Connect to your lifestyle with a custom hitch receiver from CURT. All of our custom hitches are designed for a vehicle-specific fit, manufactured with pride, finished for industry-leading rust resistance and tested to rigorous SAE J684 standards for safety. This class 1 trailer hitch and ball mount combination is designed for a custom fit on select years of the Honda HR-V (see application info to verify fitment). The hitch integrates with the vehicle's frame and provides a useful and dependable 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver. The receiver is perfect for attaching the included ball mount and towing a small trailer, or for adding cargo space with a hitch-mounted cargo carrier, bike rack or other accessory. This particular class 1 hitch is rated for 2,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 200 pounds tongue weight (never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). The ball mount included with this trailer hitch quickly and easily installs into the hitch receiver and has a 3/4" trailer ball hole (trailer ball not included). It can be mounted in the rise or drop position to promote level towing. Like all CURT custom hitches, this class 1 hitch is protected with our co-cured finishing process. It is descaled for a smooth surface, immersed in liquid A-coat for rust resistance inside and out, covered with a durable black powder coat and finally co-cured for an industry-leading rust, chip and UV-resistant shield. No matter where you're headed or which season of the year you’re towing in, this CURT hitch is equipped for long-lasting resilience to the elements. It features an open-back receiver for easy cleaning, and it comes with all the hardware necessary for the installation.
Trailer hitch weight ratings are limited to vehicle manufacturer's stated capacities
Not compatible for use with vertical hanging bicycles (bike racks that require the bicycles to be hung / mounted vertically)

Yes, the CURT 11416 is designed for Honda HR-V models 2015-Present. It fits both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions of this crossover. Verify your vehicle matches before purchase.
The CURT 11416 is rated for a maximum of 2,000 lbs trailer weight and 200 lbs tongue weight when used as a weight-carrying hitch. However, you must never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity, which may be lower. Always verify your Honda HR-V's factory towing limit before towing.
The CURT 11416 is designed for use with ball mount 45521. Euro mount options are also available: 45571 (1 7/8" ball) and 45572 (2" ball). Verify compatibility with your intended ball mount before purchase.
You will need: a ratchet, a torque wrench, an 11/16" socket, safety glasses, and aviation shears. The aviation shears are required for trimming the underbody panel on front-wheel drive models.
The kit includes: one 7/16-14 x 1.75" x 1.00" C-C U-bolt, two 0.250 x 0.88 x 2.25" square hole spacers (CM-SP2), one 7/16-14 x 1 1/4" carriage bolt (Grade 8), two 7/16" fishwires, four 7/16-14 hex flange nuts, and one 7/16-14 x 1" carriage bolt.
No, drilling is not required. The hitch uses existing holes in the frame and fishwire hardware to secure the carriage bolts without drilling.
On front-wheel drive models only, the lower underbody panel may need to be trimmed to install the hitch. The manual provides a trim diagram showing the required cuts. All-wheel drive models may not require this modification.
On front-wheel drive models, the exhaust heat shield will need to be bent approximately 3/4" to allow the hitch to rest flat against the frame rail. The manual shows a diagram indicating you should fold the heat shield up as needed. This is a temporary modification that can be reversed.
Yes. The first installation step is to lower the exhaust by removing the two rear-most rubber isolators from the muffler. After the hitch is installed and torqued, you will raise and secure the exhaust back into position.
Fishwire is used to thread the carriage bolts and spacers through existing holes in the frame rails without drilling. On the driver side, fishwire a 7/16-14 x 1 1/4" carriage bolt and CM-SP2 spacer through an existing fore hole. On the passenger side, fishwire a 7/16-14 x 1" carriage bolt and CM-SP2 spacer through an existing fore hole. The manual includes a fishwire technique diagram. Leave the fishwires attached to prevent loss of hardware inside the frame rail.
The longer carriage bolt (7/16-14 x 1 1/4") must be installed on the driver side. The shorter carriage bolt (7/16-14 x 1") goes on the passenger side. Both are installed with a CM-SP2 spacer using the fishwire technique.
1. Lower the exhaust by removing the two rear-most rubber isolators from the muffler. 2. Fishwire the carriage bolts and spacers through existing frame holes (longer bolt on driver side, shorter on passenger side). 3. Insert the 7/16" U-bolt through the tow loop. 4. Raise the hitch into position and loosely secure using 7/16" flange nuts. 5. Torque all 7/16" hardware to 70 ft-lbs. 6. Raise and secure the exhaust back into position.
All 7/16" hardware must be torqued to 70 ft-lbs. This includes the U-bolt, carriage bolts, and hex flange nuts. Use a torque wrench to ensure proper tightness.
Safety glasses must be worn at all times during installation. If you are hesitant to undertake this task on your own, contact an authorized CURT installer for additional assistance. Two people may be required to ease installation.
All non-trailer loads (wheel-less loads) applied to this hitch must be supported by CURT 18050 Stabilizing Straps. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads will void the product warranty. See the CURT catalog or visit www.curtmfg.com for further information on stabilizing straps.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure all fasteners are tight and all structural components are sound. The manual does not specify a retorque interval, but regular inspection is essential for safe operation.
On front-wheel drive models, the lower underbody panel may need to be trimmed and the exhaust heat shield bent approximately 3/4". The exhaust must be lowered by removing rubber isolators and then raised back after installation. All-wheel drive models may require fewer modifications. No drilling is required.
Two people may be required to ease installation. While one person may be able to complete the installation, having a second person can make the process easier.
