The ball mount must have a maximum length of 10.5" (distance from center of ball hole to center of pin hole) and a minimum rise of 0.75" (distance from top of shank to top of ball platform). Select a ball mount that meets these specifications for proper fitment and safety.

Weather covers are installed on the top and bottom of the receiver housing to protect it from the elements. They are included with the hitch and must be installed before attaching the receiver housing to the hitch brackets.
The fishwire method is used to route carriage bolts and spacer blocks through the vehicle frame to the attachment holes. Pull wires are attached to the bolts and blocks, then guided through access holes in the frame. The rearward bolts use 2" long blocks, and the forward bolts use 3" long blocks. The pull wires are left attached until the hitch is raised into position and the bolts are secured with conical washers and hex nuts.
The conical washers must be installed with the teeth side facing toward the hitch. This orientation ensures proper clamping and load distribution when the hex nuts are torqued.

The manual does not specify that the battery must be disconnected. However, you will need to disconnect the wiring to the key proximity antenna during installation and reconnect it after relocation.
The underbody panel must be removed. Depending on the model, this requires removing 9 M8 fasteners, 5 to 8 M10 nuts, and 1 to 2 plastic push-on fasteners (unscrew with a standard screwdriver while pulling down on the panel). The heat shield (2 M10 nuts) and key proximity antenna housing must also be removed. For model years after 2020, the heat shield may be connected to the underbody panel and removed in the same step.
Pry off the 2 rearmost rubber exhaust hangers using exhaust removal pliers or another suitable tool. Spraying the hangers with soapy water makes this easier. Be sure to support the exhaust system to prevent damage during removal and reinstallation.
The key proximity antenna must be removed from its housing and relocated. 1. Disconnect the wiring from the antenna. 2. Remove the antenna from the housing (retain the antenna). 3. Trim or discard the housing box at the bumper support. 4. After the hitch is installed, use the included zip ties to secure the antenna to the relocation bracket. 5. Reconnect the wiring.

Pull wires are used to route the carriage bolts and spacer blocks through the vehicle frame. During steps 5 and 6, leave the pull wires attached to the bolts and blocks. When raising the hitch into position in step 7, guide the fishwire ends through the attachment holes, then remove the pull wires before installing the conical washers and hex nuts. Kink the pull wire to keep the spacer independent of the bolt during routing.
When raising the hitch into position, install the passenger side first over the muffler. This positioning helps guide the hitch into alignment with the frame attachment holes and ensures proper fitment without interference with the exhaust system.

After removing the screws, carefully pull the taillights away from the vehicle without damaging the alignment pins.
