These durable custom hitches are manufactured for 2013-2023 Mazda CX-5 and attach to your vehicle?s frame or bumper for a sleek, clean appearance. Each hitch also has a 2 inch square receiver tube opening ? the most common and versatile on the market - allowing you to attach accessories like a bike rack or cargo carrier, or hook up your pop-up, boat trailer, or utility trailer. The options are endless! DRAW-TITE Class 3 Custom Trailer Hitches come complete with all the mounting hardware needed for installation and are backed by a nationwide lifetime limited warranty. So, whether you are headed out to the campground, the lake, or the bike trails, or you are tackling a project at home and need to haul the materials home, choose DRAW-TITE and travel with confidence knowing your setup is connected with the security only DRAW-TITE can provide. DRAW-TITE: North America?s Favorite Hitch

Draw-Tite has designed custom-fit trailer hitches since 1946 and is one of North America's most widely fitted hitch brands. Receiver hitches use solid all-welded construction and low-profile designs that follow modern vehicle contours, install with minimal bumper cutting or drilling, meet or exceed V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards, and carry a limited lifetime warranty.
Draw-Tite has been leading custom-fit trailer hitch design and engineering since its founding in 1946, and it remains one of the most widely fitted hitch brands in North America. The company's stated approach is straightforward: every hitch is tested rigorously so that it performs well beyond published industry standards, a philosophy it markets as Tested Tough. It sits within the Horizon Global towing group alongside Reese, Fulton, Bulldog, Tekonsha, Bargman and Wesbar.
Custom fit is the defining characteristic. Rather than adapting a universal design, Draw-Tite engineers a trailer hitch for a specific make, model and model year, so it bolts to existing frame locations with minimal bumper cutting or drilling. Low-profile designs follow the rear contours and aerodynamic styling of modern vehicles, which matters more than it once did now that rear fascias are shaped and sensor-equipped. Construction is solid all-welded steel for maximum strength, and every hitch meets or exceeds V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards and is backed by a nationwide limited lifetime warranty.
The range spans receiver sizes and classes to suit different loads, from 1-1/4 inch receivers for bike racks, cargo carriers and light trailers up through 2 inch receivers for heavier towing. Front mount hitches add a receiver at the front of the vehicle for winch mounts, snow plows, spare carriers and precise trailer positioning.
The Hidden Hitch series takes concealment further by mounting behind the vehicle's rear fascia, so the vehicle keeps its factory appearance until a removable receiver is fitted. Each is custom designed per make and model for a no-drill installation that does not compromise ground clearance, rated for up to 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. Matching plug-and-play wiring completes the towing system.

The 76138 hitch is designed for 2013-Current Mazda CX-5 models. Visit the Cequent website for the most up-to-date information regarding specific application years and trim levels, as compatibility may vary.
The 76138 is a weight-carrying hitch with a maximum gross trailer weight of 4500 lb (2043 kg) and a maximum tongue weight of 675 lb (306 kg). Do not exceed the lower of your towing vehicle manufacturer's rating or these limits.
No. The 76138 is a weight-carrying hitch and must not be used with weight-distributing spring bars.
Required tools are: ratchet, torque wrench, safety glasses, and 3/4" sockets. Optional tools include a 6" socket extension, universal joint socket, small flat-head screwdriver, exhaust removal pliers, pry bar, ratchet tie-down, and lubricant or soapy water.
Yes. The exhaust must be lowered by removing four rubber hangers and supported to prevent it from falling under its own weight. Spraying lubricant or soapy water on the metal hanger rod and rubber isolator helps with removal and reinstallation.
Plastic rivets may be present fastening the fascia tabs to the vehicle. If present, remove them by extracting the center of the rivet with a flat screwdriver. Keep the rivets for reinstallation after the hitch is installed.
The fastener kit (76138F) includes: four 1/2-13 x 1.25 GR5 carriage bolts, four 0.250 x 1 x 3 spacers, four 1/2" conical washers, four 1/2-13 GR5 hex nuts, and four 1/2-13 fish wires (pull wires).
Feed the coiled end of the pull wire through the forward attachment hole in the frame and out the access hole. Attach the spacer onto the pull wire and thread the carriage bolt onto the pull wire. Pull the pull wire with fasteners into location through the hole, leaving the pull wire attached. Repeat on both frame rails. The reverse pull wire procedure threads the carriage bolt into the access hole first, then feeds the spacer into the access hole, and pulls the carriage bolt into position through the spacer.
Raise the hitch above the exhaust and feed the pull wires through the attachment points on the hitch brackets. Gently pull the fascia rearward as needed to gain access between the fascia and exhaust hanger. Feed the conical washer over the pull wire, using the washer to hold the bolt in place, then remove the pull wires and attach the hex nut. Hand tighten both sides initially.
All 1/2 GR5 fasteners must be tightened to 75 lb-ft (102 N·M). A universal joint socket may be needed to tighten the rearward fasteners on both sides. Proper torque is essential to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing.
Raise the exhaust back into position and remove the ratchet strap. Spraying lubricant or soapy water on the metal hanger rod and rubber isolator helps with reinstalling. Reinstall the plastic rivets if they were removed in step 2.
Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened. The manual does not specify a retorque interval, but periodic inspection is required to maintain secure mounting during towing.
Always wear your seatbelt. Slow down when towing and never exceed any posted speed limit. Load the trailer heavier in front. If excess sway occurs, take your foot off the gas pedal and hold the steering wheel as steady as possible. Do not apply your brakes and do not speed up. Do not exceed the lower of your towing vehicle manufacturer's rating or the hitch's maximum capacity of 4500 lb GVWR and 675 lb tongue weight.
If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball that has been damaged should be removed and replaced.
No cutting, welding, or modification of the receiver is permitted. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. The hitch uses a pull wire installation method that works with existing frame holes.
Always wear safety glasses when installing the hitch. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle.

