Custom class 3 hitches are the most common type of receiver hitch for pickup trucks and SUVs. Because of their weight range, they are also found on full-size cars, crossovers and minivans. Each custom-fit class 3 hitch package is made for vehicle-specific mounting. This particular kit fits certain years of the Toyota T100 (see application info to verify vehicle compatibility). It provides a weight carrying capacity of 5,000 lbs. GTW and 500 lbs. TW. It is also compatible with a weight distribution hitch for level towing and a rating of 8,000 lbs. WD and 800 lbs. WDTW. CURT class 3 trailer hitches are typically used to attach and haul utility trailers, boat trailers, campers, snowmobile or ATV haulers and more (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). Each class 3 hitch has a 2" receiver tube and is tested in accordance with SAE J684 for safety. To ensure that CURT class 3 receiver hitches have what it takes for serious trailering, they are designed using a hands-on approach and are constructed with rugged, high-strength steel and precise welding. We also protect our class 3 hitches in a co-cured finish of liquid A-coat and black powder coat for superior resistance to rust, chipping and UV damage.
A CURT custom wiring harness (also called a T-connector) is a simple, plug-and-play electrical device that eliminates the need for cutting, splicing and soldering when installing vehicle-to-trailer wiring. Most vehicles do not come ready to tow. Unless your vehicle has a towing package, it is probably not equipped with a trailer wiring connector. This is where CURT's custom wiring harnesses come into play. Custom wiring harnesses plug into your vehicle's electrical system using original equipment (OEM) connectors. Our custom wiring harnesses use two or more OEM connectors to plug in at the taillight assembly and provide a standard trailer socket to allow a trailer to be plugged into your vehicle's power system. This harness provides a 5-way flat connector socket and comes with a circuit-protected converter. It is designed to be a custom wiring harness for certain years of the Toyota T-100 pickup or Toyota Tacoma (including X-Runner and Pre-Runner) (to verify your vehicle compatibility, see the CURT application guide at curtmfg.com). Part number 13045 is designed for 1993–1998 Toyota T100 with 4WD only. It will not fit 2WD models or other model years. Verify your vehicle's year and drivetrain before purchasing.
The kit includes: 2× M12×1.25×40mm hex head cap screws (HHCS) with conical tooth washers; 4× M12 washers (split-conical); 2× 1/2-inch flat washers; 2× 9/16-inch flat washers; 2× 9/16-12 UNC hex head cap screws, 1.5 inches long; 2× 1/2-13 UNC hex head cap screws, 1.5 inches long; 2× 9/16-12 UNC serrated flange nuts; 2× 1/2-13 UNC serrated flange nuts; and 2× reinforcement brackets (1.566 sq. × 0.250 inch).
You do not need to remove the entire bumper. You must remove the hardware that secures the bumper mounting brackets from the rear mount side of the vehicle on both sides, and remove the front two bolts on both sides. The hitch is then raised into position and fastened through the existing frame structure.
The two reinforcement brackets (CM-13045-RB) are installed inside the frame rail on each side. Position each bracket so that the longer leg sits flat against the bottom of the frame rail, and align the holes with the slots in the frame rails.
Drilling may be required. If the hole in the bumper mounting bracket does not line up with the hole in the reinforcement bracket, you will need to drill out the bumper mounting bracket hole with a 1/2-inch bit. Check alignment before beginning installation to determine if drilling is necessary.
Torque all M12 fasteners to 86 lb.-ft., all 1/2-inch fasteners to 110 lb.-ft., and all 9/16-inch fasteners to 150 lb.-ft. These specifications apply to the hex head cap screws and their corresponding nuts and washers.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. This ongoing inspection helps maintain safe operation and prevents loosening due to vibration and use.

Yes. Open the tailgate and remove both taillights by removing the screws with a 10mm socket. Carefully pry the taillights away from the vehicle, being careful not to break the alignment tabs. The taillight wiring harness contains the connection points where the T-Connector plugs in.
On the Toyota T-100, the taillight wiring harness is located near the rear of the frame. It has connection points on both the driver and passenger side of the frame with connectors that match the ends of the T-Connector.
Begin on the driver's side. First, separate the vehicle's taillight wiring connections, taking care not to break the locking tabs. Clean all surfaces if dirty. Then plug the T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the vehicle's wiring connections. Ensure the T-Connector is fully inserted with locking tabs in place.
Route the T-Connector end with the green wire and the 4-flat connector through the hole between the vehicle bumper and body. Route the green wire to the passenger side up through the hole and insert housing. Be careful to avoid areas that might cut or pinch the wire.
