
Silicone compound is used when installing the large spacer blocks and 1/2" carriage bolts through the drain holes in the trunk pan to ensure an air-tight seal (step 10).
All 7/16" fasteners must be torqued to 59 lb-ft (step 12).
All 1/2" fasteners must be torqued to 110 lb-ft (step 12).
Safety glasses must be worn at all times while installing this product.
All non-trailer (wheel-less) loads applied to this product must be supported by stabilizing straps, part 18050. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads will void the product warranty. See the CURT catalog or visit www.curtmfg.com for further information.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure all fasteners are tight and all structural components are sound. This is an ongoing maintenance requirement, not a one-time check.
The kit includes: one 0.375" x 2.00" trunk strap (CM-11264-TS), four 1/2-13 UNC flange nuts (20-00062), two 7/16-14 UNC carriage bolts 1-1/4" long (10-10281), two 7/16-14 UNC flange nuts (20-00103), four 1/2-13 UNC carriage bolts 1-1/2" long (10-10287), one 0.250" x 1.50" x 3.00" square hole spacer (CM-SP4), two 0.250" x 1.00" x 2.50" square hole spacers (CM-SP11), one 0.250" spacer plate (CM-SP62), and one 7/16" fishwire.
Fasteners are finger-tightened during installation steps 8 and 10. They are fully torqued only after the hitch, trunk strap, and large spacers are adjusted to be square with the vehicle (step 11). At that point, all 7/16" fasteners are torqued to 59 lb-ft and all 1/2" fasteners are torqued to 110 lb-ft (step 12).