Yes, this T-Connector is designed for the Mazda CX-5. It connects to the vehicle's taillight wiring harness located inside the access panels on both the driver and passenger sides of the vehicle.
Trim panel remover, 10 mm socket and ratchet or 10 mm wrench, drill with 3/32" drill bit, 1/4" socket, wire crimpers, wire cutters, Phillips head screwdriver, and test probe.
Yes. Disconnect the vehicle's negative (−) battery cable before connecting the power wire to the positive battery terminal. Reconnect the negative cable only after the fuse holder and 15 amp fuse are installed.
Yes. A 3/32" hole must be drilled into a suitable grounding point (vehicle frame or crossmember, not the floor or bed) to secure the white ground wire using the provided eyelet and screw. Verify what is behind the surface before drilling.
A 15 amp fuse must be installed in the yellow fuse holder provided. This fuse is connected between the black 12 ga. power wire and the vehicle's positive battery terminal.
Do not exceed the lower of the towing manufacturer's rating (in your vehicle owner's manual) or the product's amperage rating. Overloading circuits can cause fires. Wear safety glasses during installation and verify what is behind any surface before drilling.
Test and verify installation with a test light or trailer once installed. For the initial test, reset the vehicle electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.
The T-Connector (part 118746-037) is a T-One® electrical connector that integrates into the Mazda CX-5's taillight wiring harness to provide a connection point for trailer lighting. It uses a black box module and includes a 4-flat connector for trailer use.
The kit includes the T-Connector harness with yellow and green wire ends, a black box module, a white ground wire with eyelet and screw, a black 12 ga. power wire, a yellow fuse holder with 15 amp fuse, a yellow butt connector, cable ties, and a 4-flat connector for storage in the spare tire compartment.
The manual specifies this T-Connector (part 118746-037) is designed for the Mazda CX-5 only. Use with other vehicles is not supported by this manual.
Open the tailgate and remove the cargo door on the floor. Carefully remove the floor trim panels and access panels on each side of the vehicle. The taillight wiring harness is located inside the access panel area on both the driver and passenger sides.
Locate the vehicle's taillight wiring harness on both the driver and passenger sides. Separate the connector carefully, avoiding damage to the locking tabs. Ensure all connector surfaces are clean and free of dirt before inserting the T-Connector ends.
On the driver's side, insert the T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the vehicle wiring connectors and lock into place, ensuring the locking tabs are fully engaged. On the passenger's side, repeat this process using the T-Connector end with the green wire. Be careful not to damage the locking tabs.
Route the T-Connector end with the green wire through the trim panel access hole on the driver's side, across the threshold, and through the passenger trim panel access hole. This allows the connector to reach both the driver and passenger side taillight harnesses.
Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as the vehicle's frame or crossmember. Do not drill into the vehicle floor or bed. Clean dirt and rustproofing from the area, then drill a 3/32" hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
Verify what is behind any surface prior to drilling to avoid damage to the vehicle and personal injury. Do not drill into any exposed surfaces. Clean the area thoroughly to remove dirt and rustproofing before drilling the 3/32" hole.
Locate the black 12 ga. power wire from the T-Connector box on the driver's side. Attach the black 12 ga. wire provided. Route the black wire along the exterior frame or follow existing wiring along the thresholds into the engine compartment up to the battery, avoiding areas that may pinch or break the wire.
Avoid hot pipes, heat shields, the fuel tank, and any other points that may pinch or break the wire. If routing the wire through a grommet and along the exterior of the vehicle, exercise extra care to prevent damage.
Disconnect the vehicle's negative (−) battery cable first. Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder if not already removed. Cut the fuse holder wire, attach the ring terminal, and secure it to the vehicle's positive (+) battery cable. Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12 ga. wire using the yellow butt connector provided.
The T-Connector uses yellow wire on the driver's side connector end, green wire on the passenger's side connector end, white wire for grounding, and black 12 ga. wire for the positive power connection to the battery.
The yellow butt connector is used to join the fuse holder wire to the black 12 ga. power wire that connects to the vehicle's positive battery terminal.
Mount the T-One® T-Connector's black box module on a flat surface in an out-of-the-way place to prevent damage or rattling.
Secure the remainder of the T-Connector harness with the cable ties provided to prevent damage or rattling. Be careful to avoid any areas that would pinch, cut, or melt the wire.
Store the 4-flat connector in the spare tire compartment when not in use.
After reconnecting the vehicle's negative (−) battery cable and installing the 15 amp fuse into the fuse holder, test and verify the installation with a test light or trailer. For the initial test, reset the vehicle electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.
Read and follow all warnings and cautions printed on the tow vehicle's battery. Always read, understand, and follow all warnings and instructions printed on the tow vehicle's battery before beginning installation.
Overloading circuits can cause fires. Do not exceed the stated product ratings or the lower of the towing manufacturer's rating (including in your vehicle owner's manual) or the specific amperage ratings stated on the product.
Always wear safety glasses and use all safety precautions during installation.
Verify that all connections are complete. Test and verify the installation with a test light or trailer. For the initial test, reset the vehicle electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition. Ensure the 15 amp fuse is installed in the fuse holder, the negative battery cable is reconnected, and all connector locking tabs are fully engaged.
Ensure the connectors are fully inserted and the locking tabs are properly aligned. Do not force the connectors. If the locking tabs are damaged, do not proceed with installation as this will prevent proper electrical contact. Verify that you are using the correct T-Connector end (yellow wire on driver's side, green wire on passenger's side).
